  • Publication number: 20150195646
Abstract: A programmable Active Noise Compensation (ANC) system for an audio input includes a parameter store structured to store a number of various filter parameters. A mode of operation is selected that represents the type of environment the ANC system is operating in—feed-forward, feed-back, or combined feed-forward and feedback. Different filter parameters are retrieved from the parameter store based on the selected mode and desired operation. Audio inputs are sampled at a relatively high sample rate that matches inputs from a feed-forward and feedback microphone that may be present in the system. Parameters and instructions may be changed in the system responsive to changing conditions of the compensation system.

  • Publication number: 20150164374
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses and systems are described for determining respiration through impedance measurements using only two electrodes. A drive signal may be applied to a person, using only two electrodes. Using the same electrodes, the fluctuations in the voltage of the drive signal are determined. The voltage fluctuations in the drive signal are the result of impedance variations in the person's thoracic cavity due to respiration. Therefore, the voltage fluctuations may be used to determine a respiration rate of the person. In doing so, the voltage fluctuations may be digitized using a sampling rate that is much less than the frequency of the applied drive signal.

  • Patent number: 9053270
Abstract: Various embodiments use connectivity information or model(s), design attribute(s), and system intelligence layer(s) to make lower blocks at lower levels aware of changes made in other blocks at same or different levels to implement the design at different levels synchronously. Budgeting is performed for the design to distribute budgets to respective blocks in the design. The various budgets may be borrowed from one or more blocks and lent to a block in order for this block to meet closure requirements such that a total number of iterations of the reassembly process, which integrates lower level blocks into top level design, may be reduced or completely eliminated. The design attribute(s) or the connectivity model(s) or information is updated upon the identification of changes to provide the latest information or data for properly closing a design.

  • Publication number: 20150154242
Abstract: Methods and systems for detecting expiration time of an article include receiving the article for a pre-planned event. The article is analyzed to identify one or more attributes. The article is matched to an event identifier using the article attributes. The event identifier is pre-defined and stored in an event database. The event identifier acts as an index to the event database for obtaining event characteristics of the pre-planned event. The article attributes are examined to identify event phase indicators that correlate to a specific event phase of the pre-planned event. The expiration time of the article is computed based on the specific event phase identified for the pre-planned event. The expiration time is used to rank the article and for considering assigning the article to a content pool of articles that is selected for publishing for the specific event phase of the pre-planned event.

  • Publication number: 20150146022
Abstract: A method of determining stability of a camera comprises capturing an image with the camera and then (A) determining a magnitude of motion for each region of a current sub-division of the image. A step (B) then determines a number of the magnitudes of motion not larger than a magnitude threshold associated with the current sub-division, and where the determined number is greater than or equal to a region threshold associated with the number of regions in the current sub-division, (i) determining the camera to be stable, or otherwise (ii) dividing the current sub-division of the image into a further sub-division and repeating steps (A) and (B) upon the further sub-division.

  • Patent number: 9032009
Abstract: A multiplier circuit for multiplying first and second binary values includes a first logic circuit, a priority encoder, a shifter circuit, and an accumulator. The first logic circuit receives the first binary value and a multiplier modifier, and modifies the first binary value based on the multiplier modifier. The multiplier modifier is generated by the priority encoder. The priority encoder also generates a position binary value indicating the position of a most significant set bit in the modified first binary value. The shifter circuit receives the position binary value from the priority encoder and the second binary value and generates an intermediate result. The accumulator accumulates one or more of the intermediate results and generates a final product that is a product of the first and second binary values.
