  • Patent number: 4913011
Abstract: A snap-fit self-adjusting ratchet wrench which has two guided jaws which move linearly against each other along a guided pin, and which are hinged to a handle by pins. The hinges on the jaw to the handle are designed with override leverage wherein the gripping force is increased as the handle is swung in forward stroke and releases in back stroke to provide ratchet action. A return spring exerts force on the jaws for an automatic snapping on the workpiece. A locking mechanism may be provided by a fastening means for retaining the guiding pin to hold the jaw opening to a fixed predetermined position.

  • Patent number: 4905552
Abstract: The pipe rotary cutting device of this invention comprises shifter means which is operative to rotate a cylindrical body relative to a main shaft to thereby rotate an internal gear secured to the cylindrical shaft. The rotation of the internal gear rotates pinion gears secured to the main shaft to thereby rotate eccentric shafts provided coaxially with the pinion gears. Then the rotation of the eccentric shafts is converted by sliders into radial movements. A cutting tool as well as disc cutters are provided on the sliders respectively through a cutting tool holder and cutter holders. The pipe rotary cutting device of such arrangement enables the steps of chamfering and cutting to be carried out simultaneously, and accordingly the chamfering step of removing the outward burrs created in cutting a pipe is totally unnecessary.

  • Patent number: 4899627
Abstract: An arrangement for centering and clamping of work pieces comprises tension levers swingably supported on a base plate, the tension levers of which are arranged coaxially on a pivot, while the other tension lever is supported on a second pivot which has the same distance to the center of the arrangement as the hinge pin. The contact surfaces with which the tension levers grasp a work piece, are designed so that the perpendicular line extends on the particular tangent at the contact point between contact surface and work piece through the center of the arrangement. This forces the work piece, independently of its diameter, continuously into the center in the clamping process and, consequently, centers it. Due to the arrangement of the tension levers, inserting work pieces transversely to the chuck axis is possible in spite of the center clamping process.

  • Patent number: 4895057
Abstract: The known turn broaching of crankshaft main bearings is not suitable for broaching crankshaft bearing pins for the connecting rods because that would require locating the rotational axis of the crankshaft in the connecting rod bearing pins, whereby the crankshaft would rotate eccentrically. The resulting unbalances prevent driving the crankshaft with the r.p.m. required for the turn broaching operation. To avoid this problem a broaching lathe for the rotational or turn broaching of crankshaft connecting rod bearing pins is equipped with a steady rest including a rotating support device which permits mounting the crankshaft in the lathe in such a way that the rotational axis coincides with the axis of the connecting rod bearings of the crankshaft.

  • Patent number: 4892017
Abstract: A fuel system adjustment tool includes an elongated shaft and a rotatable rod disposed within the shaft. At one end of the rod is a drive that operably fits to an adjustment point on a carburetor. At the other end is a rotatable knob that produces a tactile engagement or clicking sensation at selected degrees of rotation, preferably every 180 degrees of rotation. The engagement is produced by a collar having a notch therein on the end of the shaft, and spring loaded balls in recesses on the interior of the knob. As the knob is rotated, one of the balls falls into the notch at the selected degree of rotation, but is releasable from the notch upon further rotation.

  • Patent number: 4884481
Abstract: In a device for facilitating the radial adjustment of a cutting edge member of a boring and turning tool with a rotatable adjusting ring (18) arranged on the outside of a tool-carrier housing, an extendible and retractable locking ram (42) can be extended from the spindle housing (7) of the machine tool, which locking ram in an extended position allows the adjusting ring to be movable to cause a radial adjustment of the cutting edge member and in a retracted position causing the adjusting ring (18) to be fixed with respect to the tool-carrier housing and the machine tool spindle (4) so that no radial adjustment is possible. The device can be automated, since the locking ram (42) can be controlled by a general machine control.
