  • Publication number: 20160314185
Abstract: Aspects extend to methods, systems, and computer program products for predicting events from aggregated device sensed physical data. Aspects facilitate dynamically targeted collection and aggregation of physical metrics (e.g., body metrics and environmental metrics) from varying sensing devices. Aggregated data can be used for pattern analysis, reporting and predictive results on health related events (or other scenarios). Collected physical metric data can be anonymized or personalized based at least in part on data source. Pattern analysis can be used to report at different levels (e.g., personal or commercial, localized or global) and return relevant contextual driven results, including potential healthcare related events or other events relating to the study of changes that occur in large groups of people over a period of time (e.g., relating to demography).

  • Publication number: 20160228911
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for ensuring even and consistent application of a treating agent onto a fiber web. The method of the invention improves coating agent deposition process such that the fiber web is evenly coated using less raw material by improving the deposition method and atomization quality, better control of the deposition rate and improving the adhesion properties. The method collects a treating agent in a chamber directing the agent through a linear continuous nozzle onto a fiber web. The treating agent is electrostatically charged and ultrasonically nebulized before being directed towards the fiber web.

  • Publication number: 20160161948
Abstract: A robotic system that includes a mobile robot and a remote input device. The input device may be a joystick that is used to move a camera and a mobile platform of the robot. The system may operate in a mode where the mobile platform moves in a camera reference coordinate system. The camera reference coordinate system is fixed to a viewing image provided by the camera so that movement of the robot corresponds to a direction viewed on a screen. This prevents disorientation during movement of the robot if the camera is panned across a viewing area.

  • Patent number: 9266239
Abstract: A medical robotic system that includes a robotically controlled surgical instrument. The system includes a constraint controller that constrains the movement of the instrument based on a predetermined parameter. The parameter may be a surgical space, wherein the instrument cannot be moved into, or alternatively cannot be moved out of, the space. The surgically constrained spaced may be defined through a telestrator screen that allows a surgeon to point and click the boundaries of the space.

  • Patent number: 9182004
Abstract: A rotary damper for remote-controlled vehicles is described. The rotary damper includes a housing containing a fluid, a rotary joint, a rotating member, a protrusion extending from the first end of the rotating member dividing a space within the housing into at least two portions, and a rocker arm. In operation, a linear motion applied to the rocker arm translates into rotary motion on the rotating member, causing the protrusion to move through the fluid within the housing. An elastic member may be coaxially mounted on the rotating member to resist the rotary motion translated from the rocker arm. The elastic member generates a spring force, and the protrusion moving through the liquid generates a damping force. In other examples, the damping force is generated using a fluid-shearing object moving through the liquid, such as a slotted disc or an impeller.

  • Publication number: 20150272880
Abstract: Provided herein are systems for treating a subject with a pulmonary infection, for example, a nontuberculous mycobacterial pulmonary infection, a Burkholderia pulmonary infection, a pulmonary infection associated with bronchiectasis, or a Pseudomonas pulmonary infection. The system includes a pharmaceutical formulation comprising a liposomal aminoglycoside dispersion, and the lipid component of the liposomes consist essentially of electrically neutral lipids. The system also includes a nebulizer which generates an aerosol of the pharmaceutical formulation at a rate greater than about 0.53 gram per minute. The aerosol is delivered to the subject via inhalation for the treatment of the pulmonary infection.

Abstract: A card recognition system comprises an imaging device configured to capture a raw image of at least a portion of a card, and a processor operably coupled with the imaging device. The processor is configured to perform an image processing analysis of the raw image to identify measurements of at least one of a rank area around a rank of the card, and a suit area around a suit of the card, and automatically generate a calibration file based, at least in part, on the image processing analysis. A card handling device comprises a card infeed, a card output, and a card recognition system. A method for tuning a card handling device comprises capturing a plurality of images from a deck of cards, storing the images in memory, analyzing the plurality of images for card identification information, and generating a calibration file including parameters associated with the card identification information.

  • Patent number: 8756696
Abstract: The present invention relates to a technique for debugging and testing potential virus, trojans, and other malware programs. The present invention, named Cyberlock™ provides a technique to analyze malware programs on a network in a secure manner, which allows multiple users to access or monitor the analysis. In the present invention, a virtual machine (VM) may be run on a network, emulating the operation of a Windows, LINUX, or Apple operating system (or other O/S), and the malware or suspected malware may be executed on that virtual machine. The virtual machine is isolated on the network, but accessible to one or more users, in such a manner than the malware or suspected malware may be analyzed.

  • Patent number: 8688844
Abstract: Transparent network devices intercept messages from non-transparent network devices that establish a connection. Transparent network devices modify these messages to establish an inner connection with each other. The transparent network devices mimic at least some of the outer connection messages to establish their inner connection. The mimicked messages and any optional reset messages are intercepted by the transparent network devices to prevent them from reaching the outer connections. Transparent network devices modify network traffic, using error detection data, fragmentation data, or timestamps, so that inner connection network traffic inadvertently received by outer connection devices is rejected or ignored by the outer connection network devices. Transparent network devices may use different sequence windows for inner and outer connection network traffic.
