  • Publication number: 20070077697
Abstract: A method for forming semi-insulating portions in a semiconductor substrate provides depositing a hardmask film over a semiconductor substructure to a thickness sufficient to prevent charged particles from passing through the hardmask. The hardmask is patterned creating openings through which charged particles pass and enter the substrate during an implantation process. The semi-insulating portions may extend deep into the semiconductor substrate and electrically insulate devices formed on opposed sides of the semi-insulating portions. The charged particles may advantageously be protons and further substrate portions covered by the patterned hardmask film are substantially free of the charged particles.

  • Patent number: 7199382
Abstract: A patient alignment system for a radiation therapy system. The alignment system includes multiple external measurement devices which obtain position measurements of components of the radiation therapy system which are movable and/or are subject to flex or other positional variations. The alignment system employs the external measurements to provide corrective positioning feedback to more precisely register the patient and align them with a radiation beam. The alignment system can be provided as an integral part of a radiation therapy system or can be added as an upgrade to existing radiation therapy systems.

  • Patent number: 7186245
Abstract: Novel component devices for urine management systems including a novel collection device, a novel conveyance tube, and a novel storage container. The collection device, a novel male catheter, comprises a waterproof, thin-walled conduction tube surrounding the penis, having wettable internal walls and containing a spacing wick. At one end, the conduction tube is connected to, or surrounded by, an elastic compression tube that provides a uniform compressive force around the girth of the penis for attachment and liquid seal to said penis, and at the other end is attached to a fitting that connects to the conveyance tube. The elastic compression tube is radially expanded prior to donning and, when in place over the penis, is allowed to elastically retract, providing radial compression for comfortable, and leak-free fit and use.

  • Patent number: 7181623
Abstract: A server/overlay network architecture and related method prevent (i.e., minimize the likelihood of) overloads from many network clients all trying to upload data files to a common destination server on the network at about the same time. Before a client transfers its (his or her) data file to the common network destination, a unique identifier (generally much smaller than the data itself) for the data of that client is generated. The unique identifier, such as a one-way hash function, is transmitted to an authenticator trusted by the common destination. The authenticator time-stamps (i.e., stores time and date) the unique identifier, digitally signs a message incorporating the unique identifier and the time-stamp and sends the message to the client who sent the unique identifier. The client then sends the data file with its time stamp to one of a plurality of upload proxy servers. The proxy server sends a message to the common destination telling it to pick up the data file when ready.

  • Patent number: 7152710
Abstract: A self-powered, heat-activated LED exhaust tip assembly (10) that is comprised of three major elements: a cylindrical enclosure (12), a heat conducting sub-assembly (80) and an electronics circuit (130). The sub-assembly (80) consists of an external heat conducting plate (82), and an enclosure-internal heat conductive horizontal structure (110) that is attached to the plate (82) through a heat conductive vertical rod (98). When heated vehicle exhaust gases pass through the enclosure (12), the gases heat the structure (110) and the heat is then transferred to the plate (92) via the rod (98). The heat from the plate (82) is transferred to a peltier device (132) that interfaces with the plate (82). The heated peltier device (132) produces a first d-c voltage (11) that is applied to a DC to DC converter (134), where a second d-c voltage (13) is produced.

  • Patent number: 7100936
Abstract: A trailer hitch (20) for attachment onto a motor vehicle for pulling a trailer. The hitch (20) consists of a pair of forward and aft mounting brackets (22 and 24) that are connected into existing holes in the vehicle's frame. Each mounting bracket has flanges (22? and 24?) with the aft brackets (24) having thru-holes (26) arranged in a bolt circle array. The pair of forward mounting brackets (22) are connected to the aft mounting brackets (24) for length adjustment of the trailer hitch relative to the hitch position on the motor vehicle. The height of the trailer hitch (20) is regulated by the right side up or upside down position of the aft mounting brackets (24) properly orienting the thru-holes. A box hitch (44) is adjustably attached for width regulation onto the thru-holes of the aft mounting brackets (24) by inserting arms (30) into a tubular sleeve (50) of the box hitch at an appropriate distance.

  • Patent number: 7043600
Abstract: CAM devices that can be cascaded together to form CAM systems of different sizes are disclosed. The system has one or more clusters of M CAM devices, each device including (M?1) disable connections. Disable signals are used to avoid contention so that one CAM device generates the system output on a shared bus. To reduce pin count, the CAM device of priority N within each cluster has (N?1) of its disable connections programmed as inputs for disable-in signals received from higher-priority CAM devices, and its remaining (M?N) disable connections programmed as outputs for disable-out signals provided to lower-priority CAM devices. Some embodiments include two or more clusters of CAM devices and a controller. In some embodiments, the CAM system works as fast as a single CAM device. Some embodiments impose no architectural limits on the number of CAM devices that can be cascaded together.

  • Publication number: 20040236902
Abstract: A data distribution system suitable for use in a content addressable memory (CAM) search engine have a number of CAM units. A set of bank multiplexers each includes a set of multiplexing constructs that are controllable via respective bank control buses. Input data for storage in the CAM units as file data or for searching against pre-stored file data are provided to the bank multiplexers and the bank control buses direct the multiplexing constructs to selectively pass sub-portions of the input data onward to the CAM units thus distributing some or all of the input data to the CAM units, with the input data configurably ordered as desired, configurably duplicated as desired, or both. Optionally, a configuration register can hold multiple sets of programming data for loading onto the bank control buses to direct the multiplexing constructs, thus facilitating different distributions of the input data to the CAM units.
