Abstract: Aspects of this disclosure are directed to a method of routing text messages to subscribers of toll-free numbers using the toll-free exchange. Typically, an originating texter will draft a text message, using, for example, an SMS component of a cellular phone to a toll-free subscriber. In an aspect of the present disclosure, the text message is sent to the originating texter's service provider, which then routes the text message to the toll-free exchange. The toll-free exchange looks up the RESPORG ID associated with the ten-digit toll-free number, and the RESPORG ID is used for text message routing.
Abstract: Disclosed are methods, devices, systems, apparatus, servers, computer-/processor-readable media, and other implementations, including a method, performed at a processor-based wireless mobile device, that includes receiving, by the mobile device, signals that include at least one message comprising antenna information for a first wireless node transmitting the signals, and transmitting, by the mobile device, an information message including the antenna information for the first wireless node to a remote device configured to receive and store antenna data for multiple wireless nodes obtained by one or more wireless devices while visiting respective areas covered by the multiple wireless nodes.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and an apparatus for transmitting pattern information. The method for transmitting pattern information includes obtaining pattern information; and sending the pattern information to UE. The first pattern information indicates that the spectrum of the first cell is allocated to the first RAT in a first plurality of sub-frames, and that the spectrum of the first cell is allocated to the second RAT in a second plurality of sub-frames. The first pattern information enables the UE to select any sub-frame in the first plurality of sub-frames to measure a CRS if the UE RAT pattern corresponds to the first RAT, or enables the UE to select any sub-frame in the second plurality of sub-frames to measure the CRS if the UE RAT pattern corresponds to the second RAT. The embodiments of the present invention improve scheduling accuracy and efficiency.

The access control module is configured to provide access information from the management system to a mobile communication device over a short distance communication link to allow the mobile communication device to access the communication network.
Abstract: A system and method for rate-limiting phone number lookups. An account look-up application receives an address book of a first user, the address book including a phone number that belongs to a second user, creates a phone edge by associating the phone number in the address book with an account of the second user, receives a request including the phone number from the first user for obtaining the account associated with the phone number, determines an edge cost associated with the phone edge for the first user, determines whether to provide the phone edge to the first user based on the edge cost, and provides the phone edge to the first user responsive to a positive determination.
Abstract: Aspects of this disclosure are directed to a method of routing toll-free telephone calls using a toll-free exchange, thereby minimizing the number of hand-offs, increasing the technological capability and reducing the ultimate cost of the toll-free call. Toll-free subscribers are generally assessed a cost based on each exchange plus the duration of the call. Subscribers are also limited to the decades old technological standards of PSTN switching. It is therefore an object of the present disclosure to minimize the number of exchanges, promote technological possibility and simplify the process of directing a toll-free telephone call by providing a toll-free exchange.
Abstract: Various embodiments relate generally to providing upcoming event notification and mobile purchasing and, more specifically but not exclusively relate to a system and methods for providing notifications of upcoming events to users of an online secondary ticket marketplace and allowing the users to purchase tickets to upcoming events using a mobile device. In one embodiment, a network-based system may receive a registration request from a user to receive alert notifications for upcoming events. The registration request may comprise a telephone number for a mobile device of the user. The network-based system may send an alert notification for an upcoming event to the mobile device of the user over a mobile telephone network. The alert notification may comprise a text message including relevant static or dynamic event information as well as an embedded hyperlink for allowing the user to transact a mobile purchase.
Abstract: Embodiments of the present application provide a method for a handover without a default bearer. A first network device sends a relocation request to a second network device. The second network device establishes a connection to a third network device indicated by the relocation request, and sends a response to the first network device and indicates that data is to be sent by using a signaling plane. Then the first network device instructs a source network device to forward the data to a target network device according to a forwarding mode indicated by a handover command. Alternatively, after the second network device establishes the connection to the third network device indicated by the relocation request, the third network device caches data, and after a handover of user equipment is completed, the third network device sends the cached data to the second network device.
Abstract: A method and associated systems for improving robustness of a cellular network. A topology of the cellular network is represented as an undirected graph that represents base stations as nodes and represents communication paths between base stations as edges. Each node is associated with a “synergistic” version of a Shapley value proportional to an amount of network disturbance that would occur if that value's corresponding base station should fail. The synergistic nature of the synergistic Shapley values allows them to account for scenarios in which multiple base stations fail at the same time. A synergistic Shapley value of a particular node is derived as a function of how many of the shortest paths between nodes of the graph lengthen when the node's corresponding base station fails. Base stations and nodes associated with higher synergistic Shapley values are deemed to be “censorious” and in need of reconfiguration.

Abstract: A device can communicate wirelessly with another device in a wireless communication system and is arranged to receive configuring information defining a detach configuration. By using the detach configuration, the device can autonomously perform an implicit detach operation thus terminating a communication link between the device and the other device. Optionally, when the detach configuration includes an explicit detach mode, the device transmits an indicating signal indicating the detach operation. The indicating signal transmitted by the device may comprise a DETACH REQUEST message. Preferably the device can store the configuring information and can store program information, and can perform the detach operation by using the stored program information and the stored configuring information.
Abstract: The present application provides a communication control apparatus, an authentication device, a central control apparatus and a communication system.
Abstract: A method and system for completing the authentication process in a second communication network (such as Wi-Fi or WiMAX) utilizes a user credential of a first communication network, such as GSM, UMTS, CDMA, or LTE. Preferably, the user credential is a SIM card, a USIM card, a R-UIM card, or a functionally similar component. The system includes a client and an authentication platform that retrieves Service State information of the user credential in the first communication network and passes the information to the authentication platform of the second communication network. The client is granted access to the second communication network after the authentication platform validates the client's service and subscription status with the first communication network.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided for determining whether to handover a device to mitigate uplink interference while achieving acceptable uplink service quality in a wireless network. One or more parameters related to a device can be evaluated to determine whether to handover the device, such as a number of transmission power reports received from the device over a period of time, a frame error rate, setpoint, or power control commands related to the uplink of the device, a received pilot signal strength at the device, an uplink throughput or buffer size at the device, etc., from which transmit power information of the device can be inferred for determining whether the device potentially interferes with access points or devices. Based on the one or more parameters, an access point can determine whether handing over the device may mitigate such uplink interference while ensuring uplink service quality, and accordingly handover the device.

Abstract: Advertisement vendors can be dynamically selected in response to a request from a wireless communication device. A mediation router can receive an ad request from a portal interfaced with a wireless device. Specifically, the mediation router analyzes the request and dynamically selects an ad vendor to service the request, based in part on the analysis. The selected ad vendor supplies the ad and the mediation router ensures that the portal receives the ad. The mediation router selects an ad vendor in a variety of ways including, but not limited to, business decision rules or artificial intelligence and/or a combination thereof. The mediation router further employs customer profiles that help vendors target advertisements to specific consumers and wireless devices.
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for selecting from various mechanisms for displaying a message directed to particular user(s) and/or user account(s). The mechanism by which the message may be displayed may be determined based at least in part on prediction of the importance and/or a prediction of a time criticality of the message to the user(s) to whom the message is to be delivered. The message may be received or generated by a hub user device. If the hub user device is not in the process of displaying any content on a primary display screen associated with the hub user device, then the received or generated message may be displayed on the primary display screen.
