Abstract: The apparatus of the present invention comprises a vehicle having a cement carrying container and two water carrying containers. The cement container is V-shaped in cross section with outwardly, flared walls adjacent the apex of the V, and includes an auger screw conveyor inside the container extending along the V-shaped bottom thereof. The auger is adapted to convey the cement within the container along the length of the auger to an outlet opening adjacent the bottom of the container. A vertical conveyor carries the cement upwardly from the outlet opening to a third conveyor which carries the cement to the concrete mixer being serviced. Within the container below the auger conveyor are a plurality of fluffing means which introduce air under pressure to the cement to cause it to be fluffed and to prevent it from packing around the auger screw.
Abstract: A conventional, flexible sewer drain hose from recreational vehicles, is normally connected to the most common public or private sewer systems, by means of one of many different adaptor fittings, or by means of one fitting utilizing movable or mechanical parts. This device is designed primarily for the purpose of making any of these adaptations with one simple fitting, which does not depend on moving or mechanical parts for its seal, and is described in detail in the following description.
Abstract: A flexible plastic tube, comprises, an extruded inner tube or tubular portion and an extruded outer tube or tubular portion of a thermoplastic material overlying the inner tubular portion and spaced radially outwardly therefrom and including a reinforcing strip of substantially U-shape configuration wound around the inner portion and bonded to the inner and outer tubular portions. The reinforcing strip has radially extending sidewalls in the form of fins which define a first cavity therebetween and, in addition, successive turns of the reinforcing strip define a second cavity therebetween which is located between the outer and inner walls. The sidewalls advantageously have radially outwardly tapered cross-sectional shapes.
Abstract: Switch contacts are placed on a thermoplastic stator body in their desired positions and a thermoplastic holding member is pressed onto the switch contacts. The holding member is then ultrasonically or otherwise thermally welded to the stator body in such a manner that the melted portions of the holding member between the switch contacts are deformed into contact with and welded to the stator body. A groove is formed in the stator body perpendicular to the switch contacts into which excess material of the holding member flows during the welding process.

Abstract: An error correction apparatus adapted for use with a longitudinal measuring instrument is disclosed. In the preferred embodiment the correction apparatus is mounted on a measuring instrument having a longitudinal scale, a scanning unit movable along the scale, and a housing surrounding the scale and the scanning unit. In measuring the relative position of two objects, the first object is connected to the housing and the second object is connected to the scanning unit via the correction apparatus of this invention. The correction apparatus includes a segmented correction profile made up of a plurality of individual correction members joined end to end to form a track extending substantially in the direction of the scale. The correction members are pivotably interconnected by joints which permit a limited amount of longitudinal movement between adjacent correction members.
Abstract: Disclosed is apparatus for determining distances along a direction in a plane. A base is constrained to translational movement along the direction by a guide system. An indicator is connected to the guide system to move relative to the base corresponding to movement of the base along the direction. In the particular embodiment disclosed, a parallel bar is provided with a moveable scale whereby the movement of the bar may be measured by determining the extent of movement of the indicator. A method disclosed for determining distances includes positioning a moveable scale in relation to a base equipped with an indicator identifying the position of the base. A reference marker may be used to identify the position along the scale the indicator is to assume when the base has been moved a desired distance.
Abstract: A device for terminating the rotary movement of a driven shaft following an adjustable predetermined number of revolutions, with one or more switch disks arranged coaxially adjacent and provided with notches of their outer circumference, said disks being driveable by the shaft, with a plurality of switch disks with different rotational speeds, and with a switch arm resting on the outer circumference of the switch disk(s), said arm dropping into the notch and/or (in the case of a plurality of switch disks) notches, when the latter correspond in their angular position, thus shutting off the drive to the shaft.
Abstract: A longitudinal measuring device is disclosed which includes a flexible scale mounted inside a tubular member. The tubular member defines a groove having overhanging flanges on each side of the groove and the scale is positioned inside the groove. The width of the scale is chosen to be wider than the separation between the overhanging flanges, and the flanges serve to retain the scale in the groove in a longitudinally displaceable manner without applying distorting forces to the scale. Both the scale and the tubular member are independently mounted to a mounting surface such as a machine component, and the scale is mounted in such a manner that the separation between the ends of the scale can be expanded without dismounting the scale from the machine component.
Abstract: A switch construction including opposed contacts positioned on a base and a bridging contactor slidable between different switch positions. The design of the contacts on the base includes an upper section defining a first surface engageable by a tab formed on the sliding contactor. Second surface portions offset relative to the first surface provide engagement with shoulders defined by the sliding contactor. Resilient means press the sliding contactor against this upper section in a fashion such that the shoulders operate to limit the movement of the sliding contactor. The separate engagement of the tab and shoulders provide separate available current paths for the switch.
Abstract: Hydrotherapy apparatus including continuous extruded plastic ducting of keyhole shape in cross-section adapted to be installed in the wall of a water pool and having a multiplicity of air dispensing perforations substantially flush with the interior wall surface. The ducting is readily assembled and installed by unskilled labor in a wide variety of configurations using simple tools and fittings and is connectable to a source of pressurized air.
Abstract: The disclosure illustrates a fixture permitting the adjustment of a stop which limits the upward travel of a unit type fuel injector plunger. The fixture comprises parallel rails having cross bars for clamping the injector to be adjusted with a given preload. An upper cross bar receives a displaceable rod adapted to be received in a socket in the injector for depressing the plunger. An arm having a given weight at its free end is pivotally mounted to the upper cross arm. The arm is pivoted downward to depress the plunger to its bottom-most position. A dial gauge indicates linear displacement of the rod and the plunger to a desired upper limit of travel where the stop is positioned. The predetermined weight at the end of the arm permits repeatable checking of the adjustment.
Abstract: Gramophone equipment has a record changing mechanism including a screw arrangement which can be operated to lift and lower a record support platform.
Abstract: A sewer pipe is repaired by inserting a thin, flexible liner within the sewer pipe. The liner has an outer diameter less than the inner diameter of the sewer pipe, whereby an annular space is presented between the liner and the sewer pipe. This annular space is filled with a low viscosity magnesium based cement, such as magnesium oxychloride cement or magnesium oxysulfate cement, which has a maximum Marsh funnel viscosity of 40 seconds per quart.

Abstract: A pipe is cradled at rest on a weighing scale at the end of a pipe mill production line. Pipe end sensors are driven axially in opposite directions until each one makes contact with an end of the pipe. Movement of each sensor toward an end of the pipe causes a pulse generator to produce pulses that decrement from a preset value indicative of the distance between two axially disposed reference points.
Abstract: Apparatus for controlling an arm of a record player of the type having a base, a turntable upon which a record disc rotates, a pivot support extending upward from the base for supporting the arm and about which pivot support said arm pivots in a plane perpendicular to the surface of the record disc, and a transducer at one end of the arm for scanning the record disc. Pivotal movement of the arm is detected and a position signal is produced to represent the angular position of the arm. A detecting circuit detects when the position signal differs from a predetermined reference signal, this difference corresponding to an angular displacement of the arm, to produce a control signal. A drive device is coupled to the pivot support and is responsive to the control signal for driving the pivot support in a direction perpendicular to the surface of the record disc so as to reduce the angular displacement of the arm and thereby adjust the position signal until it is equal to the predetermined reference level.
