  • Patent number: 11040387
Abstract: A method is disclosed for pressure forming a metal preform including shock annealing of the preform and subsequently preheating the preform prior to pressure forming. Shock annealing may be carried out as differential shock annealing in which different regions of the preform are annealed to different degrees. Preheating may be carried out by differentially preheating, optionally shock preheating, different regions of the preform for preheating at least those regions of the preform which will be subject to elevated expansion during pressure forming. Shock annealing by induction heating can lower energy consumption, reduce processing times and allow for larger expansion of the preform.

  • Publication number: 20210047105
Abstract: A beverage-ingredient cartridge for storing and dispensing beverage ingredients. The cartridge includes a container for storing a first beverage ingredient, and a cap secured within an open upper end of the container that seals the open upper end. The cap includes a storage compartment for storing a second beverage ingredient having a base and a sidewall extending from a the base. A line of weakness defines a separable region of the base, and a column extends from the separable region of the base and is spaced apart from the sidewall. A plastic film is secured to the sidewall and to the column that seals the storage compartment. Upon application of a force to the column, the separable region separates from the base and the plastic film tears such that the storage compartment and container are open to the outside of the beverage-ingredient cartridge.

  • Publication number: 20210004630
Abstract: A method to reconstruct an environment is provided. The method makes available to a wide variety of XR applications fresh and accurate 3D reconstruction data of environments with low processing time and low usage of computational resources and storage spaces. The 3D reconstruction data are structured in a way to be efficiently shared between users for multi-user experiences. The method includes obtaining plane segments of an environment, identifying surface planes of the environment by, for example, filtering and grouping the plane segments or ad hoc selection of the plane segments by a user, and inferring corner points of the environment based on the surface planes. The corner points are used to build a 3D representation of the environment when an XR application requires.

  • Publication number: 20200389188
Abstract: A deep neural network (DNN) media noise predictor configured for one-dimensional-magnetic (1DMR) recording or two-dimensional-magnetic (TDMR) is introduced. Such architectures are often combined with a trellis-based intersymbol interference (ISI) detection component in a turbo architecture to avoid the state explosion problem by separating the inter-symbol interference (ISI) detection and media noise estimation into two separate detectors and uses the turbo-principle to exchange information between them so as to address the modeling problem by way of training a DNN-based media noise estimators. Thus, beneficial aspects include a reduced bit-error rate (BER), an increased areal density, and a reduction in computational complexity and computational time.

  • Publication number: 20200207535
Abstract: A beverage ingredient cartridge for releasing beverage ingredients into a bottle to create a mixed beverage includes a body defining a liquid-ingredient chamber, a cap defining a solid-ingredient chamber, and an opening mechanism disposed on the cap. Upon a force applied to the beverage ingredient cartridge, a piercer of the bottle drives through the dispensing end of the cartridge, causing teeth of the opening mechanism to tear through films sealing the liquid-ingredient chamber and solid-ingredient chamber. This mixes contents of the liquid-ingredient chamber with contents of the solid-ingredient chamber and releases the mixed contents from the beverage ingredient cartridge into a bottle below that is filled with a liquid, creating a mixed beverage.
