Abstract: A ridged, transparent, thermoplastic package for transporting disk products such as substrate wafers, semi-conductor wafers or computer memory disks is disclosed. Elastomeric or flexible thermoplastic cushions hold the disk products in a manner which precludes them from becoming damaged during normal shipping and handling. The cushions have a plurality of disk engaging members which individually engage a disk. The disk engaging member conforms to the edge profile of the substrate wafer to securely hold the wafer. Wafer rotation is eliminated, particle generation is reduced and the cushions securely hold the disk products.

Abstract: An airtight cigar package made up of rectangular, transparent front and rear sheets, which are made of 3 mil gauge polyethylene. The sheets are heat-sealed together to form an airtight envelope. The envelope has a head portion where a paper label is affixed. Sealingly stored within the envelope are four individually wrapped cigars with support members between and alongside the cigars to prevent crushing of the cigars during package transport and storage.

Abstract: A wheel retaining device for retaining a plurality of replacement wheels. The wheel retaining device includes an elongate body dimensioned for insertion through apertures formed in the wheels and retainers positioned proximate opposite ends of the elongate body for retaining the wheels on the elongate body. The wheel retaining device includes a locking mechanism for securing the wheels on the elongate body.

Abstract: A color reference system for correlating colors to decorating parameters for an area. The system includes a color reference card for storage of a color sample and an associated identifier for correlating the color sample to an identifier. Area reference cards for different rooms or locations include decorating parameters such as primary, accent, and accessory color identifiers. When a color sample corresponds to a decorating parameter for a location, its identifier is recorded in association with the decorating parameter. The system may be transported to a decorating or paint store for efficient reference. By looking at a decorating parameter for an area and using the color identifier to find the color sample on the color reference card, a user can quickly find a color sample for comparison purposes without carrying color palettes having color samples which do not correspond to colors in an area to be decorated.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a container for a plurality of discs, particularly compact discs, which comprises a tray-like body having, on its bottom, a first flat surface and a second flat surface arranged side by side and at different levels. The container comprises a first swing-out frame, pivoted to the tray and accommodatable at the first flat surface, and a second swing-out frame, pivoted to the tray and partially accommodatable on the second flat surface so that the remaining part overlaps, and is spaced from, the first frame accommodated on the first flat surface. Each frame supports two discs on opposite faces.

Abstract: The invention provides a method of stowing a rope or the like. The method comprises the steps of: placing a first looped portion of a rope in a longitudinally extending cavity; and placing successive adjacent looped portions of the rope in respective next adjacent longitudinally extending cavities. The method employs a device which may comprise a number of tubular members defining the rope stowing cavities arranged in juxtaposed relationship. Alternatively, the device may comprise a housing, the interior of which is subdivided to provide the rope stowing cavities. The rope end device combination of the invention is intended as an emergency tow pack for a sea-going vessel.

Abstract: A carrying and/or uniting device (1), designed for mainly parallelepiped-shaped packages (4), having outer fastening tapes (8), provided with glue and designed to fasten the device onto a set of packages (49). The device is subdivided into plurality of longitudinal or horizontal sections (12, 14), which are separated from each other by means of folding indications, designed as perforations or the like and/or tearing-off tapes or the like (11, 16, 18). At least one of these sections is provided with one or several recesses (13) with a carrying and/or information function. The device is close to the tearing-off indication provided with transverse perforations (9) for dividing up and consequently detaching separate packages from a set of packages, which are united by a device. In accordance with the invention the applied device with the carrying function has a rhomboidal open shape.

Abstract: A tool box including a rectangular container having a rear wall and two side walls, an upper elongated angular member fixedly mounted on an upper portion of the rear wall, a lower elongated angular member fixedly mounted on a lower portion of the rear wall, a plurality of vertically disposed rectangular panels having a vertical edge pivotally connected between the upper and lower elongated angular members and formed with a plurality of recesses each on an upper edge close to an upper outer corner thereof and a plurality of holes thereon, a positioning rod extending through the two side walls and engaged with the recesses, and a plurality of hooks detachably fitted in the holes respectively, whereby the tools in the tool box are easily accessible than in conventional tool boxes.

Abstract: A packaging bag for wrapping a product with an outwardly extended projection has a side sealing portion and opposite end margin sealing portions. The side margin sealing portion is formed by heat-sealing lengthwise side margins of wrapping sheet into a shape of a rectangular tube. The end margin sealing portions are formed by heat-sealing opposite end margins of the rectangular tube. A notch is provided at an edge of the first end margin sealing portion near the side margin sealing portion to make an opening in the package by tearing at least the side margin sealing portion. A tray is provided for removing the product from the packaging bag and for protecting the outwardly extended projection of the product.

Abstract: A bottle carrier having a suitcase-type handle connected to the top panel by spaced fold line segments. The top panel of the carrier includes apertures adjacent the outer ends of the outer fold line segments. Tabs at the outer ends of the handle extend through the apertures into the interior of the carrier, thereby preventing tearing at the handle when lifting and carrying the carrier. The top panel is comprised of partially overlapping top panel sections, and a central tab integral with the overlapping top panel section extends through the central opening of the suitcase type handle.

Abstract: A container or "card cage" for rectangular printed circuit boards. The container includes a pair of rectangular vertical end caps which are removably connected by horizontal beams. The horizontal beams have spaced transverse slots for receiving the corners of printed circuit boards and for supporting the printed circuit boards within the enclosure in a spaced relationship. In one form of the container, each beam comprises a rigid connecting rail which is removably connected to the end caps and a spacing rail which is slidably mounted on the rigid connecting rail for longitudinal movement between an inner position within the container and an outer position substantially outside of the container with one of the end caps removed. Each spacing rail contains the transverse slots for receiving the printed circuit boards.

Abstract: An open top container for attachment to an upright metallic surface having a one-piece body and magnetic tape on the back panel, interlocking flaps forming the bottom panel, and an adhesive coated tab securing the body in assembled relation. The blank for forming the one-piece body also is disclosed.

Abstract: A compact disc storage container comprising a front cover, a center plate, and a rear cover, mutually attached perimetrically. The front cover and center plate define an album cover pocket; the rear cover and center plate define a compact disc pocket. The front cover is transparent to allow an album cover enclosed in the album cover pocket to be read through the front cover. The rear cover comprises a rear cover tab attached to the rear cover at an angle, to facilitate the insertion of CDs into the compact disc pocket. The center plate incorporates a ramped post which retains a CD within the compact disc pocket. The flexible material of which the center plate is fabricated, in combination with a rear cover second cutout, permits CDs to be inserted and withdrawn from the compact disc storage container using only one hand.

Abstract: Retaining flaps for shipping cartons, with bonding material disposed on at least a portion of the flaps, are provided. The flaps are interposed between delicate items, such as, for example, floral grouping assemblies, to hold the delicate items essentially immobile within a shipping carton in order to prevent damage from internal movement of the delicate items when the shipping carton is transported. The bonding material disposed on the flaps releasably connects to portions of the floral grouping wrappings and to portions of the internal surface of the shipping carton.

Abstract: A receptacle (10) is constructed having first and second broad sides connected along side and bottom edges (12) and (14), respectively. These sides are in turn constructed of an outer layer (28) of flexible, durable fabric material, and in one embodiment, an inner layer (26) of the fabric material. In this embodiment, a barrier material (24) may be placed between the inner and outer layers of at least one of the sides. In a preferred embodiment, a flap closure (20) configured as a cuff (40) extends from one of the sides adjacent opening (18), and folds over opening (18) so as to close the opening.

Abstract: A package and storage unit includes a tray slidable within an endoskeleton/exoskeleton frame. The edge of each surface of the endoskeleton/exoskeleton frame includes a cavity/recess and protrusions to hold a wrapped paperboard with graphics to be wrapped around the frame. Slots on three edges of the rear of the frame receive a folded rear portion of the paperboard. The tray includes a spring with a ledge and two protrusions to securely hold and easily remove the disk from the tray. In an alternative embodiment, the frame includes a pair of parallel pushers, and the tray includes a pair of guides. The arrangement of the pair of pushers and guides is used to securely hold and easily remove the disk from the tray. Both the frame and tray include contour portions to latch the tray in an open or closed position in the frame. A locking mechanism has a housing with parallel flanges to overlie a portion of the faces and a side of the frame and to prevent the tray from being withdrawn from the frame.

Abstract: A tray for holding a compact disc wherein the tray comprises a plate having a central region, an annular array of fingers in the central region for receiving the opening of the compact disc and an impact resistance shield within and below the annular array of fingers for receiving impact forces directed toward the fingers and for distributing the forces to the plate so as to protect the fingers from breakage upon impact. The impact resistance shield comprises a central body portion or core and a plurality of radially outwardly extending arms or tentacles located between adjacent fingers and extending into the plate. During impact the central body portion or core radiates the energy of impact directly outwardly and acts as a buffer for the fingers. The central core has a concave outwardly directed face positioned below the tips of the fingers which allows room for the fingers moving downwardly without hinderance for easy removal of the compact disc.

Abstract: Disclosed is a two-in-one paper dish and cup holder which includes a paper-made dish, a cup holder integrally formed to one side of the dish, a thermal insulating pad disposed in the cup holder adjacent to the paper dish, and an arcuate connecting portion extending between the dish and the cup holder at one side thereof. The paper dish, the cup holder and the arcuate connecting portion together define a thumb hole for a thumb to upward extend therethrough, such that a user may hold food and drink or soup at the same time with only one hand by using the two-in-one paper dish and cup holder. The thermal insulating pad may be downward bent to locate between a hot or cold cup held in the cup holder and a back of the user's hand.

Abstract: A surgical blade package includes a molded piece and a surgical blade mechanically restrained thereon, forming a subassembly, and this subassembly is received within a pouch. The pouch includes a base opaque paper and an upper transparent plastic "blister" sealed together. The method of manufacturing the surgical blade package includes the steps of providing a molded piece and a surgical blade, attaching the surgical blade onto the molded piece, such that the surgical blade is restrained mechanically, providing a pouch or other container receiving the molded piece and the surgical blade attached thereto, sealing the container, and sterilizing the container with the surgical blade and molded piece therein.
