  • Patent number: 7450966
Abstract: Basic personal data of an individual is stored as different data files based on content or intended use. The selection of personal data for inclusion in a data file may be performed in accordance with service provider requests or by the end user, preferably with the assistance of templates. Each data file is assigned a unique identifier and is preferably stored in a network server (or, alternatively, in the user's mobile device). The data files may be organized into groups according to content or intended use. For each of the stored files, a graphical symbol is stored in the user's mobile device. When displayed to the user, the symbol preferably resembles a card. Moreover, each group of data files is preferably displayed as a pack of cards. In this manner, the organization of the cards is such that the user can easily select a card needed to obtain a service.

  • Patent number: 7447515
Abstract: An apparatus and method for transmitting a control signal using a symbol or bit pattern of an existing pilot channel, instead of using the time multiplexing method in the separate code channel or the existing physical channel, and reducing an error rate while a reception side detects the control signal are provided. For that purpose, a transmission side allocates transmission power corresponding to a pilot pattern determined according to the control information. A corresponding reception side detects control information based on a pilot pattern of pilot bits inserted in a dedicated physical channel (DPCH) and generates transmit power control (TPC) bits referring to a target reception power which is set based on the control information.

  • Patent number: 7444167
Abstract: The present invention discloses a dual-band RF transceiver. The transceiver comprises a first module, used as the RF front-end of the dual-band transceiver and used for receiving and transmitting a first RF signal and a second RF signal; a second module, electrically connected to the first module, used as the IF IQ modulator/demodulator of the dual-band RF transceiver; a third module, electrically connected to the first and the second modules, used as the tripe-band phase-locked frequency synthesizer of the dual-band RF transceiver and used for providing a first local oscillating signal and a second local oscillating signal to the first module, and a third local oscillating signal to the second module. The dual-band RF transceiver according to the present invention realizes the dual-band triple-mode operation of IEEE802.11 a/b/g by a single dual-band RF module, and therefore the circuit size, power dissipation, component count, and cost can be dramatically reduced.

  • Patent number: 7440766
Abstract: A method of employing multipath propagation in wireless radio communications uses an omnidirectional transmitting/receiving antenna at one end of a transmission link to send an interrogating signal across an environment subject to multipath disturbances to a phase-conjugating retrodirective antenna, and the retrodirective antenna returns a communication signal along the multiple pathways taken by the interrogating signal to the omnidirectional antenna despite the multipath disturbances. In a simplex communication mode, the retrodirective antenna sends a return signal mixed with a communication signal to the omnidirectional antenna. In a duplex communication mode, both an omnidirectional antenna and a phase-conjugating retrodirective antenna are operated in tandem at each end of the transmission link to provide effective two-way wireless radio transmissions.

  • Patent number: 7433348
Abstract: A multi-node time division multiplexing (TDM) system is disclosed. The improved method and apparatus utilizes an asynchronous synchronization packet (ASP) to synchronize the timing in all the nodes of the system. In some embodiments, the ASP also maps the time slots in a data frame to particular nodes. The ASP is sent at the start of each data frame to all the nodes in the system and each node synchronizes itself to the time of receipt of the ASP, thus establishing frame-based timing for all the nodes. Additionally, the ASP can contain a table that maps the data frame time slots to the nodes in the system.
