  • Patent number: 6650491
Abstract: An RW offset setting method which includes recording a test pattern by a write head, reading the test pattern by a read head, measuring an amplitude of a read back signal at each tracking position, finding an approximate expression of a profile of the measured amplitude, finding a tracking position, and finding a RW offset based on this tracking position, setting a RW offset for all tracks in the disk device based on the RW offsets about the plurality of tracks to be measured. A read data error recovery method that includes the steps of determining an off-track direction where the amplitude increases, searching an off-track position where the amplitude becomes a local maximum, measuring the amplitude at each off-track position reading data recorded in the data sector.

  • Publication number: 20030120742
Abstract: In the system, a home server collectively receives and demodulates signals of satellite broadcasts, TV broadcasts, CATV broadcasts and telecommunication data by its receiving and demodulating portion, and, upon receipt of a request from a user display device, selects a broadcasting channel and converts the channel signal into a common data signal by its digital signal processing portion. The home server decides an address of the display device and a transmission means, modulates the common data signal by its radio control portion and, then, transmits the signal through an aerial portion thereof to the display device. The video signal from the home server is received by the display device through its antenna, wherein the signal is demodulated by a radio control portion and transferred to a recognition portion for recognizing the address of the display device or signal conversion device for displaying the video signal.

  • Patent number: 6429618
Abstract: The index signal generator generates an original signal every the rotor of the direct-drive motor rotates, and delays the original signal by a delay time to produce index signal. The index signal generator comprises, as the delay giving the delay time, the delay counter that can be set the initial value, instead of an analog delay circuit, a variable register and a capacitor. The delay counter comprises the counter and the counter value selector for determining the initial value of the counter. The counter starts to count the clock signals generated by the clock in response to the original signal, and stops counting the clock signals and generates the index signal when the number of the clock signals counted by the counter reaches the initial value.

  • Publication number: 20020065577
Abstract: A mail order firm receives a request for purchasing an article through Internet and the destination address. The terminal at the mail order firm converts the destination address into latitude and longitude position data to record it on an ID tag with a reader writer. The ID tag is attached to a freight containing the ordered article. A site receiving the freight reads the latitude and longitude position data to print or display the destination address in the language used by the site dealing with the freight. The deliverer can confirm that the present location where the freight is handed agrees with the latitude and longitude position data of the destination with navigating unit and GPS receiver.

  • Publication number: 20020039393
Abstract: Various kinds of broadcast TV signals can be watched on display devices at desirable places (rooms). High-frequency signals of CS broadcast, BS broadcast and terrestrial broadcast are received and inputted via a lead wire to a retransmission device. A high-frequency signal of a cable television broadcast is directly inputted to the retransmission device. The retransmission device subsequently converts high-frequency signals of incoming different broadcasts into common high-frequency signals and transmits them in time-series. Then, the common high-frequency signals are transmitted by wired or wireless means to a plurality of display devices that may be installed in different rooms or are portable.
