Abstract: A foldable document file box with an adjustable volume which can be folded in a flat configuration for easier storage, having two half shells joined by releasable closure elements to permit adjustment of the volume defined by the half shells. The half shells are connected so that they can be placed in a flat configuration while remaining connected. Detent elements are provided to adjust the volume of the document file box in a stepped manner.
Abstract: A package, comprising a container (1) which contains a liquid (2) and a substance (8), such as a flavourant or nutrient additive, enclosed in an openable capsule (4) or the like, which substance is intended to be mixed with the liquid, where the liquid is intended to be heated in the package, prior to use, and wherein the capsule is liquid tight sealed by means of a temperature dependent bonding agent (10) which is active at temperatures up to a value, in applicable cases, slightly below the temperature to which the container contents are intended to be heated prior to being served. The package is characterized particularly in that the capsule (4) comprises two separate portions (5, 6) which are joined to each other along a continuous joining line by means of the temperature dependent bonding agent (10) and which are so arranged and disposed in the container (1) that they become mutually displaced and separated entirely, as the bonding agent has been made inactive by heating.
Abstract: A bag assembly includes a bag body and a valve unit. The bag body confines a receiving space and is formed with a vent hole. The valve unit is provided in the vent hole and includes an upper sheet and a lower sheet which are heat-sealed to the bag body and which cooperatively confine an air passage that is communicated with the receiving space. The upper and lower sheets of the valve unit have opposing inner surfaces which are electrostatically charged such that the upper and lower sheets normally adhere to each other via an electrostatic attraction at the inner surfaces thereof, thereby closing the air passage of the valve unit.
Abstract: A device for holding the protective sheath of at least one hypodermic needle to permit recapping in a single-handed operation includes a hollow receptacle formed with a cavity which contains a deformable support material. The support material is penetrable by the sheath to embed the tip portion thereof in the support material and thereby hold the sheath in a substantially fixed position relative to the receptacle while the needle is withdrawn from or inserted into the sheath. The device also includes a contact adhesive on its base surface to selectively attach the device to a solid object to stabilize the receptacle during use.
Abstract: An end cap packaging component having a first pair of generally rectangular elements appropriately disposed at two sides thereof and a second pair of generally rectangular elements appropriately disposed at the remaining two sides thereof. The first and second pairs of elements are interconnected at their peripheries to form an interior element directly coupled to the first and second pairs of elements. All of such elements are inflatable and deflatable using an appropriately postioned valve. Each of the elements has one or more non-inflatable regions therein and further non-inflatable regions are located where the interior element is coupled to the first and second pairs of elements. When inflated, the component can be folded to form an end cap shaped configuration which encloses the end portion of a product for providing a firm and snug fit thereon which then acts as a retaining cushion therefor the product is then placed in a shipping container.
Abstract: A component collective includes component holders respectively holding components therein and connected to one another in the form of a tape carrier. Each of holders is provided with a cavity to accommodate the component, a lid for shutting an opening of the cavity, and a keeping device for keeping the lid at a closed position. An apparatus for feeding the component collective includes a device for transferring the component collective, a device for forcibly opening the lid means of the component holder transferred to a predetermined position, and a device for forcibly closing the lid of the component holder after a component is removed from the cavity.

Abstract: A first break line is formed at a front part of a paper box for storing a film cartridge. Second and third lines connected with the first break line are formed on a top part (lid). The second and third break lines incline toward both edges of the top part. Fourth and fifth break lines connected with the second and third break lines are formed along a ridge part toward both corners of the top part. When the paper box is opened, the first break line is broken to lift the top part, the second and third break lines are broken by the lifting action. Then, the fourth and fifth break lines are broken sequentially, so that the paper box is opened. Therefore, the paper box can be opened on the first attempt.
Abstract: A compact disc holder for use with a book, storage container and the like has a compact disc holder tray and transparent plastic compact disc holder cover. The cover is hingedly connected to the tray and protects the compact disc before and after purchase.

Abstract: A wrap-around carrier suitable for packaging tub-shaped articles which have recessed bottom portions. The bottom panel is formed from an inner flap to which article retainer flaps are hinged and an outer flap to which secondary locking tabs are hinged. The retainer flaps are pivoted into the interior of the carrier by the locking tabs and include edges which contact the bottom portions of adjacent articles and also foldable retainer tabs which also contact the bottom portions. A projection on the locking tabs extends through an opening in the retainer flap and the end edge of the locking tab supports the retainer flap. A further opening in the retainer flap receives a locking tab shoulder to prevent withdrawal of the locking tab. A slit in the inner bottom panel flap allows passage of another locking tab shoulder which engages the inner bottom panel flap to further prevent withdrawal.

Abstract: The tray is designed to hold medical and dental instruments in firm and parallel alignment during transport and sterilization and to be opened for ready withdrawal or placing of such instruments. It includes a main part in the form of a rectangular bottom surrounded by upstanding rims along both side edges and along its rear edge of which the rear rim is higher than the side rims and forms a channel-shaped pocket configured to cover the heads of the instruments. Two serrated strips are firmly attached to the bottom in parallel spaced-apart alignment with the serrations serving to support and hold the instruments in position. A trough-shaped front cover is pivotally attached to the side rims and can be swung from a top position covering the front ends of the instruments into a position underneath the bottom serving to raise the front of the tray into rearwardly inclined position.
Abstract: A display container is formed from a unitary sheet material and comprises a receptacle for receiving the product and a display flag. The receptacle has a floor and a plurality of upright side walls attached thereto that define a product cavity which has an open upper end. The display flag comprises a cantilevered shaft member attached to an upper edge of one of the upright side walls and extending generally horizontally therefrom over a portion of the product cavity upper end, and further comprises a flag member attached to an end of the shaft member and extending generally vertically therefrom. In this configuration, the flag member can dangle in a position to catch a consumer's attention; however, no assembly of parts by a retail store employee is required.
Abstract: There is provided an inflatable cushion inflated through a single inflation valve. A pair of inflated panels held in place by at least one tie strap connecting the panels rest beneath each end of the bottom of an article to be protected. The cushion has a pair of inflatable end chambers interconnected to the bottom panels and a pair of inflatable side chambers interconnected to the end chambers, which when inflated protect the ends and sides of the article. This is facilitated by internal openings which allow the inflated panels to easily bend underneath the ends of the article and around the corners. There are recesses at each corner which extend from each corner of one internal opening toward a peripheral edge of the cushion to provide a wedge-like portion of the side chambers. In one of the embodiments, an additional pair of internal openings facilitates a pair of top inflatable chambers interconnected to the end chambers to rest on the top of the article.
Abstract: A tabless container closure for a compartmentalized container with a cover and a base. The cover includes a sidewall and a rim coupled thereto. The rim has a depression that fits within an opening in a sidewall of the base. The rim depression and opening provide a snap-fit closure to releasably connect the cover and base. In a second aspect, the compartments of the container are closed off from one another such that the contents of a given compartment substantially remain therein, even after a perturbation of the container. In a third aspect, a divider separating the compartments is bowed to enhance the structural integrity of the base.

Abstract: The invention is concerned with a packaging insert device adapted to prevent contact between a product and its container so as to support the product in a position in which shocks to the packaged product caused by, for example, dropping the package, are absorbed by the resilient properties of stiffly resilient lightweight plastics spacer devices received in apertures formed in end panel pieces, collars and the like formed of cardboard or other suitable insert material. A spacer device may comprise at least one protuberance projecting from a plate member and passing through a respective aperture of the plate member. Preferably multiple spacer devices comprise two or more plate members joined at a hinge line so that the plate members can be arranged, for example, into an L-shape to bridge corners and abutting edges of said end pieces or collars.
