  • Patent number: 9503730
Abstract: A method of generating a reconstructed block is provided. A mode group indicator and a prediction mode index are entropy-decoded. A quantized block is inversely quantized using a quantization parameter and a quantization matrix to generate a transform block. The transform block is inversely transformed to generate a residual block. A Most Probable Mode (MPM) group including three intra prediction modes is constructed using a left intra prediction mode and an above intra prediction mode of a current prediction unit. An intra prediction mode of the current prediction unit is derived using the mode group indicator and the prediction mode index. Reference pixels of a current block are adaptively filtered according to a size of a transform unit and the intra prediction mode. The prediction block is generated according to the intra prediction mode. The reconstructed block is generated using the prediction block and the residual block.

  • Patent number: 9494781
Abstract: A novel method and system for conducting wide-field multi-photon microscopy through plane-projection are provided. It has been discovered that the limitations of conventional temporal-focusing techniques, such as single excitation wavelength and low acquisition rates can be resolved utilizing a novel optical set-up in which an optical diffuser is used as the scatterer. The use of such an optical arrangement enables temporal focusing regardless of the central wavelength of laser pulses. In addition, the optical sectioning possible using the disclosed microscopy is comparable to confocal microscopy, and can be robustly achieved by both moderate and high NA objectives at 100-fs pulse width. Moreover, the multi-photon excitation efficiency of the disclosed system can be enhanced by lowering the repetition rate of the ultrafast laser light source at constant pulse width and average power.

  • Patent number: 9489716
Abstract: A street-level imagery acquisition and selection process identifies which images are published in a street field view. An imagery database includes panoramas each corresponding to a set of images acquired from a single viewpoint. The panoramas are attached to corresponding positions on a road network graph. The graph is divided into a set of selection paths, each of which includes a topologically linear sequence of road segments. Each selection path is evaluated to select a set of panoramas to be published in the path. Panoramas of interior road segments are selected before panoramas at intersections. Selected panorama identifiers for each interior road segment of the selection paths and each intersection correspond to a position along the road network graph. The selected panorama identifiers are then published in the street field view.

  • Patent number: 9462183
Abstract: A rotating rotor in a turbine has blades attached. At least one blade is a reference blade of which a reference position is determined by a Once-Per-Rotation sensor. A camera positioned at a viewing port takes a sequence of images of all the blades during a rotation at a trigger moment determined by a controller. The controller receives a signal indicating that the reference blade passes its reference point. The controller is provided with data about the number of blades, the position of the camera and a desired dwell of an image related to the blade. The controller calculates the trigger moments and generates trigger signals to the camera. The trigger moment is adjusted for changing rotor speed by extracting a blade feature from blade images. The camera records images that are labeled and stored as image data on a storage device.
