  • Patent number: 11876108
Abstract: A semiconductor package may include a line array of single-photon avalanche diodes (SPADs). The line array of single-photon avalanche diodes may be split between multiple silicon dice. Each silicon die may be overlapped by at least one lens to focus light away from gaps between the dice and towards the single-photon avalanche diodes. There may be one single-photon avalanche diode for each silicon die or multiple single-photon avalanche diodes for each silicon die. When there are multiple single-photon avalanche diodes for each silicon die, lenses may be formed over only the edge single-photon avalanche diodes.

  • Patent number: 11870000
Abstract: A semiconductor package may include a line array of single-photon avalanche diodes (SPADs). The line array of single-photon avalanche diodes may be split between multiple silicon dice. The silicon dice may have a staggered arrangement, with prisms on the package lid redirecting incident light to the silicon dice. The silicon dice may alternate between a first side of the package substrate and a second side of the package substrate. The prisms may alternate between a first structure that redirects incident light to the first side of the package substrate and a second structure that redirects incident light to the second side of the package substrate. The silicon dice may overlap to allow satisfactory alignment between the silicon dice and the prisms.

  • Publication number: 20240001587
Abstract: A method or process for a system for applying high, elevated levels of zinc borate additives to composite or manufactured wood panels, such as oriented strand board, for improved surface antifungal and anti-termite properties. Zinc borate is applied to one or more surface layers of a manufactured wood panel at approximately 2.0% (m/m) or higher, more preferably above 2.0% (m/m) to approximately 2.5% (m/m), which produces the surprising result of resisting surface fungal growth. In particular, OSB panels generated from Aspen and Southern Yellow Pine (SYP) wood species are successfully treated with zinc borate levels of at least approximately 2.0% (m/m), and found to resist surface fungal growth.

  • Publication number: 20240000624
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to absorbent articles comprise a first belt and a second belt with frangible pathways. An accessibility opening may also be positioned in the first and/or second belt, and a fastener component may be connected with the belt adjacent the accessibility opening. Such frangible pathway configurations provide a feature that allows an elastic belt of a diaper pant to be relatively easily torn along the frangible pathway when removing the diaper pant from a wearer, and the fastener component may provide a feature that helps maintain a used diaper pant in a disposal configuration. An absorbent article may also comprise opening facilitation features, such as opening operational indicia and opening mechanical aids, and combinations thereof. Such opening facilitation features may help a user to successfully determine the location and/or function of the fastener component and frangible pathway and/or successfully complete pant opening operations.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a portable thermite fire starter kit is provided. For instance, one or more small pieces or solid blocks of thermite may be contained within a portable kit container along with one or more ignition items. The ignition items may comprise thermite matches. In one embodiment, the ignition items are kept separate from the pieces of thermite. In one embodiment, one or both of the thermite pieces and/or thermite matches are constructed as multiple layers of progressively ignitable materials and/or compounds. In particular, the layers may start at a first layer and that can reach a first burn temperature that is at least a subsequent adjacent layer ignition temperature, where each subsequent intermediate layer leading to the thermite progressively increases in ignition temperature to not more than a previously adjacent layer burn temperature and also increases in burn temperature to at least a subsequent adjacent layer ignition temperature.

  • Publication number: 20230392742
Abstract: A cap covers an open end of a drain pan fitting of an appliance drain pan. The cap comprises a cylindrical body and a non-planar water-soluble membrane. The cylindrical body has a first end with a first end opening, a second end with a second end opening, and a longitudinal through-hole extending between the first end opening and the second end opening. The non-planar water-soluble membrane is positioned to at least partially obstruct the through-hole when the membrane is intact such that air flow through the through-hole is inhibited in the absence of water in the drain pan. The membrane is adapted to dissolve when exposed to water in the drain pan such that water in the drain pan is not inhibited from exiting the drain pan through the through-hole.

  • Publication number: 20230385750
Abstract: Systems and methods for modeling a temperature in a thermal package in a lane of commerce using forecast weather data or estimating the actual temperature history in a thermal package using actual weather data. Lane temperature is recognized and used as an intermediate calculated variable derived from weather data. Machine learning techniques estimate the lane temperature to determine a model. Product temperature in thermal packaging is estimated by simultaneously solving a set of heat transfer equations. The above is used to with forecast weather data to calculate a lane temperature and then calculate an expected product temperature based on the time and date of shipment. This product temperature curve is then analyzed with a set of decision rules to improve decision making on when to make a shipment and the best packaging to use.

  • Publication number: 20230378390
Abstract: A segmented optoelectronic semiconductor package may help to alleviate stresses resulting from bending that can cause a mechanical defect (e.g., crack) in a detector circuit. The bending can result from thermal growth/shrinkage of parts used in the optical electronic package and may be more pronounced for high aspect ratio detector circuits. The segmentation of the disclosed semiconductor package can create seams that allow the parts to flex without breaking. As a result, the disclosed semiconductor package may facilitate high aspect ratio optical detection over a wide temperature range.
