Abstract: To produce a two-chamber arrangement having a first chamber, which is filled with a first component, and a second chamber, which is filled with a second component, two separate bags are sterilized and filled independently of each other with the first/second component. Only after the bags have been sterilized and filled are they connected to each other in such a way that the component contained in one chamber can be transferred into the other chamber so as to be able to mix the two components together. Once they have been filled, the first and second bags are preferably sealed with an openable peel seam, after which the bag ends are welded together.

Abstract: A door for a wafer carrier having a latching mechanism with a rotatable actuating member. The rotatable actuating member is actuated from outside the wafer carrier using a key inserted into a key slot in the rotatable actuating member. The key slot is formed in an hourglass shape and comprised of abrasion resistant material to reduce generation of particulate contaminants.

Abstract: A packaging system for producing a foam-in-bag cushion upon demand includes a bag of flexible plastic film and defining therein an enclosed space which is vented to the outside of the bag, a foam precursor packet positioned at a predetermined location within the enclosed space in the bag and being formed of a barrier material. The packet includes first and second compartments with a first frangible seal separating the first and second compartments which when ruptured will permit the contents of the compartments to be mixed to form a foam cushion and a second frangible seal between one of the compartments and the enclosed space in the bag. A first foam precursor component is contained in the first compartment of the packet and a second foam precursor component is contained in the second compartment of the packet.

Abstract: A reclosable package for storing elongated items, such as one or more sticks of chewing gum, includes a container having an opening for accessing an interior region of the container. The container has sidewalls that surround the interior region of the container and that extend from the opening toward a bottom wall of the container. The reclosable package also has one or more dividers disposed in the interior region of the container and extending between the container opening and the bottom wall. The one or more dividers define elongated slots adapted for receiving the elongated items in an upright orientation. A cap is hingedly connected to one of the sidewalls of the container. The cap is movable between a closed position in which the cap covers the elongated items stored in the container and an open position wherein the elongated items are accessible through the opening of the container.

The packaging includes a flexible pocket having a hollow interior, an opening extending into the interior, a flap for covering the opening, and a closure positioned on the pocket and/or the flap for releasably holding the flap in a closed position. The closure permits the flap to be positioned in a different location on the pocket during successive closings when successive articles are removed from the interior of the pocket to permit the packaging to conform to the remaining articles in the interior of the pocket.

Abstract: A connector module designed to be positioned on a carrying belt is disclosed. The module includes pins 30 for engaging in holes made on the carrying belt. The module and carrying belt assembly is designed to be used in a machine for automatically wiring connectors into bundles of cables and notably cables of the flexible circuit type.

Abstract: A storage container for a disc-shaped item of recorded media includes a base and a lid that is hingedly connected to the base and moveable between open and closed positions. The lid does not cover the entire surface area of the base when the lid is closed. The areas that are not covered are holding tabs that allow the base to be easily held by one hand while the other hand opens the lid and removes the disc. The base includes a hub that has a low overall height that reduces the overall thickness of the storage container.

Abstract: A container for artist's pastels which is comprised of a rectangular pad onto which is attached an elastic loop system. Pastels are inserted into the loops of the elastic. To close, the pad is rolled up from the bottom and placed into aperture of the pouch that is attached to the top of the pad. Abstract: A juice absorbing food package comprising a tray having a bottom bounded by an upwardly extending lip around the perimeter of the bottom and a liquid-absorbing pad comprised of polymer foam joined to the bottom of said tray, wherein the polymer foam is open cell foam. The tray of the juice absorbing package is overwrapped with gas permeable film, and may be provided with an oxygen absorbing substance therein. Alternatively, the overwrapped tray may be placed in a sealed barrier bag that is subsequently purged with a non-oxidizing gas such as carbon dioxide.

Abstract: Combined packages including a plurality of complementary containers are disclosed. A first such container is a first generally rectanguloidal container that contains a first item and a second such container is a second generally rectanguloidal container that contains a second item that is different from and complementary to the first item. A packaging material at least partially surrounds each of the containers, thus holding the container in mutual abutment. A combined package can also include an adhesive between the containers that holds a face of the first container and a face of the second container in mutual abutment. To facilitate palletizing the combined packages, the overall shape of the combined package can be generally rectanguloidal. The first container can have a plurality of faces, each of which is generally coplanar with a respective face of the second container. Apparatus and methods for manufacturing such combined packages are also disclosed.

Abstract: The clam shell container is formed by a cover formed of cardboard, chipboard or other similar material. A thermoform plastic tray is adhered to the inner surface of the cover to form the completed clam shell container. When closed, the edges of the tray move closer to the edges of the cover. The thermoform is bonded to the tray with adhesive and the container is closed to allow the adhesive to cure in the closed configuration. When opened, stress is created by the tray being fixed to the cover. To alleviate the stress, perforations between the tray sections and the spine break forming three distinct sections. In the open configuration, a small gap is created between the tray section and the spine.

Abstract: A multifunctional box for facilitating the safe transport of the box and a plurality of unused syringes therein. The box further facilitates the safe sequential dispensing of unused syringes from the box, with concurrent facilitation of the safe sequential feeding of used syringes into the box for safe storage therein. The box includes a container having an open top and an exit opening near the bottom sized to permit sequential withdrawal therethrough of either unused syringes and/or packets of syringes. A dividing tray is provided within the container which is used to collect used syringes while simultaneously to provide a blockage between the used syringes and the exit opening. A cover is attached to open top of the container and supports a used syringe feed means which has a first preselected position for receiving a used syringe, which then is moveable to a second preselected position for feeding used syringes into the tray for safe storage.

The visual reference system includes a first and a second elements of information. The first element of information is indicative of a scale of reference establishing a range of values of a certain characteristic of the sanitary absorbent article in the package. The second element of information is indicative of a certain degree or level on the scale of reference. The certain characteristic can be the liquid absorption capacity of the sanitary absorbent article.
