    Abstract: A new and improved method of forming slats for window blinds and the like from a continuous web of plastic material includes a feeder for directing the web longitudinally from a roll at a selected speed rate into a heating chamber including upper and lower plates defining a longitudinally extending heating path between opposite inlet and outlet ends. As the web moves along the path, opposite surfaces thereof are heated to an elevated temperature and the web material then moves into a molding and cooling chamber immediately adjacent the exit end of the heating chamber wherein the web is molded to provide a curved transverse cross-section while the web is cooled. The web is cooled to a temperature at a level selected to provide a permanent set in the longitudinally traveling web.

    Abstract: A drilling tool for use in drilling operations for providing shock absorption capability and lateral support to the rotary drill string. The telescoping axial load shock absorber is positioned immediately adjacent at least one lateral support provided by a reamer or stabilizer. The stabilizer preferably employs a removable fixed blade secured to the tool by an undercut groove. The roller cutter for a reamer is also mounted in a preferred unique manner with the mounting blocks secured in a recess having an undercut retainer portion in the event of bolting failure. The mounting's brackets may be formed integral of the tool body or attached by welding or the like. A preferred form of mounting a blade on a stabilizer tool is also disclosed.

    Abstract: A cylinder liner sleeve puller has four legs having flanged feet at their bottom and being connected by four pivotably mounted pivot arms. The arms are pivotably connected to a central hub, which arrangement forces the lower ends of the legs outward when the hub is manually moved downward. In operation, the legs are inserted into the cylinder so that their bottom extremities are below the lower end of the liner sleeve. The hub is then pressed downward, forcing the lower ends of the legs outward until the flanged feet are directly below the liner sleeve. A jack support plate having spaced holes for the legs is then passed over the legs and rests on the engine block. A hydraulic jack is placed on the support plate, and a top plate is fastened to the top of the legs. When the jack is activated, the plunger pushes the top plate upward, causing a corresponding upward movement of the legs, thereby removing the liner sleeve.

In the slider drawing position the slider is drawn in the opening direction of the coupled slide fastener and optionally the beginning piece is mounted. The web of the beam is cut with a further torch in response to a template, to obtain two rat holes and the inset web edge. Independent angular reorientation in a third plane of each of the flange cutting torches accommodates for lack of perpendicularity between each flange and the web to obtain a true edge and a constant width angle cut. The ends of two beams formed from a single beam can be cut in a single operation with appropriate adjustments to the machine. A method for performing various end cuts of a beam is disclosed.
