  • Patent number: 10240376
Abstract: A support arm having a proximate support arm segment, a distal support arm segment, a hinge system; and at least one rotation limit stop secured to the hinge system to limit the extent of angular motion of the proximate support arm segment, the distal support arm segment or both, with respect to the hinge system. The rotation limit stop includes a first stop component and a second stop component slidable with respect to the first stop component. When the second stop component encounters a contact point on one of the support arm segments, the angular motion of the arm segment with respect to the hinge system is at a maximum. The second stop component can be secured in a plurality of positions with respect to the first stop component by an adjustment component.

  • Patent number: 10209043
Abstract: When combined with a metal point, this ten inch plastic pistol crossbow bolt is designed to extend past the barrel of a pistol crossbow so it can be used for recreational shooting, competition shooting, small game hunting, pistol crossbow fishing and pistol crossbow scuba fishing. The main fault of the standard bolt for a pistol crossbow is they are less than seven inches in length and do not extend past the end of a pistol crossbow barrel. Therefore, their use is limited to target points and recreational shooting only. Other faults of the standard short bolts are their high travel speed. They are very difficult to be viewed in flight, causing most bolts to be lost after one use. Also, their irretrievability from any commonly used target. Therefore, they cannot be found and scored in any type of shooting competition. This ten inch bolt is a solid one piece unit made of a strong but, light weight plastic compound. It has a NOCK to securely hold the bow string in place. Most bolts do not have a nock.

  • Patent number: 10189550
Abstract: The present invention relates to two configurations of structure for a compact, pedal-propelled boat, a recumbent configuration and a conventional configuration, and to two possible propulsion systems, one with rigid transmission system and other with flexible transmission system. Both configurations are used with hulls arranged in parallel, catamaran configuration, preferably inflatable, allowing the volume and size of the assembly to be reduced so as to fit in a car trunk, making it easier to transport and store. In the recumbent configuration, the boat driver is in a sitting position, with his back supported by the seat, and actuates the pedals located in the front part of the structure while maneuvers the boat by means of handlebars located on the sides of the structure. In the conventional configuration, the boat driver is in the same position as the rider of a conventional bicycle, and the seat, pedals and handlebar are arranged in the same positions as in a bicycle.

  • Patent number: 10180153
Abstract: A device includes first and second inter-engageable parts, each having a longitudinal axis and a connecting face extending substantially transversely to the longitudinal axis. The first part has an engagement formation extending substantially axially and the second part has a receiving formation extending substantially axially, and in which the engagement formation is receivable. The engagement and receiving formations each includes a substantially helicoidal surface extending at least partially around the longitudinal axis of the respective part of the connector, so that rotation of the parts relative to one another about the longitudinal axes, when the parts are substantially co-axially aligned, so that the connecting faces of the parts face one another in a substantially axial direction, causes engagement of the engagement formation with the corresponding receiving formation.

  • Patent number: 10167776
Abstract: The present invention is directed to improved designs and methods for improving engine fuel efficiency by providing two-stage engine variable compression in running engines using connecting rod force reversals to rotate eccentric bushings to change the connecting rod length. Compression ratio changes are initiated by shifting a block-mounted cam such that it engages and flips a bi-stable toggle on the connecting rod. The clutch mechanism latches the eccentric at the eccentric rotation end point, whereupon the connecting rod acts as a rigid rod. The invention includes novel configurations of the lubricated journal bearing between the connecting rod and the eccentric that modify the squeeze film bearing effects and resulting friction. These configurations reduce the peak eccentric torque carried by the clutch mechanism while facilitating eccentric rotation at lower torque.

  • Patent number: 10160252
Abstract: A system for externally binding flat media by hand for presentation purposes without a need for creating a spine, hole-punching paper, permanent covers or insertion into pre-constructed sleeves. It employs a slim, external bar, placed in the margin area on the front side of a flat media stack and a rigid backing board on the rear side. The entire assembly is held together firmly by threaded bolts and adjoining screw posts that are adjusted depending upon the quantity of sheets included and their thicknesses. The stack is compressed and decompressed by tightening or loosening the threaded bolts whenever sheets are added or removed. The low-profile system firmly grips sheets with unlikely slippage, requires no heat or adhesives, and provides the ease of turning the pages or sheets as typical in a perfect-bound book. It accommodates common lengths of paper stock and fabric swatches, and multiple thicknesses within the same stack.

  • Patent number: 10158954
Abstract: This invention describes virtual shaping the canal area of an ear impression for custom ear inserts with a set of predetermined adjustable templates. There are two types of templates: AP and SI. AP templates are used to model the canal area in the anterior-posterior plane. SI templates are used to model the canal in the superior-inferior plane. The modeling software selects a set of AP and SI templates with curvatures most suitable for a given ear and fits them in the canal area of the ear impression. These templates form a frame that is surfaced and becomes a virtual 3D model of the custom insert. Anatomically accurate curvatures of templates ensure a superior fit of the resulting ear insert and eliminate common inaccuracies that occur in computer-aided impression shaping.

  • Patent number: 10105275
Abstract: A device for performing ankle-based inversion postures. A primary loop in combination with retainer loops forms an ankle enclosure which contracts in response to the application of load tension. An expansion of the ankle enclosure occurs when an upward force is applied to it with a simultaneous application of downward force on the release loop. A linkage between the lowest points on the primary and release loops transfers applied tension between these components to ensure a smooth expansion action of the ankle enclosure. A connector loop forms a topmost location on the device and is the junction point for the mounting loop which anchors the device to support structures for its use.
