    Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices are described herein for placing secondary content into a break of unknown duration in a stream of primary content. In one aspect the described techniques may include receiving information indicative of a break in streaming of the primary content, such as metadata data that is inserted into the stream of primary content, for example, on a client device. A duration of the stream of the primary content may be obtained. Secondary content may be played, for example during a break in the streaming of the primary content. Upon detecting that the duration of the stream of the primary content has increased to a second duration, for example, in response to the client device receiving additional primary content, the primary content may be streamed.

A distributed parallel processing database system persists table data in memory to a distributed file system. A parameter of creating a database table specifies that data records in the database table and history of changes to the data records can be stored in memory as well as in the distributed file system. When the database table is populated or otherwise modified, data records and the history in memory are evicted to the distributed file system as log files and removed from memory. The log files can be designated as write-only, where the data records, once written, cannot be read by structured query language (SQL) queries, or as read-write, where the data records, once written, can be read by SQL queries.

In yet another aspect, a content rendition may be selected for presentation based on performance of the rendition out of multiple renditions in an auction.

    Abstract: An apparatus made of wheels arranged axially on a central spindle that are rotated with respect to one another in myriad combinations to create unique, complex passwords for use in computer systems. The wheels are labeled with a randomized selection of characters found on standard computer keyboards, including upper and lower-case characters, numbers, and special characters, together with some or all characters put on colored backgrounds found on each wheel. A memorized master password is used to align the wheels, which reveals a series of unique, complex passwords arrayed across the perimeter of the wheels for use in computer applications. When not in use, the wheels are rotated to a random or storage position, providing for obfuscation of the passwords and allowing the device to be stored in plain sight.

A chat room can be pointed to by more than one node if the room is discussing multiple topics. Rooms can migrate from node to node as room topic dynamically changes. A system user who explicitly or inferentially wishes to be invited into a chat room which is on-topic with what the user is currently focused upon can do so by use of a node-seeking automated process. The process operates in the background and seeks out nodes of the hierarchy tree that currently have topics appearing to be the same as or similar to what topics the user appears to have in mind.
