    Abstract: A method for image processing with encoding selection is provided. In accordance with the color pixel, the maximum pixel value, and the minimum pixel value, the corresponding encoding method is selected and encoding is performed for producing encoding data corresponding to the color pixel. The present invention further comprises a color-difference operational for selecting a plurality of color pixels as a basic pixel, a first color pixel, and a second color pixel. When encoding the basic pixel, a first color difference, and a second color difference, respectively, first encoding data corresponding to the basic pixel, second encoding data corresponding to the first color difference, and third encoding data corresponding to the second color difference are produced, respectively.

    Abstract: A system for processing a television (TV) picture-out-picture (POP) includes a line buffer, a first multiplexer, an image processing engine, a scaling engine and a timing generator. The line buffer receives partial pixels of a first picture and partial pixels of a second picture. The first multiplexer selects the partial pixels of the first and second picture as an output. The image processing engine performs an image processing on the partial pixels output by the first multiplexer to thereby produce processed pixels. The scaling engine performs a scaling operation on the processed pixels to thereby produce scaled pixels. The timing generator produces a timing signal for the image processing engine and the scaling engine and produces enable signals respectively for the first picture and the second picture. The image processing engine and the scaling engine process the partial pixels of the first or second picture in multiplexing.

The white material of the reflective back cover reflects lights such that the back cover can be an integral component featuring multiple functions of various components. With the thickness control of the reflective back cover, a concave can be formed at the side of the back cover where a light source is contained and the concave further retains the light source and its flexible printed circuit board. With the incorporation of the reflective back cover, the thickness of the backlight module can be reduced and a reliable and repetitive manufacturing of the backlight module can be introduced.
