  • Patent number: 12179338
Abstract: Arrangements of a gripper finger and a clamp for use in an automated parallel gripper are provided. The arrangements will include first and second gripper fingers that are moveable in a direction of translation (y), whereby the clamp is connected to the gripper finger at an underside thereof, so as to be rotational about a vertical axis of rotation. The clamp has a front face with a contact surface for engagement with a lateral edge of an item to be gripped and has a default orientation in which the front face is parallel to a lateral direction (x) that is perpendicular to the direction of translation (y) and to the vertical rotation axis. The arrangements are additionally provided with a self-alignment feature which includes first and second biasing mechanisms arranged at either side of the rotation axis in lateral direction (x).

  • Patent number: 12178346
Abstract: A bedding system, method and kit for the automation and ventilation of an existing duvet are disclosed. The system has an inflatable lining configured to be inserted and affixed into a cover together with the duvet, the inflatable lining comprising a network of pneumatic chambers defining a plurality of openings extending through the lining allowing air to circulate through the lining; and an air blower operatively connected to the inflatable lining for blowing air into the network of pneumatic chambers, so as in use, the inflatable lining is inflated to allow for the duvet and its cover to be straightened back into position after every use of the bed. The system can also include a sub-network for providing warm or cold air to control the temperature of the bedding. In contrast to traditional systems, the proposed invention is light weight and easily adaptable to current commercially available beds.

  • Patent number: 12178275
Abstract: A garment worn by a wearer has an exterior shell and an interior shell with various impact absorbing material between the exterior shell and the interior shell. The impact absorbing material includes multiple structures, such as rods or filaments, capable of deforming when force is applied then returning to its state prior to application of the force. In various embodiments, a rate sensitive material (RSM) is positioned in one or more locations relative to the exterior shell and the interior shell of the garment to further attenuate impacts to the garment. The RSM changes its resistance to force based on a rate at which the material is loaded.

  • Patent number: 12178618
Abstract: A method for dynamically determining a separation distance in which thermal images of a space are received that indicate a count and location of users within the space, temperature of the users within the space are received along with acoustic data from the users within the space, which is filtered to include specific symptom-related sounds and discard other sounds. The one or more processors generate a probability of a contagious infection of users within the space at a location determined by the thermal images, based on correlating the temperature and the acoustic data associated with the users within the space. A separation distance from the users within the space is calculated, based on the locations and the probabilities of infection of the users within the space, and a notification corresponding to the calculated separation distance is delivered to a protected user.

The manipulator assemblies include a holding tool having a lifting surface. The manipulator assemblies include a linear actuator, and the holding tool is connected to the linear actuator by a multiaxial joint. A drive provides—the displacement of the holding tool by the linear actuator. The end effector includes resilient members each rigidly affixed to two adjacent holding tools and positioned in a space providing a mutual distance between opposing faces of the adjacent holding tools, where each holding tool is connected to—adjacent holding tools—by the resilient members. The resilient members are configured to non-permanently deform in the space when adjacent holding tools are displaced relative to each other along displacement axes.
