Abstract: A motorized stretching machine for enabling a user to perform stretches targeting areas throughout their body includes a metal base frame with an integral slide track on which a motor driven foot rest apparatus is mounted, a plurality of hand grip frames that enables many different hand grips, and a plurality of foot stands. A plurality of push buttons are disposed in various locations on the right side and left side to allow the user to control the operation of the motor driven foot rest apparatus. The varied positioning of the push buttons facilitates full control during stretches and full stability because the user can hold onto other parts of the machine to assist with balance while actuating the motor control buttons. Advantageously, the overall design helps users engage selected muscle groups without losing balance or flexing any other muscles so the user can enjoy a full stretch.
Abstract: A modular assembly set system for use in modular constructions suitable for behavioral research made of a polycarbonate, acrylic or other material walls with magnetic edges, joints and parts with a support base (floor) made of magnetically active metal sheet glued over a plastic inert polymer surface (or one of similar inert properties). The system comprises a multi-piece set that allows the building of different mazes or structures for use in behavioral, memory and health sciences studies. The magnetic edges of the walls along with joints and other pieces attaches to the metal base (floor) and permits to modularly build any configuration. The use of this device can be extended to virtually any kind of modular construction (toys, provisional constructions, stands and other low weight assemblies). The walls and floor set can be used many times, and assemble and disassemble as required.

Abstract: A shaft-gear connection comprises a shaft and a shrunk-on gear that has an axial first section, attached by a first shrink-fit bond, and an axial second section, attached by a second shrink-fit bond. The second shrink-fit bond is greater than the first shrink-fit bond so that a greater maximum torque to be transmitted from the gear to the shaft by the second shrink-fit bond than by the first shrink-fit bond. An axial intermediate section, attached by a third shrink-fit bond, is located between the axial first section and the axial second section. Both a surface pressure and a maximum torque that can be transmitted by the third shrink-fit bond are greater than the surface pressure and the maximum torque that can be transmitted by the first shrink-fit bond, but are less than the surface pressure and the maximum torque that can be transmitted by the second shrink-fit bond.
Abstract: A security barrier for use in a water location includes a plurality of barrier units, each having a plurality of individual panels; toppers attached between the barrier units for connecting the barrier units to one another and for disengaging the barrier units from one another when an impact occurs on the security barrier; butt plates attached between the toppers; a rope and a tube containing the rope for connecting individual panels; and a vertical pin for engaging the toppers and the butt plates.
Abstract: A redundant release apparatus having a multi-segment split spool with a central bore adapted to axially restrain a tensioned member. Two tensioned tapes are overlappingly wound around the spool segments thereby preventing radial movement of the spool segments. Overlapping winding design of each of the tapes provide predictable unwinding dynamics upon release. The multiple segments require less radial motion for release of the tensioned member.

Abstract: A push-in connector provides for easy manufacturing and assembly using a flat-stamped flexible retainer clip. The retainer clip is inserted into the connector and flexes to snap-fit within in the connector. The flex of the clip also flexes wings of the clip which engage with a receiving boss. The flexion of the clip allows for easy push-in of the connector and sufficient resistance to accidental pull-out. The push-in connector design eliminates the need for screw-mounting of the connector. The connector assembly may be manufactured for use in connection with a variety of ball studs, as well as other items such as shafts of various objects and wires, or may be used a fastener.
