  • Patent number: 4912808
Abstract: An assist strap is provided for attachment within spaced apart apertures on a vehicle body. The strap has mounting portions at the end thereof which space the strap from the vehicle body. Attaching legs are provided on each of the mounting portions and are adapted to extend through the apertures, each of the attaching legs having a foot at the end thereof projecting toward the opposite end of the strap so that the space between the feet is less than the spacing between the spaced apart apertures. The strap is constructed to permit flexure of the strap inwardly toward the body so that the feet of the attaching legs spread further apart than the spaced apart apertures of the body to permit insertion of the feet into the apertures whereby subsequent return of the strap to the normal spaced relation from the body causes the feet to engage with the body and thereby attach the assist strap on the body without the need for fasteners.

  • Patent number: 4909431
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for preparing a bonding wire, such as gold wire, drawn in contact-free manner from a bonding wire spool mounted in rotary manner about its longitudinal axis and supplied to a bonding device for forming circuits on electronic components. The apparatus constructed as a subassembly essentially comprises an electromotively-driven bonding wire spool carrier arranged on a support plate and a removal station provided with an optronic sensor. The bonding wire is deflected by means of air flows (P' or Q') for forming a bonding wire reserve in the removal station and the wire position is scanned by the optronic sensor. In the case of a decreasing bonding wire reserve, a signal is produced as a function of the bonding wire position, which is processed in a signal evaluation unit and is transmitted to a control unit, by means of which an electromotive drive operatively connected with the spool carrier is operated.

  • Patent number: 4908906
Abstract: The present invention provides an ambulatory assistance device such as a grab bar or the like which pivots between a non-in-use and an in-use position. The pivoting of the device is assisted by a torsion member acting between the base member and the body. The torsion device is selected so as to retain the body in its non-in-use position when placed in that position. The weight of the pivoting body of the present invention overcomes the force generated by the torsion member when the body is placed in the in-use position so as to retain that orientation. Moreover, the torsion member acts to assist the user of the device in counteracting the weight of the pivoting body member when the body member is moved between the non-in-used position and the in-use position.
