Abstract: Systems and methods for real-time bidding of advertisement during live event broadcasting are disclosed including calculating intensity levels during a live event, opening advertisement space on screen for real-time bidding based on intensity levels, and displaying an advertisement in the advertisement space as an overlay on video images of the live event broadcasting.

Abstract: Content of a video is parsed to identify one or more topics of the content. The video is divided into one or more video clips corresponding to a video playback of one or more topics. One or more titles corresponding to, and descriptive of, the one or more video clips are displayed. One or more visual effects corresponding to the one or more titles and indicative of corresponding playback statuses of the one or more video clip are displayed. A video clip is played, where the video clip is based on a particular title of the one or more titles selected from a time point determined based on a corresponding playback status of the video clip.

Abstract: A method for providing media content in a public transportation vehicle comprising a mobile router, the method comprising: receiving, in the mobile router, one or more media streams from a media source; monitoring first connection parameters relating to a first connection between the mobile router and the media source and second connection parameters relating to a second connection between the mobile router and one or more client devices; determining, on the basis of said first and second connection parameters, optimized stream configuration for each of said one or more media streams; and providing each of said one or more media streams only according to the optimized stream configuration to said one or more client devices.

Abstract: A set-top box with enhanced features and system and method for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment of the set-top box, the set-top box is deployed to provide an interactive portal in a hospitality establishment having multiple rooms, such as a hotel. The set-top box generates a default interactive portal as well as a guest-specific interactive portal, which is generated from a guest configuration profile having information including guest identification, a guest channel preference presentation, and a guest service preference presentation with guest account information. The guest configuration profile may also enable the creation of a local area wireless network with substantially the same behavior as the guest's home wireless network. The guest configuration profile may further enable the control of in-room amenities, such as temperature control, lighting, shades, and availability, for example.

Abstract: Subscriptions for object updates to be transmitted to a client device may be dynamically managed based on the occurrence of one or more trigger events at the client device, which causes the client device to transmit subscription modification requests to a computing platform configured to dynamically maintain object subscription lists for each of one or more client devices based at least in part on subscription modification requests received from each of the one or more client devices, to determine whether subscribed objects for a particular client device are current at the client device, and to transmit updates of subscribed objects in real-time upon determining that the particular client device does not comprise current object data.

Abstract: A set-top box with enhanced content and system and method for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment of the set-top box, a wireless transceiver is located within a housing, which also interconnectively includes a television input, a television output, a processor, and memory. The set-top box provides a fully tuned signal including general content via the television output to a display or a television, for example. The set-top box may also identify a proximate wireless-enabled interactive programmable device and responsive to identifying the proximate wireless-enabled interactive device, forward a fully tuned signal including custom content relative to a group identification associated with the proximate wireless-enabled interactive programmable device.

Abstract: An electronic apparatus that receives broadcasting schedule information and a content signal corresponding to a channel, provides (e.g., displays or causes to be displayed) an image and/or sound based on the received content signal corresponding to the channel, acquire feature information from the content signal while the image is being provided, and transmit a request for content information corresponding to the acquired feature information to a server. The processor may further include one of: based on identifying that the broadcasting schedule information is incorrect, transmit the request to the server at a first frequency, or based on identifying that the broadcasting schedule information is correct, transmit the request to the server at a second frequency that is different from the first frequency (e.g., lower than the first frequency).

Abstract: A set-top box with an interactive portal and system and method for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment of the set-top box, the set-top box includes a housing that secures a signal input, a signal output, a processor, a transceiver, and memory therein in an interconnected bus architecture. The set-top box receives a status signal via the transceiver from an amenity. The set-top box then generates an interactive portal that includes a status icon relating to the status signal and a management icon relating to commanding the amenity or initiating a service request.

Abstract: Systems and method for advertisement replacement are disclosed. A server may receive a server feed, generate a plurality of server fingerprints for a respective plurality of segments of the server feed, receive a synchronization message comprising a client fingerprint and a client time, match the client fingerprint with one of the plurality of server fingerprints, and send a synchronization response indicative of a server time associated with the one of the plurality of server fingerprints.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to media content distribution, and more particularly to audience analysis using automated content recognition and identity management. In certain embodiments, a targeting system is provided for generating and presenting a user interface to assist an administrator in targeting particular users. For example, a user interface (referred to as an audience explorer) may be presented that allows the administrator to select one or more categories of users. For another example, a user interface (referred to as a genre explorer) may be presented to that allows the administrator to select a particular media category. For another example, a user interface (referred to as a show explorer) may be presented that allows the administrator to select a particular media segment. For another example, a user interface (referred to as a station explorer) may be presented that allows the administrator to select a particular content stream.

Abstract: A user may employ a user device (e.g., a television (TV) and a set-top box (STB)) to access a television system via a network. The television system may include one or more content servers (CSs) (e.g., a VOD server, an HTTP server, or other media server) for providing, among other things, a VOD service to the user and a broadcast transmission system for transmitting a multitude of linear television channels. Television system and/or user device is/are operable to enable the user to interact with an enhanced TV service (ETS) that allows the user to easily navigate among various different programmed linear channels (a.k.a., “streaming channels”) and VOD services. The ETS may be hosted in the television system, in user device, or in a combination of the two.

Abstract: Systems and methods for sorting favorite content sources are provided. A list of favorite content sources arranged in a first order is stored. The favorite content sources in the list are accessed according to the order of the favorite content sources in the list. At a given time, a user request to change a currently accessed content source to one of the favorite content sources in the list is received. In response to receiving the user request, an attribute of content presented on the currently accessed content source at the given time is identified. The favorite content sources in the list are rearranged into a second order based on the identified attribute. The favorite content sources in the list are accessed according to the second order in response to receiving the user request.

The system includes at least one receiver and a transmitter. The at least one receiver is configured to receive the plurality of first services from the plurality of different broadcast providers. The transmitter is configured to broadcast the plurality of first services over the transition broadcast channel.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide an entry presence detection mechanism for audio-video devices. According to aspects, devices are activated based on detecting presence of a subject in the vicinity of a device. Further, subject-specific content is output based on preconfigured preferences and/or historical usage. As described herein, the device is activated and subject-specific content or prompts are displayed without use of a remote control. This reduces the wait time to activate a device and connected devices. When a subject is determined to have left the vicinity for a configurable amount of time, the devices enter a low-power state. In aspects, the devices enter a low-power state in response to determining that no subjects remain in the vicinity of the device for a configurable amount of time.

Abstract: A hospitality property management tool and system and method for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment of the system, the system includes a set-top box located in a room at a hospitality establishment having multiple rooms. The set-top box stores various types of set-top box data and transmits the set-top box data to a remote server. The remote server receives and stores the set-top box data. The server may render a map view of the hospitality establishment based on obtained map data. The map view may include a graphical representation of the room and other rooms at the hospitality establishment. The server may annotate the graphical representation of the room with at least a portion of the set-top box data.
