  • Publication number: 20160145976
Abstract: A reservoir simulator system models the effect of proppant damage on reservoir production through calculation of a fracture closure stress versus fracture permeability relationship, which is mathematically transformed into a pore pressure versus fracture permeability relationship. Based upon the pore pressure relationship, the system models reservoir production while taking into account the permeability reduction in the fractures brought about due to proppant damage.

  • Publication number: 20160134114
Abstract: The invention relates to a control system for compensating undesired electrical harmonics on an electrical grid. Part of the control system referred to as a harmonic compensator is operatively connected with a power inverter of a power producing unit supplying power to the grid. Another part of the control system, referred to as an impedance detector, is operatively connected to a point of coupling to which point one or more power producing units are connected. The impedance detector is configured to scan impedances as a function of frequency to identify frequencies of impedance peaks which peaks are indicative of resonance frequencies. The determined resonance frequencies are supplied to one or more the harmonic compensators. A compensator determines control signals to the inverter which causes the inverter to inject compensation currents to the grid which currents will damp currents oscillating at or close to the determined resonance frequency.

  • Publication number: 20160127267
Abstract: A distributed switch architecture supports very high bandwidth applications. For instance, the distributed switch architecture may be implemented for cloud networks. The architecture scales by organizing traffic management components into tiled structures with distributed buffering. The tile structures are replicated and interconnected to perform transfers from ingress to egress using an interconnect bandwidth scheduling algorithm. Bandwidth scaling may be achieved by adding more tiles to achieve higher bandwidth. The interconnect in the architecture may be swapped out depending on implementation parameters, e.g., physical efficiency.

  • Patent number: 9304031
Abstract: A weight management mat for passively and automatically monitoring weight for one or more individuals in a household. The weight management mat generally includes a housing having an upper mat and a lower mat between which is sealed a pair of perpendicular sensor arrays. Each sensor array includes fiber optic cables laid out in a grid pattern. One or more microbend inducers act to induce detectable microbends in the fiber optic cables when an individual steps on the upper mat. The change in light intensity caused by these microbends is recorded by photodetectors and processed by a microcontroller. The present invention may be utilized to identify each unique individual stepping on the present invention by the pressure map of their feet. Thus, recorded weight measurements may be tracked to aid in weight management.
