  • Publication number: 20090114402
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and device for drilling, particularly percussion drilling or rotary percussion drilling a hole in soil or rock material and fixing an anchoring in the hole. To this end, a drilled hole is made by a drill bit (3) mounted on a drill rod (2). According to the invention, the drill rod (2), on the rear side facing away from the drilling surface (5) of the drill bit (3), is surrounded at a distance from the drill bit (3) by an anchoring element (4) whose outside dimension exceeds, at least in part, the circumference of the drilled hole made by the drill bit (3) whereby enabling a constructively easier and more reliable securing of the anchoring inside the drilled hole.

  • Publication number: 20090107964
Abstract: A method of minimizing the deposition of debris onto a sample being ablated. The method comprises: 1) reducing a laser pulse energy to approximately a threshold level for ablation; 2) focusing the energy using an immersion object lens having a final element and 3) ablating a region of the sample using a multitude of laser pulses, each pulse being sufficiently separated in time to reduce a concentration of ablation products in a gas phase.

  • Patent number: 7496458
Abstract: An electrical transducer has a sensor outputting a value corresponding to the quantity to be measured, an analog end stage connected downstream of the sensor, a processor circuit, and an analog measurement signal transmission path. The end stage converts the sensor output signal into an impressed output current related to the magnitude of the quantity measured, the electronic transducer being controlled with the processor circuit. The electrical transducer can be scaled by the user, has low inherent power consumption and ensures high response speed because the processor circuit in normal operation is shifted temporarily into a sleep mode, in the analog measurement signal transmission path an analog scaling unit is inserted, the output signal of the sensor and at least one analog setting value are supplied to the analog scaling unit, and the output signal of the analog scaling unit is supplied to the analog end stage.

  • Publication number: 20090024282
Abstract: A method is provided for a preventive-action protection system in a motor vehicle having an inter-vehicle distance sensor system and having safety devices for lessening the consequences of accidents, wherein driving state data is acquired by means of a driving state sensor system and is monitored, in evaluation stages, with respect to critical states of vehicle movement dynamics (emergency braking, understeering, oversteering, rolling over). As a further triggering condition, a speed threshold has to be exceeded by the vehicle's own speed or preferably by the relative speed measured by the inter-vehicle distance sensor system.

  • Publication number: 20080176147
Abstract: The present technology relates generally to laser ablation, and more particularly pertains to a system and method for eliminating structure and edge roughness, which is produced during the laser ablation of a material. Ablation of materials using a femtosecond laser beam produces a fine scale periodic structure in the ablated region. The structure consists of residual (i.e. unablated material) and is always perpendicular to the polarization direction of the laser beam. By changing the polarization direction during the ablation process, the structure is averaged over many directions and thus eliminated. This eliminates structure and edge roughness in a material caused by the laser ablation of the material. The method is employed to the repairing of photomasks so as to cause the optical quality thereof to be improved.

  • Patent number: 7320371
Abstract: A method and device for boring, particularly percussion boring or rotary percussion boring, a hole in soil or rock material and for forming an anchoring. A borehole is formed by inserting a drill bit, and a casing tube is placed inside the borehole during the boring process. Once the borehole is completed, the boring rods are detached from the drill bit and removed from the borehole. The periphery of the casing tube is provided with a number of passage openings for discharging hardenable material. A tensioning device for the anchor, particularly an anchor plate and a screw that can be screwed onto the casing tube, can be fixed to the end of the casing tube protruding from the borehole. Anchoring or fixing elements for anchoring the casing tube on the surrounding inner wall of the borehole are provided, in particular, on the end area of the casing tube oriented toward the drill bit.

  • Publication number: 20070158488
Abstract: In a method for controlling the operation of a reversible belt retractor to release a belt extraction lock of a restraint belt in a motor vehicle, the lock can be activated by an acceleration sensor. After the belt retractor has been triggered as a consequence of a hazardous situation having been detected and after the hazardous situation has been recognized as being over, the operation of the belt retractor is controlled by a release signal at a release time in order to bring about the release of the belt extraction lock to shift it from a blocking state into a comfort-providing state. The release time is determined by a sensor model algorithm based on a model of the acceleration sensor from at least one variable characterizing the running dynamics.

  • Patent number: 7211300
Abstract: An element is deposited by flowing a gas through a solid donor compound that includes the element, and over a substrate. The flow of gas deposits a film of a few monolayers of donor compound on the substrate. An optical radiation source (e.g., a femtosecond laser) which produces optical radiation at an instantaneous intensity sufficient to cause non linear or otherwise enhanced interaction between optical radiation photons and the donor compound is used to decompose the donor compound and deposit the metal on the substrate. After an initial deposit of the donor compound is produced, optical radiation can be absorbed and heat the substrate in the localized area of the deposit in order to accelerate the deposition process by thermally decomposing the donor compound.

  • Patent number: 6831465
Abstract: An electrical measurement device is described, with a measurement input, an integrated sensor, a measurement and evaluation circuit, and a measured value display, and several measured value outputs. The electrical measurement device enables not only one measured value or several measured values to be determined, but makes it possible to display and process the determined measured values depending on other values such as comparison values and setpoints. An influencing input acts on the measurement and evaluation circuit and is the connecting point for the electrical measurement device to which or via which an influencing value can be applied or input. Therefore, a value with which the measured value can be influenced in the broadest sense is applied.
