  • Patent number: 10766416
Abstract: To provide an alarm system for a vehicle that can appropriately raise an alarm to a driver of a vehicle that is entering an intersection. An alarm system 1 for a vehicle includes an alarm line setting part 51 that sets a right alarm line 61 and a left alarm line 62 both extending forward from a vehicle 2. The alarm line setting part 51 sets the length of the right alarm line 61 and the left alarm line 62 at L1 when the vehicle is running in a straight line. The alarm line setting part 51 sets the length of the right alarm line 61 or the left alarm line 62 at a length different from L1 when the vehicle 2 is to turn left or right at an intersection 83 to enter a first lane 81 or a second lane 82.

  • Patent number: 10759482
Abstract: An open-cabin vehicle is provided that makes it possible to enjoy the convenience provided by electronic devices while suppressing electric power consumption and also suppressing a reduction in the convenience of the open-cabin vehicle. An identification signal transmission unit inside an electric power control apparatus of an open-cabin vehicle intermittently transmits an identification signal (ID). A response signal reception unit receives a response signal (RE) that is transmitted from a portable terminal in response to the identification signal (ID) without any operation by a rider on the portable terminal or the open-cabin vehicle. When the response signal reception unit receives the response signal (RE), a command unit commands current conduction in a first electric power supply circuit and does not command current conduction in a second electric power supply circuit.

  • Patent number: 10750880
Abstract: An alert system for rails that includes a cover assembly, sensors and an alert assembly is disclosed. There is a need to momentarily leave a child unattended while they sleep, for example. The child may unexpectedly awaken and attempt to climb over the rails of their crib. This is a dangerous situation that is to be prevented. Hence, the alert system includes a cover assembly that may be mounted and secured on top of railings of all sorts, such as a bed, crib or gate. The sensors may be configured to detect weight thereon and upon detection of a predetermined weight threshold being surpassed may generate alerts through the alert assembly. The alerts occur in the form of lights, an audible alarm through speakers, or to a mobile device. Thereby allowing alerts to occur even when the guardian and child are not near one another.

  • Patent number: 10748393
Abstract: A sensor records information about skin stretch perceived by a user based on an interaction with a real object. The sensor includes a mechanical housing configured to be worn on a finger of a user, and a mechanism coupled to the mechanical housing. The mechanism includes a first bearing that rotates in a first direction in response to an interaction with a surface. The mechanism also includes a second bearing coupled to the first bearing, such that rotation of the first bearing causes the second bearing to rotate in a direction opposite to the first direction. The second bearing is in contact with a portion of the finger, and includes a feedback surface that simulates a force associated with the interaction with the surface. The sensor includes a controller configured to monitor rotation of the second bearing and record skin stretch information responsive to the interaction with the surface.

  • Patent number: 10722176
Abstract: An initial set of parameters for operating one or more detection tools is automatically derived and subsequently adjusted so that each detection tool is more or less sensitive to signal characteristics in a region of interest. Detection tool(s) may be applied to physiological signals sensed from a patient (such as EEG signals) and may be configured to run in an implanted medical device that is programmable with the parameters to look for rhythmic activity, spike activity, and power changes in the sensed signals, etc. A detection tool may be selected, and parameter values derived in a logical sequence and/or in pairs based on a graphical representation of an activity type which may be selected by a user, for example, by clicking and dragging on the graphic via a GUI. Displayed simulations allow a user to assess what will be detected with a derived parameter set and then to adjust the sensitivity of the set or start over as desired.

  • Patent number: 10696477
Abstract: An inductive garbage bin lid for being disposed on a barrel includes a main body and an opening system. The opening system is arranged on the main body and includes a lid, a processing unit, a lighting unit, and a driving unit. The lid covers the opening at a normal state. The sensing unit and the lighting unit are electrically connected to the processing unit respectively. The driving unit electrically connects the processing unit and the lid therebetween. When an object is detected by the sensing unit, the sensing unit sends an actuating signal to the processing unit to further actuate the driving unit to drive the lid to open to leave the opening. The processing unit selectively actuates the lighting unit to light at different lighting modes.

  • Patent number: 10654413
Abstract: A system for monitoring vehicle dynamics and detecting adverse events during operation is presented. Position sensors attached to a vehicle are configured to identify a vehicle orientation (heading) as well as the vehicle's direction of travel (trajectory). A system controller connected to these position sensors can detect the difference between these two measurements. When the difference between these two measurements exceeds a safety threshold, it can be an indication of a slip event. A slip event can be caused by compromised traction or stability and may lead to a loss of vehicle control. The system controller can be configured to monitor various vehicle dynamics to detect these slip events. The system controller may be configured to track geolocations of slip events to create a database of historical slip events for determining location-based risk factors and prevention of future events.
