    Abstract: Improved methods for in situ hybridization assays of cellular and subcellular systems and tissue sections, and immobilization-based assay techniques such as Northern blotting, Southern blotting, dot blots, and the like, and assay techniques wherein the probes are bound to substrates are disclosed. The subject invention employs crosslinker-containing hybridization probes capable of forming covalent bonds between the probe and the target nucleic acid. Upon activation, the crosslinker will, if the probe has hybridized with its essentially complementary target, form covalent bonds with the complementary strand to covalently crosslink the probe to the target. Subsequently, stringent wash conditions may be employed to reduce background signals due to non-specific absorption or probes or targets, while retaining all crosslinked probe/target hybrids. Also disclosed are diagnostic kits for use in clinical and diagnostic laboratories.

    Abstract: A urine management system including components in fluid wicking communication with one another—a collection device, a conveyance tube, and a storage container—is disclosed. The gender-shaped collection device has wettable internal walls and contains a spacing wick. The male collection device additionally has a compression tube that provides a uniform compressive force for attachment and seal. The conveyance tube wicks urine from the collection device to the storage container, and contains a spacer throughout its length to prevent blockage by kinks or twists. The tube adapts to human shape and movement, expands during use, and contracts during idle periods. The storage container receives urine from the conveyance tube and immobilizes it. The storage container can be reusable or disposable. It's internal structure causes uniform distribution of the urine throughout the storage container. The urine system components provide continuous wicking through special connecting devices.

    Abstract: A method and system for using two-way ranging navigation to accurately determine the location of a transponder platform above-Earth or a fixed or mobile target on the ground or on water. The two-way ranging navigation measurements are used as calibration references, thereby improving the positioning accuracy of GPS. The system includes GPS and a two-way ranging navigation system for taking position measurements of a target. A correction factor is determined as a function of the measurements and the GPS position is adjusted by the correction factor. The method for calibrating GPS using two-way ranging navigation involves taking a two-way ranging navigation measurement and a GPS measurement of a target, determining a correction factor as a function of the measurements, and correcting the GPS position by taking a second GPS measurement and adjusting it by the correction factor.

    Abstract: In a process for the selective production of meta-diisopropylbenzene, a C9+ aromatic hydrocarbon feedstock containing meta- and ortho-diisopropylbenzene is contacted with benzene under conversion conditions with a catalyst comprising a molecular sieve selected from the group consisting of zeolite beta, mordenite and a porous crystalline inorganic oxide material having an X-ray diffraction pattern including the d-spacing maxima at 12.4±0.25, 6.9±0.15, 3.57±0.07 and 3.42±0.07 Angstrom. The contacting step selectively converts ortho-diisopropylbenzene in the feedstock to produce an effluent in which the ratio of meta-diispropylbenzene to ortho-diispropylbenzene is greater than that of the feedstock. The effluent is the fed to a separation zone for recovery of a product rich in meta-diisopropylbenzene.

Probes comprising a crosslinking agent are combined with a sample which may comprise a target sequence which is complementary to the probe. Hybridization is allowed to occur between complementary sequences. The crosslinking agent is activated. Covalent bonds are formed between the probe and the target sequence if they are hybridized to one another. The crosslinked nucleic acids can then be detected to indicate the presence of the target sequence. Also provided are kits comprising reagents.

    Abstract: A wheel cover (20) that simulates a high profile automotive wheel and tire. The wheel cover (20) includes a base mounting plate (26) that is removably attached to a wheel (22) using conventional methods. A face plate (38), which is configured to partially cover the tire sidewall as well as a central portion of a wheel, is positioned on top of the base mounting plate (26). The mounting plate (26) is attached to the face plate (38) in a spring-loaded manner, which continually urges the face plate (38) to be in contact with the side wall of the tire (24). The spring-loading arrangement permits the face plate (38) to yield when the tire bulges due to weight induced distortion or road hazard impact. The face plate (38) gives way at the tire bulge and yet retains contiguous engagement with the tire. When attached, the face plate (38) extends outward from the wheel's outer perimeter and over a portion of the tire's sidewall, thus producing the appearance of a high profile wheel and tire.

    Abstract: A disk drive includes a voice coil motor (VCM) having a narrow coil angle and a magnet magnetized with two or three pole pairs. The VCM magnet may define first, second and third sections, the second section being magnetically polarized in an axial direction that is opposite to that of the first and third sections. The first radial leg of the VCM coil faces the second section and the second radial leg faces the third section when the head is positioned at a non-operational position. The first radial leg faces the first section and the second radial leg faces the second section when the head is reading and/or writing to the data portion of the disk. Alternatively, the VCM magnet defines first and second sections that are magnetized in opposite axial directions.

The collector comprises a thin layer of pliable and water-permeable material through which leaked or voided urine passes and that is underlain by a layer of water-wicking material which may also contain one or more open channels for directing and conveying the flow of urine to a fitting connection with the conveyance tube. The conveyance tube, a novel thin-wall, flat tube, contains a spacer throughout its length to prevent the tube lumen from being completely closed and sealed off by kinks or twists in the tube. The tube can conform to the body shape of the wearer, expands as flow rate increases, and shrinks and flattens as flow drops off.

The collection device, a novel male catheter, comprises a waterproof, thin-walled conduction tube surrounding the penis, having wettable internal walls and containing a spacing wick. At one end, the conduction tube is connected to, or surrounded by, an elastic compression tube that provides a uniform compressive force around the girth of the penis for attachment and liquid seal to said penis, and at the other end is attached to a fitting that connects to the conveyance tube. The elastic compression tube is radially expanded prior to donning and, when in place over the penis, is allowed to elastically retract, providing radial compression for comfortable, and leak-free fit and use.

Each pair of legs adjustably expand between the vehicle's frame and the brackets, thus forming an unyielding, compressible rigid structure. A step platform (64) is disposed within each connecting arm step receiving hole on each end such that the platform spaces the arms apart and provides a convenient footstep to assist a person who is entering or exiting the vehicle.

    Abstract: A vehicle antenna light assembly (10) that is adapted to be removably attached to a vehicle antenna tip (90) as located on a vehicle antenna (92). The assembly (10) is comprised of an electronic light enclosure (12) that encloses a battery powered electronic light circuit (80) that sequentially activates a set of LED'S when the external environment is dark and the vehicle is moving. The enclosure (12) is attached to the antenna tip (90) by utilizing an enclosure attachment cup (32), a central attachment structure (42), and a compression washer (68). The attachment is accomplished by attaching the structure (42) to a lower section (18) of the enclosure (12). The cup (32) followed by the compression washer (68) is then inserted over the antenna (90) and the cup (32) is attached to a cup attachment cavity (60) located on the structure (42). When the attachment sequence is complete, the washer (68) bias the antenna tip (90) against the base (44) of the structure (42) to maintain a rigid attachment.
