  • Publication number: 20110113121
Abstract: The method and system allows a remote user to virtually access and use software in his/her primary processing unit from remotely located mobile input/output device which can comprise a display, keyboard, mouse, and a transceiver. The only function of the mobile input/output device is to send input signals to the remotely located primary processing unit where they are processed and transmitted back to the mobile input/output device for display and use by the user. Input sent from the mobile input/output device to the primary processing unit is in the form of raw, unprocessed electronic signals. The mobile input/output device uses computing power of the primary processing unit; the CPU, applications, files and services of the primary processing unit to process the electronic signals. The mobile input/output device needs only very limited power, and does not require its own software and associated hardware to duplicate data processing or storage functions.

  • Publication number: 20110109279
Abstract: A method for determining a rotor position of an electrical generator in a wind turbine is described comprising determining a voltage of the electrical generator, determining a rotor position angle estimate based on the voltage of the electrical generator, determining a subsequent rotor position angle estimate through a feedback loop, based on a combination of the voltage of the electrical generator and the rotor position angle estimate. Further, a method to real time track encoder health is described comprising determining the phase angle of a reference voltage, determining the angle difference between the rotor position and the reference voltage, and determining the differentiation of the angle difference.

  • Publication number: 20110109105
Abstract: A bumper system includes an injection molded energy absorber of polymeric material having hollow longitudinally-spaced lobes configured to crush and absorb energy during a pedestrian impact, and straps interconnecting adjacent lobes. The lobes are particularly sized and dimensioned, including potentially external ribs and/or apertures in corners, to provide a relatively uniform impact energy absorption during an impact stroke during crush of the shear walls of the lobes, such as within +/?30% or more preferably within +/?20% of a desired amount regardless of a specific location of impact, along a selected center portion of the energy absorber. A reason for the uniformity is to promote pedestrian safety regardless of the specific location where a pedestrian's leg strikes the energy absorber.

  • Patent number: 7940665
Abstract: A system and method that optimizes transmission control protocol (TCP) flow control without intruding upon TCP's core algorithms. A control module relatively near a sender's local area network (LAN) automatically identifies a packet flow that has become window-limited. After the packet flow has been identified as window-limited, the control module relatively near the sender's LAN and another control module relatively near a receiver's LAN optimize the packet flow by increasing the window size indicated in the receiver's acknowledgment packet. Both control modules operate synchronously to transparently manage the packet flow between the sender and the receiver.

  • Patent number: 7941408
Abstract: Disclosed is a mechanism, system, interface, and process to allow specification of a new table decoration clause to obtain one or more past version of one or more data items. The version query provides for a direct interface to get multiple versions of the row(s). In addition, information about the past versions can be retrieved and displayed along with the past versions. Also disclosed are algorithms, mechanisms, and processes that are employed to implement a query upon past versions. In one approach, the version query can be defined as either “rowid”-based access or non-rowid based access. With rowid based access, a given rowid is used to identify the data for which past versions are desired. Also disclosed is a process for determining one or more life intervals when given a key.

  • Patent number: 7941575
Abstract: Apparatus and associated systems and methods may relate to a data traffic modification system that may include a processing module to handle SATA-compliant data transfers in which a source device or a target device issues requests to pause and subsequently to resume the data transfer. In various implementations, a data traffic modification device may selectively modify data traffic upon the occurrence of a predetermined condition. In one illustrative example, if a target device for the data transfer issues a pause request (e.g., to prevent a buffer overflow), the data traffic modification device may generate a pause acknowledge signal to the target device within a response time specified by the protocol. In another illustrative example, if a source device for the data transfer issues a pause request, the data traffic modification device may generate a pause acknowledge signal to the source device within the response time specified by the protocol.

  • Patent number: 7941783
Abstract: A software application development tool supports a specified design-time data feed. A software application developer can interact with the development tool to specify a design-time data feed that is to be used during development of an application in place of a given run-time data feed that is not available for access by the application. For instance, a software application developer may code the application with reference(s) to the unavailable run-time data feed, and the developer may specify to the development tool a design-time data feed for such referenced run-time data feed. The development tool then manages correlation of the specified design-time feed to the run-time feed such that references to the run-time feed in the application under development instead trigger access to the specified design-time feed by the development tool. When deployed in a run-time environment, the software application's references to the run-time feed trigger access to such run-time feed.

  • Publication number: 20110103226
Abstract: An apparatus for and method of encapsulating Ethernet frames over a Very high speed Digital Subscriber Line (VDSL) transport facility. The VDSL frames are transmitted over a point to point VDSL link where they are subsequently extracted and forwarded as standard Ethernet frames. The VDSL facility transport system comprises an Ethernet to VDSL Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) coupled to a DSL Access Multiplexor (DSLAM) over a VDSL transport facility. The Ethernet to VDSL CPE functions to receive a 10BaseT Ethernet signal and encapsulate the Ethernet frame into a VDSL frame for transmission over the VDSL facility. The DSLAM is adapted to receive VDSL frames, extract Ethernet frames therefrom and generate and output a standard Ethernet signal. Ethernet frames are encapsulated within VDSL frames and transmitted on the wire pair without regard to the state of the SOC signals.

  • Publication number: 20110099280
Abstract: The present disclosure provides secure connectivity to remote networks on demand without requiring an interactive logon at a wireless client. Specifically, the present invention utilizes a proxy in a wireless network, such as an Access Point (AP) or the like, to provide client access to a remote, hosted network external to the wireless network. The present invention utilizes existing wireless security protocols and other security mechanisms between the proxy and the remote, hosted network. In operation, a wireless network proxy responds to a wireless client that is seeking a remote, hosted network, such as through an association request. The wireless network proxy then serves as an intermediary between the remote, hosted network and the wireless client to enable secure end-to-end communication.
