Patent number: 10057791Abstract: A method and associated systems for improving robustness of a cellular network. A topology of the cellular network is represented as an undirected graph that represents base stations as nodes and represents communication paths between base stations as edges. Each node is associated with a “synergistic” version of a Shapley value proportional to an amount of network disturbance that would occur if that value's corresponding base station should fail. The synergistic nature of the synergistic Shapley values allows them to account for scenarios in which multiple base stations fail at the same time. A synergistic Shapley value of a particular node is derived as a function of how many of the shortest paths between nodes of the graph lengthen when the node's corresponding base station fails. Base stations and nodes associated with higher synergistic Shapley values are deemed to be “censorious” and in need of reconfiguration.Type: GrantFiled: August 14, 2017Date of Patent: August 21, 2018Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Krishnasuri Narayanam, Ramasuri Narayanam, Mukundan Sundararajan

Patent number: 10055765Abstract: Advertisement vendors can be dynamically selected in response to a request from a wireless communication device. A mediation router can receive an ad request from a portal interfaced with a wireless device. Specifically, the mediation router analyzes the request and dynamically selects an ad vendor to service the request, based in part on the analysis. The selected ad vendor supplies the ad and the mediation router ensures that the portal receives the ad. The mediation router selects an ad vendor in a variety of ways including, but not limited to, business decision rules or artificial intelligence and/or a combination thereof. The mediation router further employs customer profiles that help vendors target advertisements to specific consumers and wireless devices.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 2017Date of Patent: August 21, 2018Assignee: AT&T MOBILITY II LLCInventors: Matthew Hull, Goshtasb Foroutan

Patent number: 10051135Abstract: Information associated with a communication is gathered at a switching point during the routing process to determine subscriber metric information associated with an active service identifier. The information relates to the originator of the communication and the target. The information is compared to a provider database to determine a carrier originally associated with the active service identifier. The information is then compared to a porting database to determine if the active service identifier was ported, and if so, to which carrier the active service identifier was ported. A determination can then be made regarding which carrier is associated with the active service identifier. The data may be aggregated for a large amount of switched communications, representing a large amount of active service identifiers for a given market. Thus, a number of subscribers for a given carrier in a given market may be determined.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2014Date of Patent: August 14, 2018Assignee: AT&T Mobility II LLCInventor: Gregory Evan Mishkin

Patent number: 10051414Abstract: In a general aspect, motion is detected using vector representations of channel responses. In some aspects, a first set of channel responses are obtained based on wireless signals transmitted through a space during a first time period. From the first set of channel responses, a set of orthogonal axes in a frequency vector domain are determined. A second channel response is obtained based on a wireless signal transmitted through the space during a second time period, and a channel vector representing the second channel response in the frequency vector domain is determined. Motion of an object in the space is detected based on a projection of the channel vector onto one of the set of orthogonal axes.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2017Date of Patent: August 14, 2018Assignee: Cognitive Systems Corp.Inventors: Mohammad Omer, Christopher Vytautas Olekas
