    Abstract: Novel unsaturated peroxides useful as molecular weight regulators in polymerization reactions are disclosed. Also disclosed are a polymerization process employing these novel unsaturated peroxides as molecular weight regulators, polymers and oligomers made by this process and articles of manufacture comprising one or more polymers or oligomers made by this process. These molecular weight regulating peroxides provide the ability to introduce an epoxy functionality to the oligomer or polymer as well as an additional functionality. Further, omega (di) substituted or alpha, omega disubstituted polymers may be synthesized using the unsaturated peroxides of the present invention.

Such a polymer can comprise, for example, a monomer of the present invention.     Abstract: The invention provides a polymerizable composition formed by mixing a liquid and a powder composition. The liquid composition includes a peroxide, which decomposes by at most fifty percent by weight of the peroxide within 10 hours at a temperature of at least 75.degree. C., and a polymerizable monomer. The powder composition comprising a proton donor, and a metal containing compound. The polymerizable composition has from 0.2 to 5 percent by weight of the peroxide, from 5 to 99 percent by weight of the polymerizable monomer, and from 0.1 to 3 percent by weight of the proton donor, and from 0.02 to 3 percent by weight of the metal containing compound. The polymerizable composition has an initial setting time and a storage setting time after storage of the first (liquid) composition for at least 12 months at a temperature of at least 23.degree. C. The initial setting time is within 2 minutes of the storage setting time.

    Abstract: A bimodal, crosslinked toner resin can be prepared in non-aqueous solvent, e.g., toluene, using standard solution polymerization techniques. The resin-forming process prepares a precursor resin from ethylenically unsaturated monomer(s), and then grafts maleic anhydride onto the precursor resin to form a modified precursor resin. The modified precursor resin is reacted with a polyfunctional molecule, e.g. a diol, to provide a crosslinked resin. The process is preferably conducted in the presence of a low molecular weight polymeric additive, e.g., polystyrene, to provide a bimodal as well as crosslinked toner resin composition. With the addition of a colorant, a toner powder may be formed.
