Abstract: A method of quoting content from a post in a discussion forum can include selecting content within a source post of the discussion forum and performing a drag operation. A representation of the selected content can be dragged in coordination with motion of an onscreen pointer. The method further can include inserting the selected content within an open reply form in the discussion forum upon termination of the drag operation.

Abstract: A file format design supports storage of multi-source multimedia presentations via the inclusion of indications as to whether a presentation is a multi-source presentation, and for one media type, the tracks of which are from different sources and should be played simultaneously. If a multi-source presentation exists, additional indications may be provided including: an indication of a multi-source presentation type being stored; indications regarding the source of each track and which tracks have the same source; indications of different parties' information such as phone numbers, etc. Thus, a player may play back a recorded presentation in the same or substantially the same manner as it was presented during the actual session, and may automatically manipulate the presentation to be more informative or efficient. The file format design further supports storage of other types of multi-source presentations that render more than one media stream for at least one type of media.

Abstract: A system and method for managing access to entry points in a graphical user interface on a communication device are provided. The entry points are associated with services such as message services and are actuatable to invoke a content listing display for viewing content associated with a given service. One entry point provides access to a unified inbox for display of messages received or sent via a plurality of message services. Other entry points provide access to other message services or filtered views of the unified inbox. Access to the various entry points is provided via a user interface displaying one or more user interface elements, such as icons, pointing to the various entry points. Display of the elements is managed so as to hide elements pointing to potentially duplicative views.

Abstract: An input apparatus includes a display unit, an input unit, and a control unit. The display unit displays function items on a display window. The input unit selects and determines one function item with a pointer. The control unit controls a movement of the pointer by setting coordinates of the pointer based on position information transmitted from the input unit. Each function item includes a button region and a selection region. When the pointer moves to one of the button region and the selection region, the function item is selected. When the pointer is set to an equivalent stop state in the selection region, coordinates of the pointer are set as coordinates of a stop state position. When the pointer is set to the equivalent stop state in the button region, the coordinates of the pointer are set as coordinates of a predetermined position of the button region.

Abstract: An apparatus and user interface (155) for aiding in navigating and modifying delineations (117a-c) in or associated with 2D sub-volumes (110a-c) of a 3D or higher dimensional image dataset (100). States and position of the sub-volumes visualized. Both, states and position can be changed by using the functionalities of the user interface generated (155) by said apparatus. Abstract: A communication device includes a display with a layout including key locations with associated characters. The communication device detects an input gesture and determines one or more committed characters based at least in part on a change in the input gesture. The device presents one or more strings on the layout in association with key locations that are selected based at least in part on a relationship between each presented string and non-committed characters of each presented string.

Abstract: Content corresponding to a literary work, movie, audio presentation, or other media is provided to a computing device associated with a user. Immersive content related to the content may be communicated to a computing device and presented to the user at times when the content is not being consumed. The formatting, communicational modes, apparent source, subject matter, or other aspects of the immersive content may correspond to the preferences or other information provided by the user. In this way, user engagement with a story or other media may be stimulated or enhanced when the user is not actively consuming the primary content.

Abstract: A system and method for generating object graph data and transmitting the object graph over a network. For example, a computer-implemented method according to one embodiment comprises: analyzing relationships between objects within a network of objects to determine an object network structure; generating object graph data representing the object network structure; serializing the object graph data and transmitting the object graph data over a network to a requesting computer; and interpreting the object graph data to render a view of the object network structure in a graphical user interface.

Abstract: A method for navigating a pointer on a graphical user interface (GUI) includes the steps of: scrolling an input device to locate the pointer corresponding to the input device on a point of interest within the GUI, depressing an actuating button associated with the input device on the point of interest, obtaining a detailed view of the point of interest while centering the point of interest on the GUI and maintaining a position of the pointer on the point of interest.

Abstract: In a portable multimedia device, a method, apparatus, and system for providing user supplied configuration data are described. In one embodiment, a hierarchically ordered graphical user interface are provided. A first order, or home, interface provides a highest order of user selectable items each of which, when selected, results in an automatic transition to a lower order user interface associated with the selected item. In one of the described embodiments, the lower order interface includes other user selectable items associated with the previously selected item from the higher order user interface.

Abstract: A method and computer graphics program executed by one or more processors is described for arranging regions which refer to various parts of a graphical layout such that changes to the original layout result in updates to the said regions. The regions themselves may be arranged by the user in patterns for various purposes, such as condensing graphical content spread over many parts of the original layout into a single output page in order to minimize the consumption of ink and paper when printing.

Abstract: A method for processing email is presented here. The method begins by receiving email capture criteria for incoming email messages directed to a destination tenant of a multi-tenant database system. The method continues by comparing the email capture criteria to searchable information conveyed in the incoming email messages. When the searchable information in a candidate email message of the incoming email messages matches the email capture criteria by at least a threshold amount, the candidate email message is identified as a matched email message. The method continues by saving a copy of the matched email message for diagnostic analysis, and performing incoming email processing on the matched email message.

Abstract: A method for monitoring an industrial process with a graphical user interface of an operator panel. The graphical user interface is adapted to change between a default mode in which it presents a plurality of objects related to the industrial process, and a user-adapted mode in which a subset of the plurality of objects is presented. The subset of objects is selected based on a parameter value which is associated with each object of the plurality of objects. The graphical user interface enters the user-adapted mode by the method determining whether a time of inactivity of the operator panel exceeds a threshold value, and, provided that the threshold value has been exceeded, removing those objects of the plurality of objects on the graphical user interface which are not included in the subset of objects.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a touch-sensitive display and one or more programs stored in memory for execution by one or more processors. The one or more programs include instructions for displaying a first application view that corresponds to a first application in a plurality of concurrently open applications. The one or more programs include instructions for detecting a first input, and in response, concurrently displaying a group of open application icons that correspond to at least some of the plurality of concurrently open applications with at least a portion of the first application view. The open application icons are displayed in accordance with a predetermined sequence of the open applications. The one or more programs include instructions for detecting a first gesture distinct from the first input, and in response, displaying a second application view that corresponds to a second application adjacent to the first application in the predetermined sequence.

Abstract: Some embodiments of supporting trusted relationships between multiple organizations in a networked system have been presented. In one embodiment, a centralized server manages a networked system, which includes the centralized server and a set of computing machines coupled to each other within an internal network of a customer. The centralized server may segregate data and encapsulating resources within the networked system by a set of organizations created by the customer. Furthermore, a trusted relationship defined by a system administrator of the centralized server may be applied to a first one and a second one of the set of organizations.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for zooming in or out and displaying a screen according a gesture of a user is provided. The method includes sensing gesture input, determining whether the gesture input corresponds to a predetermined pattern of a first semicircle or semi oval shape, and zooming in or out the image displayed on the screen and displaying a zoomed in or zoomed out image on a screen wherein the zoom ratio is in proportion to a radius of a first semicircle or a radius of a long or short axis of a first semi oval when the gesture input is the pattern of the first semicircle or semi oval shape.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a storage portion, an image processing portion, a display portion, a touch panel portion for detecting a touched position, and a processing portion. The storage portion stores image data. The image processing portion performs image processing on the image data. The display portion displays a preview image indicating image data content. The processing portion recognizes touched positions, recognizes a rectangular region having a diagonal connecting two touched positions, recognizes the specified region on the basis of sections overlapping with the rectangular region among a plurality of sections obtained by dividing the preview image, and controls the image processing portion to perform the process on data of a part of the image data corresponding to the specified region.
