Abstract: This disclosure discloses various intellectual property rights management software systems for video content (e.g. episodes, series, seasons, movies, clips) that are able to pre-determine intellectual property rights availabilities for the video content over many different combinations of factors (e.g. channels, territories, rights) such that these availabilities can be readily available (e.g. stored, cached) for a client (e.g. workstation, mobile device) to query against.

Abstract: Systems and methods for real-time bidding of advertisement during live event broadcasting are disclosed including calculating intensity levels during a live event, opening advertisement space on screen for real-time bidding based on intensity levels, and displaying an advertisement in the advertisement space as an overlay on video images of the live event broadcasting.

Abstract: A method for managing user interface includes displaying related information of an in-vehicle device using a first user interface. An authority of accessing related information of a handheld device is acquired when the handheld device is in communication with the in-vehicle device. The method includes: acquiring features of the multimedia resource based on a convolutional neural network, where the convolutional neural network comprises N convolutional layers, where N is a positive integer; determining user interest information based on an identifier of a recommended user, where the user interest information is corresponding to the feature of each convolutional layer; determining a first feature matrix based on the convolution of convolution kernel and the feature, where the convolution kernel comprises the user interest information; generating user preference data based on the first feature matrix; and recommending the multimedia resource to the recommended user based on the N generated user preference data.

Abstract: A user may employ a user device (e.g., a television (TV) and a set-top box (STB)) to access a television system via a network. The television system may include one or more content servers (CSs) (e.g., a VOD server, an HTTP server, or other media server) for providing, among other things, a VOD service to the user and a broadcast transmission system for transmitting a multitude of linear television channels. Television system and/or user device is/are operable to enable the user to interact with an enhanced TV service (ETS) that allows the user to easily navigate among various different programmed linear channels (a.k.a., “streaming channels”) and VOD services. Abstract: User interfaces having navigation bars are rendered on displays by streaming devices or smart applications operating on the displays. The navigation bars include selectable elements corresponding to applications that are preferred or designated users, as well as promoted applications, or utility applications. Placing a cursor or selection element over one of the elements for an application within the navigation bar causes selected content to be displayed above the navigation bar, along with discrete tiles including images associated with the application below the navigation bar. Moving the cursor above or below the navigation bar allows a user to activate the selected content or select one of the discrete tiles. Icons within the navigation bar may be displayed to a user in a predetermined order, at random, or in an order selected by the user.

Abstract: Apparatus, systems, articles of manufacture, and methods to identify media using watermarks and signatures are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a watermark evaluator to determine a category indicated by a watermark detected in the media. The example apparatus also includes a signature comparator to compare a query signature with a subset of reference signatures associated with the category to identify the media, the query signature generated from the media, the reference signatures generated from reference media associated with the category.

Abstract: Methods and systems to insert advertisements and/or other supplemental or replacement content into a stream of video content are described. In some example embodiments, the methods and systems receive a request to replace a portion of video content currently playing at a client device with supplemental video content, such as an advertisement. In response to the request, the methods and systems determine one or more fingerprints of the video content plating at the client device, identify one or more frames of the video content at which to insert the supplemental video content based on the one or more fingerprints, and insert the supplemental video content at the identified one or more frames of the video content.

Abstract: A set-top box with enhanced features and system and method for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment of the set-top box, the set-top box is deployed to provide an interactive portal in a hospitality establishment having multiple rooms, such as a hotel. The set-top box generates a default interactive portal as well as a guest-specific interactive portal, which is generated from a guest configuration profile having information including guest identification, a guest channel preference presentation, and a guest service preference presentation with guest account information. The guest configuration profile may also enable the creation of a local area wireless network with substantially the same behavior as the guest's home wireless network. The guest configuration profile may further enable the control of in-room amenities, such as temperature control, lighting, shades, and availability, for example.

The tiled timed media data comprises timed samples and each timed sample comprises a plurality of spatial subsamples. After having selected at least one spatial subsample from amongst the plurality of spatial subsamples of one of the timed samples, one tile track comprising the selected spatial subsample and one corresponding spatial subsample of each of the other timed samples is created for each selected spatial subsample. One composite track comprising at least one extractor identifying at least one of the created tile tracks is created.
