  • Patent number: 8814218
Abstract: A sticker includes a backing layer, a sticker body including a top layer and an adhesive layer, and a security arrangement cutting through the top layer only and being stopped at an adhesive layer to ensure the sticker body being completely removed from the backing layer without tearing the top layer apart. The security arrangement includes a plurality of lead edge notches evenly provided along the outer flange of the top layer, and a cutting line structure formed at the top layer. After the sticker body is completely removed from the backing layer and is applied for sticking on an object surface, the sticker body becomes a self-destructive layer by the security arrangement to be torn apart at the time when the sticker body is removed from the object surface so as to ensure the sticker body being unable to be removed completely from the object surface.

  • Publication number: 20140236797
Abstract: A system and associated methods are provided for use of fractional pay-up ticks in relation to offset orders being sent for a trading strategy that involves trading a first tradeable object and at least a second tradeable object. According to one example method, when an indication is received that a quantity at a first price for the first tradeable object is filled, a plurality of offset orders for the second tradeable object is sent to an electronic order book of the second tradeable object. The plurality of offset orders is placed at a plurality of price levels determined based on at least one fractional pay-up tick value, the first price, and the desired spread price. A quantity for each order is determined based on a quantity divider rule that is applied to an offset quantity to offset the fill.

  • Patent number: 8811687
Abstract: According to embodiments of the invention, there is provided a computer program product, a method, and a system to clean an image produced by the system. A digital canvas representation of an initial condition is produced. A set of real-time digital information is captured to form an unconstrained digital representation of the set of real-time digital information. A constraining digital mask based on the digital canvas representation of the initial condition is applied to the unconstrained digital representation of the set of real-time digital information to form a constrained digital representation of the set of real-time digital information. The constrained digital representation of the set of real-time data is stored, allowing an application program to use the constrained representation of the real-time data.

  • Patent number: 8809725
Abstract: A welding electrode assembly that includes a tip member and a coupling member and has certain self-aligning features which promote proper alignment during operation. In one embodiment, the coupling member acts as a self-aligning joint or connection and generally includes a housing, a movable plunger, and a biasing element such as a spring. During operation, contact between the tip member and a work piece surface causes the plunger to lift from an opening in the housing against the urging force of the spring so that the tip member can become properly aligned with the work piece.

  • Publication number: 20140229355
Abstract: A system and associated methods are provided for smart hedging in an electronic trading environment. According to one example method, a first order for a first tradeable object and a second order for a second tradeable object are placed based on a spread strategy. Upon receiving an indication that a quantity of the first order is filled, the method involves determining if the second order can be used to offset the quantity filled of the first order by determining if a price of the second order would result in achieving a desired spread price defined for the spread strategy. If the price results in the desired price, the second order is used to offset the quantity filled for the first order in an attempt to achieve the desired spread price. Other tools are provided as well.

  • Publication number: 20140201156
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system for selectively restoring file-level data from a disk image backup. In embodiments, a virtual machine backup may be performed by dividing a virtual machine virtual disk file into a plurality of discrete fixed-sized data blocks sharing a common index file that is stored on a backup medium, such as a hard drive, to form a backup set. The index file is referenced to determine which fixed-sized block contains volume information, such as a partition table, of the backed-up virtual machine file. The individual blocks are processed as a virtual filesystem which is mounted and presented to an access module, which traverses the filesystem and provide access to individual files in the image backup to a client process. The restore files may be delivered to the client in a container file, which may be compressed to increase transfer speed. The container file may include executable instructions for automatically restoring the files to a desired location.

  • Publication number: 20140195862
Abstract: Handing errors in program execution. The method includes identifying a set including a plurality of explicitly identified failure conditions. The method further includes determining that one or more of the explicitly identified failure conditions has occurred. As a result, the method further includes halting a predetermined first execution scope of computing, and notifying another scope of computing of the failure condition. An alternative embodiment may be practiced in a computing environment, and includes a method handing errors. The method includes identifying a set including a plurality of explicitly identified failure conditions. The method further includes determining that an error condition has occurred that is not in the set including a plurality of explicitly identified failure conditions. As a result, the method further includes halting a predetermined first execution scope of computing, and notifying another scope of computing of the failure condition.

  • Publication number: 20140192326
Abstract: A portable VOG device is disclosed that will facilitate the effective and efficient screening for TBI in military personnel in forward deployed military settings or remote locations using minimally trained staff. This includes the establishment of a protocol that will provide cost effective pre-screening of military personnel prior to deployment to establish a baseline of brain function prior to possible future injury. The efficiency of the device will promote subsequent follow-up screening to assess the effectiveness of prescribed TBI treatment. Further protocols for diagnosis and rehabilitation applications using the same virtual reality portable device will allow more advanced usage for clinicians providing ongoing evaluation and treatment.

  • Publication number: 20140195408
Abstract: A system and associated methods are provided for intelligent placement and movement of orders in an electronic trading environment. According to one example method, in addition to submitting a leg order at a calculated price level, additional orders, queue holder orders, are submitted for the leg order at prices either below or above the calculated price level. Based on this configuration, if the conditions change such that it is necessary to re-price the leg order, there will be already an order resting in the exchange order book at the re-calculated price that can be used in the strategy. Upon re-pricing the leg order, one or more additional queue holder orders will be placed in the market. Other tools are provided as well.

  • Patent number: 8776050
Abstract: A management capability is provided for a virtual computing platform. In one example, this platform allows interconnected physical resources such as processors, memory, network interfaces and storage interfaces to be abstracted and mapped to virtual resources (e.g., virtual mainframes, virtual partitions). Virtual resources contained in a virtual partition can be assembled into virtual servers that execute a guest operating system (e.g., Linux). In one example, the abstraction is unique in that any resource is available to any virtual server regardless of the physical boundaries that separate the resources. For example, any number of physical processors or any amount of physical memory can be used by a virtual server even if these resources span different nodes.
