  • Patent number: 9430952
Abstract: A mechanism is provided in a data processing system for determining comprehensiveness of a question paper given a syllabus of topics. An answer and evidence generator of a question answering system executing on the data processing system finds one or more answers based on the syllabus of topics for each question in the question paper. The answer and evidence generator identifies evidence for the one or more answers in the syllabus for each question in the question paper. A concept identifier of the question answering system identifies a set of concepts in the syllabus corresponding to the evidence for each question in the question paper to form a plurality of sets of concepts. • Patent number: 9428884
Abstract: An controller uses one of several transfer curves to map steering angle of an articulated machine to articulation angle. Because an articulated machine may have a range of steering angles that is much greater than the range of articulation angles, the controller uses one of several techniques to map the full range of steering angles to the full range of articulation angles. One technique involves multiple non-zero slope regions, another technique uses a less than one-to-one linear transfer function of steering angle to articulation angle.

  • Publication number: 20160249343
Abstract: Systems and methods for simultaneous sampling of serial digital data streams from multiple analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), including in distributed antenna systems, are disclosed. In one embodiment, a controller unit samples a plurality of serial digital data streams simultaneously. To allow the controller unit to sample the multiple serial digital data streams simultaneously from a plurality of ADCs, the controller unit is configured to provide a plurality of data input ports. Each of the ADCs is coupled to a common chip select port and clock signal port on the controller unit. The controller unit communicates a chip select signal on the chip select port to activate all of the ADCs simultaneously to cause each of the ADCs to provide its respective digital data stream to the respective data input port of the controller unit simultaneously for sampling. As a result, fewer or lower-cost components may be used to sample multiple ADCs.
