  • Patent number: 6915468
Abstract: An electronic memory device tester has an input arranged to receive seed data with a first number (p) of seed data bits from a computer and a data generator arranged to receive an array of prepared data having a second number (q) of prepared data bits, where q>p, and arrange to generate from the prepared data a test data pattern for writing to an electronic memory device to be tested. The tester generates its own test pattern thus relieving the computer processor from that task. This in turn allows the computer to control the test cycle itself without compromising the test speed.

  • Patent number: 6714948
Abstract: A method and apparatus generates identifiers of database records apart from the database. One or more application programs may request an identifier of a transaction, and a stored identifier of a prior transaction is incremented or otherwise altered to produce the identifier of the transaction. The identifier is provided to the application program, which uses it as an identifier of a record of a database if such a record is created. If a system failure occurs, the database is scanned to identify the most recently issued identifier stored in the database, for example by requesting from the database the highest transaction number stored, and that number is used to generate the next transaction number.

  • Patent number: 6707918
Abstract: A method for the creation of acoustic impulse responses for utilization in rendering to an array of speakers comprising the steps of measuring a room response function; extracting a series of discrete time arrivals from the measured room response function so as to have a reverberant residual response function; separately rendering the extracted series and the reverberant residual response function to the array of speakers to form a discrete response and a residual response; combining the discrete response and the residual response to form an acoustic impulse response for the array of speakers.

  • Patent number: 6628787
Abstract: An improved method and apparatus for creating multi-channel (or binaural) signals from a B-format sound-field source is disclosed. The method allows the encoded spatial format (B-format) to be separated into multiple bands, with each band assigned a short-term direction factor, from which the higher-resolution multi-channel (or binaural) output signals may be determined. The direction factor is determined, for each filter band, based on the short-term statistics of the soundfield signals in those bands. Based on this direction factor, the speaker drive signals are computed for each band by panning the signals to drive the nearest speakers. In addition, residual signal components are apportioned to the speaker signals by means of previously known decoding techniques.

  • Publication number: 20030111280
Abstract: An electric vehicle drive assembly includes a rigid axle having opposed wheel hubs driven by a gear set. An electric motor is fixedly mounted to a vehicle frame cross member separate from the axle. The electric motor drives a drive shaft which directly drives an input pinion of the gear set. As the input pinion rotates, it meshes with an outer diameter teeth set of a rotatable ring gear to drive a plurality of planet gears and provide a high reduction ratio. The planet gears are rotated about a stationary sun gear and simultaneously rotate a planet carrier and drive an output shaft attached to the wheel hub.

  • Patent number: 6502645
Abstract: A towed agricultural implement frame comprises a main frame, and right and left wing frame sections that are coupled to one another by right and left pivot frames. The pivot frames are pivotally coupled to the main frame by right and left vertical pivots and to the wing frame sections by right and left horizontal pivots. The wing frame sections can be folded forwardly by right and left folding hydraulic cylinders. As the wing sections are folded forwardly towards the main frame draw bar, right and left rollers on the outermost ends of the wing frame sections engage right and left ramps mounted on the draw bar. Further retraction of the folding hydraulic cylinders lifts the outermost ends of the wing sections by moving the rollers up the ramps. Lift hydraulic cylinders located between the main frame and a wheel frame raise the main frame. The main frame also lifts the innermost ends of the right and left wing frame sections.

  • Patent number: 5865989
Abstract: A process for sweetening high mercaptan content gasoline or other liquid hydrocarbons is disclosed which utilizes aqueous caustic solution. A recycle stream is used to increase the conversion potential by reducing the relative mercaptan concentration of the untreated gasoline. Part of the treated gasoline effluent is recycled to the untreated feed. The treated gasoline has a low mercaptan concentration while the untreated gasoline is high in mercaptans. As the two streams combine, the feed to the unit becomes less concentrated in mercaptan compounds. In effect, the mercaptan concentration of the untreated gasoline has been diluted by the treated gasoline. Nitrogen inhibits the solubility of oxygen into gasoline. Nitrogen present in the recycle stream would create a system high in nitrogen and low in oxygen. By increasing the level of nitrogen, oxygen is limited in its ability to complete the sweetening reaction.
