  • Patent number: 10245346
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for increasing liquid absorption are described. Some embodiments may include a dressing having an absorbent layer containing super-absorbent material as well as ionic-exchange media (IEM). In some embodiments, the absorbent layer may include absorbent fibers. The absorbent fibers may each include a super-absorbent core surrounded by a water-permeable layer onto which ionic-exchange media (IEM) may be grafted. As liquid comes into contact with the IEM, its ionic nature may be reduced, therefore protecting the absorbent qualities of the super-absorbent material.

  • Patent number: 10118529
Abstract: An intermodal container for transporting frac proppant, such as frac sand, and/or other types of granular material is disclosed. The intermodal container is designed to receive frac sand from a quarry or other frac sand supply source. Once the container is filled with material, the container is loaded onto a transportation device and transported to a well site. Once received at the well site, the containers can be stacked and the frac sand stored until needed. Once the frac sand is needed, the containers are placed on a base unit and the container discharges its contents onto a conveying system formed as part of the base unit. The conveying system directs the frac sand to a blending location. The empty intermodal containers can be removed from the base unit and loaded onto a transportation device to be refilled at a mine site.

  • Patent number: 10112485
Abstract: A monitoring system is disclosed for use with a rolling chassis of a vehicle. The monitoring system may include a tire sensor configured to generate a first signal indicative of a current tire condition of the rolling chassis, and a load sensor configured to generate a second signal indicative of an actual load placed on the rolling chassis. The monitoring system may also include a controller in communication with the tire sensor and the load sensor. The controller may be configured to determine based on the first signal a theoretical load that the rolling chassis is capable of supporting given the current tire condition. The controller may also be configured to make a first comparison of the actual load with the theoretical load, and to selectively generate a first alert based on the first comparison.

  • Publication number: 20180243001
Abstract: One embodiment is directed to a method for creating translumenal vascular access, comprising utilizing a dilator adaptor to assist with forming a substantially atraumatic geometric outer junction between a dilator member/introducer member assembly and a guidewire which may be somewhat undersized relative to a lumen formed through the dilator member, thereby creating a geometric fit gap which may be suboptimal from a tissue interfacing perspective. The dilator adaptor may be interposed between the guidewire and dilator member to assist in remedying this fit mismatch, and in generally providing a preferred outer instrument interface for insertion through a small defect in a vessel to gain access to a lumen defined through the vessel.
