  • Patent number: 9955408
Abstract: A method includes determining, at a first eNodeB (eNB) associated with a first cell of a network, that a first user equipment (UE) is to engage in a device discovery process. The method also includes coordinating parameters of the device discovery process with a second eNB. The second eNB is associated with a second cell of the network and with a second UE. The parameters define one or more resources to be used in the first and second cells during the device discovery process. The method further includes communicating at least some of the parameters to the first UE. The device discovery process includes a process in which the first UE identifies one or more other UEs with which the first UE is able to engage in device-to-device communications.

  • Patent number: 9949068
Abstract: A mobile station that is wirelessly linked to a wearable device, receives a request to initiate a location session from the wearable device, e.g., which may be in the form of an emergency call. The mobile station determines whether the location of the mobile station may be used as a location of the wearable device, e.g., by determining if the wearable device is proximate to the mobile station. For example, the mobile station may check to see if the mobile station is wirelessly linked to a wearable device through a wireless personal area network (WPAN). The mobile station initiates the location session for the wearable device with a location server. If the location of the mobile station may not be used as a location of the wearable device, the location session for the wearable device does not use position information obtained from the mobile station.

  • Patent number: 9942409
Abstract: A system and method for translating a coding language for graphical scripts used by a communication routing system into a preferred language. The original script files are received, and translation and validation rules are applied to produce translated script files. The coding language may be translated into an intermediate language which may be translated into the preferred language. A cross-reference and nodes resource is queried to gather associated contextual information for understanding and analyzing the translated script files. The translated script files and the associated contextual information are stored in a database. Thereafter, in response to a query from a user, the database is searched for information of interest from the translated script files, and the information is reported. In one possible application, the technology facilitates performing a path analysis of an individual call flow in which all possible outcomes of a communication are determined from initiation to completion.

  • Patent number: 9936081
Abstract: Information associated with a communication is gathered at a switching point during the routing process to determine subscriber metric information associated with an active service identifier. The information relates to the originator of the communication and the target. The information is compared to a provider database to determine a carrier originally associated with the active service identifier. The information is then compared to a porting database to determine if the active service identifier was ported, and if so, to which carrier the active service identifier was ported. A determination can then be made regarding which carrier is associated with the active service identifier. Various systems and methods may be used to determine a number of subscribers, a number of new subscribers, and a number of disconnected subscribers for a given carrier in a given market.

  • Patent number: 9930161
Abstract: A mobile communication device. The device comprises a radio transceiver, a display, a non-transitory memory, a processor, and a notification application stored in the non-transitory memory. When executed by the processor the notification application receives a plurality of notification bundles via the radio transceiver, where each notification bundle comprises a notification and a trigger rule and each notification comprises a prompt to download and install a mobile application on the mobile communication device. The notification application when executed further stores the notification associated with each of the notification bundles in the non-transitory memory, monitors a context of the device, evaluates each of the trigger rules of the notification bundles based on monitoring the context of the device, and when a trigger rule evaluates to be active, presenting the notification associated with the active trigger rule in the display.

  • Patent number: 9930576
Abstract: An apparatus, computer program, and method are provided for acceleration of a handover if mobile communication device signaling is degrading. Signal information is received in connection with a mobile communication device being serviced by a cell of a network. It is determined whether the signal information indicates that at least one aspect of a signaling in connection with the mobile communication device is degrading. An acceleration of a handover is conditionally caused in connection with the mobile communication device, if it is determined that the signal information indicates that the at least one aspect of the signaling in connection with the mobile communication device is degrading.

  • Patent number: 9883348
Abstract: A system and related method for navigation and orientation determination in an indoor or GPS-denied environment mounts a static reference transceiver (SRT) at a known, fixed position within the environment, the fixed position referenced by a coordinate reference frame (CRF) of the SRT. The SRT communicates its position to mobile dismounted units within the environment, determining a range and orientation angle of each mobile unit relative to the SRT CRF based on response signals received from the mobile units. The SRT provides the determined SRT-CRF-referenced ranges and orientation angles to the mobile units, which may share orientation data with each other or relay the SRT-referenced location data to other mobile units not within line of sight of the SRT.

  • Patent number: 9872156
Abstract: Aspects of this disclosure are directed to a method of routing text messages to subscribers of toll-free numbers using the toll-free exchange. Typically, an originating texter will draft a text message, using, for example, an SMS component of a cellular phone to a toll-free subscriber. In an aspect of the present disclosure, the text message is sent to the originating texter's service provider, which then routes the text message to the toll-free exchange. The toll-free exchange looks up the RESPORG ID associated with the ten-digit toll-free number, and the RESPORG ID is used for text message routing.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and an apparatus for transmitting pattern information. The method for transmitting pattern information includes obtaining pattern information; and sending the pattern information to UE. The first pattern information indicates that the spectrum of the first cell is allocated to the first RAT in a first plurality of sub-frames, and that the spectrum of the first cell is allocated to the second RAT in a second plurality of sub-frames. The first pattern information enables the UE to select any sub-frame in the first plurality of sub-frames to measure a CRS if the UE RAT pattern corresponds to the first RAT, or enables the UE to select any sub-frame in the second plurality of sub-frames to measure the CRS if the UE RAT pattern corresponds to the second RAT. The embodiments of the present invention improve scheduling accuracy and efficiency.
