  • Publication number: 20160328765
Abstract: A comparison between items for sale in a marketplace and items for sale at an external retailer is used to generate one or more recommended actions for the marketplace. For example, if the marketplace has a comparable quantity of available items in a product cluster with better prices, a recommendation to promote the items based on price may be generated As another example, if the marketplace has a better variety of items available in the product cluster, a recommendation to promote the items that are unavailable at the external retailer may be generated. As a third example, if the marketplace has fewer items available in the product cluster, a recommendation to procure additional inventory may be generated. As yet another example, if the marketplace has items available in the product cluster at a higher price than the external retailer, a recommendation to reduce prices may be generated.

  • Patent number: 9484964
Abstract: Disclosed here is an interactive audio system and a method of operating the same. In one embodiment, the interactive audio system comprises a processor and a receiving module for receiving a radio frequency (RF) carrier signal associated with a broadcast station. The audio system further comprises a memory storing computer-executable instructions, where the processing module is configured to access and execute the computer-executable instructions to perform a set of acts. The acts include shifting a frequency associated with the received RF carrier signal to an intermediate frequency (IF). The acts include demodulating the frequency shifted portion of the RF carrier signal associated with the broadcast station, the demodulation resulting in an output signal. The acts further include extracting an embedded data from the demodulated output signal, where the embedded data can be utilized to interact with a party associated the embedded data.

  • Publication number: 20160315615
Abstract: An integrated circuit includes first circuitry and sleep transistor circuitry. The first circuitry receives input signals and processes the input signals. The first circuitry also retains data in a sleep state that has low leakage. The sleep transistor circuitry is coupled to the first circuitry and receives a sleep signal that has a negative voltage. The sleep circuitry reduces power consumption of the first circuitry in the sleep state to have low leakage based on the sleep signal while retaining the data in the first circuitry.

  • Publication number: 20160162989
Abstract: A mobile opportunistic trading system is described where traders list items they wish to trade along with ask prices or offer bids on a trading server. Traders may also include additional information related to the distance or time they are willing to travel in order to trade items. The trading server identifies potential trades and notifies the traders of this. The traders may then organize and participate in an opportunistic market. Traders may also carry mobile computing devices that use a GPS, or other mechanism to determine their present location and communicate this to the trading system. When two or more traders are within an acceptable distance of each other an opportunistic trading market can be created. The mobile opportunistic trading system may also obtain information related to traders travel plans and use this information in order to determine that an opportunistic market is possible.

Abstract: An activity monitoring device, methods and computer readable media are provided. The activity monitoring device includes a housing configured for attachment to a body part of a user and a display screen attached to the housing. Further included is a first sensor disposed in the housing for capturing motion of the activity monitoring device when attached to the body part of the user and a second sensor disposed in the housing for sampling a heart rate of the user. Memory is disposed in the housing for storing the motion captured by the first sensor and the heart rate sampled by the second sensor. A processor is disposed in the housing and is configured to determine a physical state of the user during a period of time. For motion that is below a threshold the processor identifies the physical state to be a sedentary state and for motion that is at or above the threshold the processor identifies the physical state to be an active state.

  • Patent number: 9354411
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein include receiver optical assemblies (ROAs) having a photo-detector remotely located from a differential transimpedance amplifier (TIA). Related components, circuits, and methods are also disclosed. By providing the photo-detector remotely located from a TIA, additional costs associated with design constraints of providing the photo-detector intimate with a TIA may be avoided, thereby reducing cost of the ROA. In this regard as a non-limiting example, the ROAs according to the embodiments disclosed herein allow shorter haul active optical cable applications for use in consumer applications from a cost standpoint with the added benefits of increased bandwidth and low noise performance of optical fiber.

  • Publication number: 20160121072
Abstract: An obstructive sleep apnea treatment device is disclosed herein. In embodiments the device eliminates the need for large peripheral equipment such as an air pump and hoses commonly associated with current treatment devices. In embodiments, the device is comprised of a main mask body component, at least one expiratory or exhalation pressure valve, at least one inspiratory or inhalation valve. In other embodiments, the device is further comprised of a forehead cushion component, a facial seal component, and an attachment component. In embodiments, the main mask body component is a nasal covering mask configured with a positive end expiratory adjustable pressure valve to generate a resistance on a patient's exhalation thus pressuring the nasal airways without the need of an air pump or electrical power source. Positive pressurization of the airways reduces the occurrence of apneas.

  • Publication number: 20160063436
Abstract: A first delivery job is received and placed into a queue to be auctioned to couriers after a first period of time that is determined based on first delivery constraints of the first job. A second delivery job is received before the first period of time expires. The second job is placed into the queue to be auctioned after a second period of time that is determined based on second delivery constraints of the second job if it is determined that the first and second jobs cannot be performed by a single courier within the delivery constraints of both jobs. The jobs are auctioned to couriers as a single item after a third period of time that is determined based on the delivery constraints of both jobs if the first and second jobs may be performed by a single courier within the delivery constraints of both jobs.

  • Publication number: 20160034634
Abstract: The disclosure provides BMDs that have multiple device modes depending on operational conditions of the devices, e.g., motion intensity, device placement, and/or activity type. The device modes are associated with various data processing algorithms. In some embodiments, the BMD is implemented as a wrist-worn or arm-worn device. In some embodiments, methods for tracking physiological metrics using the BMDs are provided. In some embodiments, the process or the BMD applies a time domain analysis on data provided by a sensor of the BMD when the data has a high signal (e.g., high signal-to-noise ratio), and applies a frequency domain analysis on the data when the data has a low signal, which contributes to improved accuracy and speed of biometric data.
