  • Publication number: 20060067530
Abstract: By introducing a new copy control system into video signals subjected to picture quality restriction satisfactory only in small-sized PMP displays, a new business model in which copyrighters, consumers and makers can have mutual prosperity is created. “A new copy control rule of prohibiting a video signal output with a picture quality equivalent to that at time of recording from being copied, but permitting a video signal sufficiently degraded in picture quality as compared with time of recording to be copied” is added to the copy-never, copy-one-generation, and copy-free states belonging to the conventional copy control rule. The quality for which the copyrighter can permit copying corresponds to half the current number of DVD pixels. If a quality restricting scheme of thinning out pixels to half compared with time of recording is used, therefore, needs of consumers desiring to enjoy PMPs are satisfied while protecting rights of copyrighters.

  • Patent number: 7017541
Abstract: A driving cam includes a circular surface portion at an outer cam surface thereof. When an engine is turned off, the circular surface portion is brought into contact with a roller. Thereby, even if a load is applied to the control axis member, no rotational force is circumferentially applied to the driving cam. As the result, even if a driving force is not applied from a motor to the driving cam, a rotational angle of the driving cam and an axial position of the control axis member are kept constant. Therefore, it is possible to keep the driving cam and the control axis member at a constant position without adding a complicated mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20060052024
Abstract: Disclosed is a liquid absorbent sheet for absorbing and retaining liquid. The liquid absorbent sheet is a single nonwoven fabric in which a liquid permeable layer and a liquid retaining layer are inseparably but distinguishably formed. The liquid permeable layer is exposed externally on one side of the nonwoven fabric. The liquid retaining layer lies beneath the liquid permeable layer for absorbing and retaining liquid. The liquid permeable layer contains at least 70% synthetic resin fibers by weight. The liquid retaining layer contains at least 70% cellulosic fibers by weight. Constituent fibers of the nonwoven fabric are bonded together by an adhesive force of a binder and/or a bonding force caused by fusion of the synthetic resin fibers.

  • Patent number: 7004127
Abstract: An actuator is used for controlling an intake valve lift of an automotive engine. A control shaft is joined with a transmission device on its one end side, and is joined with a valve lift controller on the other end side. The control shaft is arranged perpendicularly to a spindle of a motor. Besides, the transmission device includes a drive cam internally. Thus, the actuator is reduced in size in a longitudinal direction of the control shaft regardless the length of the motor. When the motor rotates, the control shaft reciprocates in accordance with a cam profile of the drive cam. The intake valve lift can be precisely controlled by defining the cam profile, especially in a rotation range of the drive cam corresponding to the idling operation of the engine.

  • Patent number: 6985796
Abstract: A mail order firm receives a request for purchasing an article through Internet and the destination address. The terminal at the mail order firm converts the destination address into latitude and longitude position data to record it on an ID tag with a reader writer. The ID tag is attached to a freight containing the ordered article. A site receiving the freight reads the latitude and longitude position data to print or display the destination address in the language used by the site dealing with the freight. The deliverer can confirm that the present location where the freight is handed agrees with the latitude and longitude position data of the destination with navigating unit and GPS receiver.

  • Publication number: 20040245957
Abstract: In an index signal generator for generating an index signal for use in a direct-drive motor having a rotation axis and comprising a stator and a rotor, a particular at least one of M magnetized elements is used as an index detection magnet having magnetic force which is different from those in remaining ones of the M magnetized elements. Wound around one of a specific one of particular three cores in the stator, an index detection coil detects variations of the magnetic force generated by the ring-shaped permanent magnet to produce a detected signal. On the basis of the detected signal, the index signal is generated.

  • Publication number: 20040125219
Abstract: An image search apparatus, which searches for an arbitrary image on an HDD whereon images, obtained by monitor cameras, are recorded in a time sequence for each screen, has a CPU which sequentially reads images from the HDD for individual screens, comparing means compares an image read by the CPU with a subsequently read image, designates the subsequently read image as an arbitrary image when the two images do not match, and transmits the arbitrary image to the CPU as the search results. Therefore, the image search apparatus can easily search for an arbitrary image among images that have been photographed by cameras and have been recorded in a time sequence.
