Abstract: A stapling device including first and second arms, each arm having a distal portion and a proximal portion; a stapler head rotatably coupled to a free end of the distal portion of the second arm. The stapler head has a first, inoperative position and a second operative position. The device includes a member for moving the stapler head from the inoperative position to the operative position, and elements for pivotably coupling the first arm to the second arm. The stapling device further includes first and second handle elements each pivotably coupled to each other and to the proximal portions of the first and second arms and operatively coupled to the moving member so that initial displacement of the handle elements from an inoperative position towards each other moves the distal portions of the first and second arms towards each other and actuates the moving member to move the stapler head from the inoperative position to the operative position.
Abstract: A workpiece severing apparatus includes rotatable cutting and breaking assemblies that move about a fixedly held workpiece. At the same time a cutting edge of the cutting assembly is moving through the workpiece by cutting the workpiece along its entire periphery, rollers of the breaking assembly are applying a desired force to workpiece portions. Movement of the rollers relative to the workpiece is controlled so that tension is always applied to the workpiece in a way that facilitates cutting. The cutting assembly stops its cutting operation when a predetermined thickness of the workpiece remains. After this occurs, the two assemblies continue to rotate and the breaking assembly eventually causes a severed workpiece portion to be separated from a held workpiece portion.
Abstract: A bandsaw assembly including an improved drive belt tensioning device which enables efficient manual engagement and disengagement from the drive belt through use of an overcenter bracket. The overcenter bracket includes a spring releasably holding the tensioning device out of engagement with the belt to permit the operator to use both hands during a belt changing operation.
Abstract: A method and apparatus that allows the removal of solid material from a workpiece utilizes a high velocity stream of ice which is caused to impinge on the workpiece. A working liquid, such as water, is supplied at high pressure to a discharge nozzle with an orifice for forming the needle-like stream. The water is cooled before it reaches the nozzle to a temperature below its freezing point so that at least some of the stream is transformed to ice. Optionally, the stream is cooled after it is emitted from the orifice by flowing an envelope of cryogenic gas around the emitted stream.
Abstract: A hand razor comprising a head portion an inlet having an entry end for receiving and delivering water to the head portion to flush a blade supported therein, and an outlet having a discharge end for discharging water from the head portion, the entry and discharge ends being in opposed relation whereby in use water can enter the entry end and leave the discharge end in generally the same direction of flow.
Abstract: A bracket for mounting a motor which drives a fan in a dehumidifier or the like includes two or more arms secured directly to the motor's housing. The bracket includes a rib which spans nearly the full length of an extender of the arm and gussets at the various junctions of the arm. The use of the rib and gussets in the arm substantially isolates motor vibration and reduces imbalance of the impeller and/or the driven component.
Abstract: A plurality of roll pin punches in association with an elongate handle are mounted for ease of assembly within a container structure. A cap member having an internally threaded bore and including a forward wall bore coaxially aligned through the forward wall and the threaded bore includes a resilient "O" ring mounted within a toroidal groove and interfaced between the threaded bore and the forward wall bore to secure the punch member.
Abstract: A universal mounting system for attaching any of a variety of I.V. devices to an I.V. pole. The mounting system has both a C-clamp and a spring-actuated clamp. The C-clamp attaches to the I.V. pole with a threaded stud that is manually adjustable with a knob. The spring-actuated clamp secures the I.V. device and is pivotally connected to the C-clamp by a pivot-screw that extends through both a spring and a non-threaded bore that is formed in the C-clamp, and exits at a recess area on the C-clamp. The pivot-screw is threaded into a threaded bore that extends through a projection on the spring-actuated clamp. The projection fits within the recess to prevent pivoting of the spring-actuated clamp relative to the C-clamp. The spring-actuated clamp has two aligned, opposing and spring-loaded clips for holding I.V. devices. The clips pivot and fulcrum together at a pivot point between the ends of each clip so as to bring the clip ends together to a clamped position on an I.V. device.
Abstract: Apparatus for applying a fleece band (1) to an endlessly circulating support web (2) in contiguous coils comprises a fleece band feed device (3) movable transversely relative to the support web (2) and an edging device (10) for the fleece band run supplied to the support web (2). To ensure a uniform fleece band feed in the edge zone of the support web (2), the edging device (10) comprises at least one edging cutter (15) which moves in the vicinity of the fleece band coil adjoining the support web edge at a relative speed in relation to the feed device (3) which corresponds to the relative cross-feed of the feed device (3) compared to the support web (2), but is opposite to this cross-feed.

Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing paper towelling from a roll. The dispenser has a casing for holding the roll. The casing has an open bottom. A bottom member is mounted on the casing. The bottom member is movable between a closed position where it substantially closes the open bottom of the casing, and defines, with the front of the casing, an outlet for the towelling; and an open position where it allows access into the casing to enable the leading edge of the paper towelling to be grasped should it end up within the casing.
Abstract: A pole clip for arranging wires and/or tubing around the circumference of a pole. The clip comprises a resilient, flexible, generally C-shaped body adapted for a snap fit on the pole, and at least one resiliently-flexible arcuate arm extending in generally concentric relationship relative to the C-shaped body. The arm defines an arcuate wire-and-tube-retaining area between the C-shaped body and the arm. The wire-and-tube-retaining area is concentric with the C-shaped body, and is configured to visibly retain wires and/or tubes in side-by-side relationship around the pole. The arm has a free end closely spaced from another portion of the clip such that wires and/or tubes can be manually introduced into or released from the wire-and-tube-retaining area by flexing the arcuate arm but the arm normally retains the wires and/or tubes.

Abstract: The machine cuts a roll or log (L) of web material into a plurality of small rolls (R). It includes a unit (17) rotating about an axis (A--A) parallel to the axis of the log (L) to be cut. The unit carries a cutting blade (19) rotating about an axis (B--B) parallel to the axis (A--A) of the unit (17). A driving device (61, 63) moves the cutting tool (19) into a reciprocating forward and backward motion parallel to the axis of the log (L) to be cut. At least at the time when the blade cuts the log, the blade moves parallel to the moving log at a translation speed substantially equal to the feeding speed of the log (L), so as to allow the cutting of small rolls (R) without stopping the log (L).
Abstract: A pipe cutting device for cutting tubing and other cylindrical objects comprises a frame with a handle portion at one end thereof and an upper jaw portion at another end thereof. A cutting roller is rotatably supported in the upper jaw portion. A slide carriage is slidingly mounted on the frame and a power-driven roller is rotatably supported in the slide carriage. The slide carriage with the power-driven roller forms a lower jaw disposed opposite from the upper jaw, and the upper and lower jaws define a cutting space for receiving tubing or other cylindrical objects to be cut. The slide carriage is slid in a direction towards the upper jaw for narrowing the cutting space during a cutting operation. A power motor drives the power-driven roller.
