  • Publication number: 20190244517
Abstract: System and techniques for enhanced electronic navigation maps for a vehicle are described herein. A set of map tiles may be received at a vehicle component from a remote entity. Sensor derived data that has a locality corresponding to a map tile in the set of map tiles may be obtained. A field-programmable gate array of the vehicle may then be invoked to combine the sensor derived data and the map tile to create a modified map tile. The modified map tile may be communicated to a control system of the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20190238213
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) includes a transceiver and a processor operatively coupled to the transceiver. The transceiver and the processor establish a connection with a first wireless network node and a second wireless network node. The transceiver and the processor also receive power configurations and timing advances from the first wireless network node independently of the second wireless network node. The transceiver and the processor also simultaneously receive downlink signals from both the first wireless network node and the second wireless network node. The downlink signals are independently scheduled by a scheduler of the first wireless network node and a scheduler of the second wireless network node.

  • Publication number: 20190215229
Abstract: A method of accessing services affiliated with a service provider is disclosed. An issuer performs a bootstrap procedure with the at least one discovered service provider. The issuer performs a discovery procedure to determine available service capability layers (SCLs) supported by the at least one discovered service provider. The issuer transmits a domain name system-based service discovery (DNS-SD) query from the issuer to a DNS-SD M2M service discovery function (MSDF) server. The DNS-SD MSDF server is provisioned with SCL discovery records. The DNS-SD MSDF server is registered with a public DNS registrar entity. The SCL discovery records include, for each SCL, a type of M2M service capabilities supported by each SCL and a class of M2M services supported by each SCL. The issuer receives SCL discovery records from the DNS-SD MSDF server in response to the DNS-SD query.

  • Publication number: 20190174344
Abstract: Systems and methods of providing V2X communications are generally described. The multimode UE communicates V2X messages with an eNB. The eNB detects whether the UE is able to receive messages from a nearby DSRC RSU based on measurements received from the UE and reported to the eNB. Based on the measurements, the eNB offloads V2X traffic to the DSRC RSU and triggers the UE to start communicating the V2X services from the DSRC RSU rather than the eNB. The measurements are reported in a BSR or DSRC MAC control element or RRC measurement report. The measurement report includes DSRC presence fields, CCH measurements and SCH measurements for each DSRC RSU that the UE is able to detect.

Abstract: User Equipment (UE), computer readable medium, and method to determine a mobility of the UE are disclosed. The UE may include circuitry configured to determine a plurality of signals from a serving cell. The each signal of the plurality of signals may be one or more of: a reference signal receive power (RSRP), a reference signal receive quality (RSRQ), a received signal strength indicator (RSSI), a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), a signal-to-interference-ratio (SIR), a signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR), and a CQI. The circuitry may be configured to determine a measure for each of a window size of the plurality of signals. Each measure may be a variance of the plurality of signals, a standard deviation of the plurality of signals, a percent confidence interval (CI) of a mean of the measure, and a linear combination of measures. The circuitry may determine whether the UE is stationary based on one or more measures.

  • Publication number: 20190150082
Abstract: Systems and methods of providing a V2X communications are generally described. A geographically-limited, operator-independent mapping table is used that maps between groups of V2X applications each associated with a different application category and a different RAT preferred for the V2X application category. Each grouping is based on fulfillment of one or more KPIs for the associated V2X application category. Multiple RATs are prioritized if able to fulfill the KPIs. The mapping table is modified based on the RATs supported by the V2X UE. Carrier aggregation is used when simultaneous transmission on different RATs is desired.

  • Patent number: 10270518
Abstract: Methods and wireless devices are described. A method includes a wireless device transmitting to wireless transmit/receive units (WTRUs) by being scheduled by the base station or using a pool of radio resources, which is for any of a plurality of wireless devices to use for transmission to WTRUs. On a condition that the wireless device is to be scheduled by the base station, the wireless device receives scheduling information for transmission to a WTRU having a group radio network terminal identifier (RNTI) and transmits to the WTRU in response to the received scheduling information. The scheduling information for transmission to the base station uses a different RNTI. On a condition that the wireless device is to use the pool of radio resources for transmission to a WTRU, the wireless device transmits to the WTRU without being scheduled by the base station using the pool of radio resources.

  • Patent number: 10111240
Abstract: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE) arranged for transmitting packets in a cellular network are disclosed herein. The UE can generate a first packet having a first packet classification information and a second packet having a second packet classification information. The first packet classification information can be associated with a different quality of service (QoS) requirement than the second packet classification information. Additionally, the UE can determine, based on the second packet classification information, a second traffic flow from the plurality of traffic flows for transmitting the second packet. Subsequently, the UE send the first packet to the first traffic flow and the second packet to the second traffic flow.

  • Patent number: 10085292
Abstract: A method and apparatus for supporting machine-type communications (MTC) are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may configure itself to operate in a mobile-originated-only mode. The WTRU may perform no, or a subset of, radio resource control (RRC) idle and/or non-access stratum (NAS) idle/standby state procedures in the mobile-originated-only mode. For example, the WTRU may perform cell reselection but not paging monitoring in the mobile-originated-only mode. Alternatively, the WTRU may perform paging monitoring but not cell reselection and location update. The operation in the mobile-originated-only mode may be triggered explicitly or implicitly. For example, the WTRU may operate in the mobile-originated-only mode if an inactivity timer expires. The WTRU may switch the mode in accordance with a pre-configured schedule. After transition of the operation mode, the WTRU may send a message to the network indicating such mode switch.
