  • Publication number: 20090252911
Abstract: A double-sided adhesive sheet (10) that is comprised of a substrate (12) having a front surface (14), a rear surface (16), an upper edge (18), a lower edge (20), a right edge (22) and a left edge (24). Applied to the front surface (14) is an adhesive (30) and a front peel-off liner (38), and applied to the rear surface (16) is also an adhesive (30) and a rear peel-off liner (42). The adhesive (30) is preferably low-tack adhesive (32) although high-tack adhesive (34) can also be utilized. Extending through the front and rear surfaces (14,16) are a multiplicity of openings (46). When the rear peel-off liner (42) is removed, the adhesive sheet (10) can be removably attached to a vertical or horizontal surface (56). When the front peel-off liner (38) is removed, the multiplicity of openings (46) prevent air pockets from forming between an item (54) and the front surface (14), and between the rear surface (16) and the vertical or horizontal surfaces (56) to which the sheet (10) is attached.

  • Publication number: 20090187047
Abstract: A process for producing phenol and methyl ethyl ketone comprises contacting benzene and a C4 alkylating agent under alkylation conditions and in the presence of an alkylation catalyst comprising at least one molecular sieve of the MCM-22 family to produce an alkylation effluent comprising secbutylbenzene; wherein the contacting is conducted in a plurality of reaction zones and the C4 alkylating agent secbutylbenzene fraction is recovered from the alkylation effluent and comprises at least 95 wt % sec-butylbenzene, less than 100 wt ppm of C8+ olefins, and less than 0.5 wt % of isobutylbenzene and tert-butylbenzene. The sec-butylbenzene fraction is then oxidized to produce sec-butylbenzene hydroperoxide and the hydroperoxide is cleaved to produce phenol and methyl ethyl ketone.

  • Publication number: 20090030339
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus to insert a needle through a predetermined trajectory and with a predetermined depth, in order to reach a target accurately within soft tissue, under ultrasound imaging guidance. The invention can be applied to carry out, for example, prostate biopsy, or prostate brachytherapy. The apparatus can guide a biopsy needle into defined sites in the prostate gland. A conical approach is used to reach the prostate through one or more pivot points on the perineal wall. The biopsy needle penetrates the patient's skin through the pivot point for multiple cores. The apparatus holds a needle sheath with two ball joints. The orientation of the needle sheath is controlled by locking the front ball joint at the pivot point, and moving the back ball joint on a virtual plane. The biopsy needle is inserted manually through the needle sheath. The depth of the insertion is controlled by the position of the stopper on the biopsy gun holder.

  • Patent number: 7339465
Abstract: A vehicle-to-trailer light-connection verification tester (10) designed to be located within a towing vehicle (20), a towed trailer (30) or within a cable adapter (24) that is connected between the vehicle (20) and the trailer (30). The tester (10) features an electronics circuit (12) that includes a plug (P1), a receptacle (J2), a three-position mode switch (S1), a plurality of isolation diodes (D1-D4), and a loudspeaker (LS1). The mode switch (S1) has a vehicle test position V, a trailer test position T, and a normal lighting position N. When the switch (S1) is in the vehicle test position the rear vehicle lights are tested and when the switch (S1) is in the trailer test position (T) the rear trailer lights are tested. If each light in either the vehicle (20) or the trailer (30) is operational the loudspeaker (LS1) produces an audible sound. Conversely, if a particular light is not functioning no sound is heard.
