  • Patent number: 10327103
Abstract: In one embodiment, an apparatus is presented that detects wireless signals from external devices that uniquely identify each of the external devices, records, in memory, information about the external devices without access to an external database, and compares information from the external devices to determine a relative location of the wearable device without using additional, power-hungry position location functionality if there is a threshold match in the compared information. In some embodiments, the invention uses the determined relative location to trigger an action at another device. The invention, using self-contained functionality, enables improvements in same location or home location determination accuracy, memory conservation, and power consumption.

  • Patent number: 10285080
Abstract: A method and associated systems for improving robustness of a cellular network. A topology of the cellular network is represented as an undirected graph that represents base stations as nodes and represents communication paths between base stations as edges. Each node is associated with a “synergistic” version of a Shapley value proportional to an amount of network disturbance that would occur if that value's corresponding base station should fail. The synergistic nature of the synergistic Shapley values allows them to account for scenarios in which multiple base stations fail at the same time. A synergistic Shapley value of a particular node is derived as a function of how many of the shortest paths between nodes of the graph lengthen when the node's corresponding base station fails. Base stations and nodes associated with higher synergistic Shapley values are deemed to be “censorious” and in need of reconfiguration.

  • Patent number: 10264562
Abstract: TDD access equipment modified by introducing a frequency change at the normal TDD guard point, with respective downlink or uplink periods for individual subscriber stations offset to form overlapping frames. Cyclo-stationary processing, block equalization, and burst timing coordination allow the boundary between downlink and uplink portions of both frames to be set dynamically, improving spectral efficiency. Fast frequency switching within an allotted physical slot enables synchronization of time-sharing the dedicated frequencies to be maintained among subscriber stations. Duplex spacing between downlink and uplink frequencies for individual subscriber stations, combined with in-depth filtering of received signals, prevents spurious out-of-band transmission signal strength from reaching an interference level.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide example methods and apparatuses for transmitting pattern information. One example method for transmitting pattern information includes obtaining pattern information and sending the pattern information to UE. The first pattern information indicates that the spectrum of the first cell is allocated to the first RAT in a first plurality of sub-frames and that the spectrum of the first cell is allocated to the second RAT in a second plurality of sub-frames. The first pattern information enables at least one of the UE to select any sub-frame in the first plurality of sub-frames to measure a CRS if the UE RAT pattern corresponds to the first RAT or the UE to select any sub-frame in the second plurality of sub-frames to measure the CRS if the UE RAT pattern corresponds to the second RAT.

  • Patent number: 10237816
Abstract: A node of a multiple radio access technology (multi-RAT) system acquires resource status information associated with each RAT of the multi-RAT system. The resource status information of the RATs of the multi-RAT system can be acquired by sniffing higher layer protocol information pertaining to call setup requests and/or call terminated messages. The node further maintains a flag representing overall resource availability associated with the RATs of the multi-RAT system, based on the acquired resource status information, for use in admission control and/or load balancing. The flag is associated with a pre-defined set of overall resource availability states of the multi-RAT system, where the availability states are defined in terms of admission control decisions.
