  • Patent number: 7752551
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention comprise a design tool for designing an application interface. The design tool includes a graphical user interface (GUI) that visually represents a hierarchy of data and the relationships between the data. Thus, the design tool eliminates the need for an interface designer to have independent knowledge of the structure of the data (i.e., the data fields and relationships between the data). The design tool's GUI represents the data and the relationships between the data in a hierarchical display referred to as a data palette. An output hierarchy comprised of output levels is created as the user selects fields from the data palette to be displayed in the application's interface. When a data field is selected, the design tool automatically determines the appropriate interface component and output level of the output hierarchy using the relationships defined for the data. Output levels are associated with interface components that comprise the application's interface.

  • Patent number: 7747510
Abstract: A system and associated methods are provided for smart hedging in an electronic trading environment. According to one example method, a first order for a first tradeable object and a second order for a second tradeable object are placed based on a spread strategy. Upon receiving an indication that a quantity of the first order is filled, the method involves determining if the second order can be used to offset the quantity filled of the first order by determining if a price of the second order would result in achieving a desired spread price defined for the spread strategy. If the price results in the desired price, the second order is used to offset the quantity filled for the first order in an attempt to achieve the desired spread price. Other tools are provided as well.

  • Publication number: 20100147819
Abstract: A self-cleaning GMAW nozzle characterized by the inner surface thereof having a laminate group, preferably composed of sequentially alternating layers of metal and bonding material. Over a period of time of welding, welding spatter begins to accumulate upon an outermost metal layer of the laminate group. As the heat of welding proceeds over this same time, the adhesion of the adjoining bonding layer releases, whereby the outermost metal layer detaches, exposing a clean, new outermost metal layer. The process sequentially repeats until all metal layers have detached.

  • Patent number: 7731360
Abstract: A goggle based light-weight VOG system includes at least one digital camera connected to and powered by a laptop computer through a firewire connection. The digital camera may digitally center the pupil in both the X and Y directions. A calibration mechanism may be incorporated onto the goggle base. An EOG system may also be incorporated directly into the goggle. The VOG system may track and record 3-D movement of the eye, track pupil dilation, head position and goggle slippage. An animated eye display provides data in a more meaningful fashion. The VOG system is a modular design whereby the same goggle frame or base is used to build a variety of digital camera VOG systems.

  • Publication number: 20100092049
Abstract: In the field of eye tracking, greater accuracy or resolution in monitoring movement of the eye can be gained by digitizing the eye, and tracking the movement of a landmark with fixed size and a fixed location relative to the eye's local coordinate system. The edge of the iris can be used as such a fixed landmark. Through the location and or establishment of at least a portion of the outer edge of the iris and/or an iris center point, both large and small scale eye movements, including but not limited to micro-tremors, can be traced with a higher degree of accuracy. This will aid in the diagnosis of diseases, assessing state of consciousness, and defining brainstem death.

  • Publication number: 20100094161
Abstract: A portable virtual reality device is disclosed that will facilitate the effective and efficient screening for TBI in military personnel in forward deployed military settings or remote locations using minimally trained staff. This includes the establishment of a protocol that will provide cost effective pre-screening of military personnel prior to deployment to establish a baseline of brain function prior to possible future injury. The efficiency of the device will promote subsequent follow-up screening to assess the effectiveness of prescribed TBI treatment. Further protocols for diagnosis and rehabilitation applications using the same virtual reality portable device will allow more advanced usage for clinicians providing ongoing evaluation and treatment.

  • Publication number: 20100070403
Abstract: A system and associated methods are provided for intelligent placement and movement of orders in an electronic trading environment. According to one example method, in addition to submitting a leg order at a calculated price level, additional orders, queue holder orders, are submitted for the leg order at prices either below or above the calculated price level. Based on this configuration, if the conditions change such that it is necessary to re-price the leg order, there will be already an order resting in the exchange order book at the re-calculated price that can be used in the strategy. Upon re-pricing the leg order, one or more additional queue holder orders will be placed in the market. Other tools are provided as well.

  • Publication number: 20100055046
Abstract: Viral upper respiratory tract infections, upper respiratory infections, and common colds can be effectively treated by the administration of a combination of a nasal steroid and a nasal antihistamine. By the administration of the combination of a nasal steroid and a nasal antihistamine with the onset of cold symptoms, the histamine cascade and the inflammatory response are impeded or eliminated, reducing the severity, duration, or frequency of the onset of cold symptoms. The combination of a nasal steroid and a nasal antihistamine may be, for example, a physical mixture of the steroid and antihistamine, or it may effectively be a combination wherein the patient is administered one component (either the steroid or the antihistamine) followed by the other, without physical mixing beforehand.

  • Patent number: 7672827
Abstract: A system and method for simulating the electrical operation of a mixed analog/digital system includes the capability for analog circuit block inputs to respond to the condition in which digital gate outputs connected to the analog circuit block input are presented in high-impedance or floating signal states, thereby providing for simulation of a wide variety of mixed analog/digital designs in which this condition occurs. In a simulated design, an analog input of one or more analog circuit blocks is transformed into an analog tri-statable input-output referred to as an ioput. The ioput is capable of driving an analog signal when the digital gate outputs connected to the analog block input are presented in a high-impedance Z state; otherwise, the ioput acts as an analog input to the analog circuit block.
