Abstract: Semiconductor devices and more particularly edge-emitting semiconductor devices and related methods are disclosed. Exemplary edge-emitting semiconductor devices include LED edge emitters. Electrical connections for edge-emitting devices may be provided along certain device edges with opposing edges forming light-emitting edges. LED edge emitters may be vertically arranged and assembled together to form LED arrays with reduced pitch. Related methods include bonding multiple wafer-level structures, such as LED wafers, together, followed by separation techniques that result in individual edge emitters or groupings of edge emitters in the form of LED arrays.

  • Publication number: 20250005795
Abstract: A wearable display system with a limited number of cameras. Two cameras can be arranged to provide an overlapping central view field and a peripheral view field associated with one of the two cameras. A third camera can be arranged to provide a color view field overlapping the central view field. The wearable display system may be coupled to a processor configured to generate a world model and track hand motion in the central view field using the two cameras. The processor may be configured to perform a calibration routine to compensate for distortions during use of the wearable display system. The processor may be configured to identify and address portions of the world model including incomplete depth information by obtaining additional depth information, such as by enabling emitters, detecting planar surfaces in the physical world, or identifying relevant object templates in the world model.

  • Publication number: 20250006343
Abstract: The present invention relates to medical imaging. In order to reduce repeat images, it is proposed to enable automated prediction of quality metrics prior to image formation by exploiting data from sensors. This may greatly improve the quality of medical image data acquired in the actual imaging examination, thereby leading to fewer retakes, less delayed treatment to patients, shortened workflow, and higher patient rate. In X-ray and CT exams, fewer retakes may also reduce radiation doses for patients.

  • Publication number: 20250006080
Abstract: System and methods provide driver performance rating and driving coaching feedback and make incident and exceedance predictions. Driving event data including data spanning multiple separate driving trips is analyzed using a trend detection model to generate a trend detection result that is used to determine a driver performance rating. The trend detection model may be a functional regression model, a linear fit model and/or a polynomial fit model. Driver coaching signals representative of driving instructions are generated based results of the trend detection model applied to the driving event data. Driving incident predictions are made based on the results of the trend detection model applied to the driving event data to a predetermined threshold.

  • Publication number: 20250005933
Abstract: System and methods for tracking transaction flow through a customer service area. The present invention provides automated, non-intrusive tracking of individuals, based on a series of still image frames obtained from one or more colour sensors. Images of individuals are extracted from each frame and the datasets resulting from the cropped images are compared across multiple frames. The datasets are grouped together into groups called “tracklets”, which can be further merged into “customer sets”. Various pieces of metadata related to individuals' movement (such as customer location and the duration of each transaction state) can be derived from the customer sets. Additionally, individual images may be anonymized into mathematical representations.

  • Publication number: 20250001005
Abstract: An encoding/decoding apparatus and method using a low-density parity-check code (LDPC code) is disclosed. Basic column group information, serving as a set of information regarding positions of rows with weight 1, is extracted from a reference column in each column group of a predetermined parity-check matrix. Column group information transforms the positions of rows with weight 1 into positions whose lengths are within a required parity length. A parity-check matrix is generated according to the generated column group information. Data is enclosed or decoded based on the generated parity-check matrix.
