  • Patent number: 4994173
Abstract: Modified ZSM-5 type zeolite catalyst is prepared by controlled aging in a moving bed catalytic cracking unit. The modified catalyst exhibits significant olefin isomerization activity and reduced paraffin cracking activity. Hydrocarbons are cracked to products boiling in the motor fuel range, e.g., gasoline, by using the modified catalyst mixture comprising a ZSM-5 type zeolite and a conventional cracking catalyst. The ZSM-5 type zeolite is treated with partial pressure steam under conditions which increase the gasoline octane number of the product fuel without decreasing gasoline plus distillate yield. A process for changing a catalytic cracking unit's inventory from a conventional catalyst to a modified ZSM-5 type containing catalyst is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4995068
Abstract: A radiation therapy imager provides images of a patient while being treated while on a radiation therapy machine for purposes of verification and monitoring of position and alignment, and for shaping of the radiation field. The radiation therapy imager has a video camera mounted on the gantry of the radiation therapy machine and positioned diametrically opposite the treatment head. An elongated light box is disposed over the camera to exclude ambient light from the camera and a fluoroscopic plate is positioned at the distal end of the light box, i.e., the end remote of the camera. The plate is aligned with and facing the head to produce a fluoroscopic image in response to the treatment radiation that is applied from the head through the patient. A mirror in the light box is oriented to reflect the image to the camera to permit monitoring on a viewing screen. The light box can be retracted from under the treatment table either by telescoping the light box down or by swinging the light box to one side.

  • Patent number: 4978033
Abstract: A dispensing device utilizing a gas pocket assembly. The gas pocket assembly includes an inflatable gas pocket and a cylindrical mounting seat. The dispensing device has a gas introduction mechanism for introducing high-pressure gas to the gas pocket assembly, a pressurized cylinder for containing liquid, and a dispensing head mechanism for dispensing the liquid. the gas pocket assembly is secured to a bottom wall of the pressurized cylinder. The dispensing of the liquid, which creates a gradual dropping of pressure, causes the inflatable gas pocket to swell or inflate gradually until the interior of the pressurized cylinder is entirely occupied by the gas pocket.

  • Patent number: 4977397
Abstract: A touch-control mouse provides rapid and accurate control of the positioning of a cursor on a computer display screen, and includes a laminated touch-control film assembly, an aluminum supporting board, a press button switch set, a signal processing circuit board, and a dust-protective hanging case. Drawing using a finger on x-axis and y-axis resistance planes of the laminated touch-control film assembly results in variable potential value for x, y coordinates. The value of potential variation is calculated through a single-chip microprocessor to indicate relative direction, speed and amount of displacement on x, y coordinates. The signal of the relative direction, speed and amount of displacement is further is further sent by the single-chip microprocessor through a standard RS-232 connector to one of the serial communications ports of a PC to rapidly and accurately control the positioning of the cursor on the computer display screen.

  • Patent number: 4973219
Abstract: The present invention provides a high productivity, high density container storage yard adjacent to a facility for loading and unloading containers, such as to and from ships, with the individual containers stored therein being stacked up to four containers high. An integrated container handling system is designed to move the containers from the container storage yard to the loading and unloading facility, and includes an overhead grid rail system on which container carrying shuttle vehicles are routed to designated yard locations by a master control system. Passive switching mechanisms are utilized to selectively move the shuttle vehicles through the grid rail network, wherein the actual switch mechanism is carried on the shuttle vehicle rather than on the track. One disclosed embodiment of the loading and unloading facility comprises overhead cranes and associated buffers in a marine terminal for loading and unloading a container ship.

  • Patent number: 4972418
Abstract: A memory check circuit for a memory system using a plurality of memories whose write addresses and read addresses are automatically updated in response to a data write and read clock pulse, includes a selector coupled to the plurality of memories for inserting a unique word for data error detection into a data sequence at predetermined interval and for providing a unique word-inserted data sequence, and a write clock pulse supplying device for supplying the write clock pulse to each of the plurality of memories while a read clock pulse supplying device supplies the read clock pulse to each of the plurality of memories. A unique word detection device detects the unique word from data read out from the plurality of memories in response to the read clock pulse and generates a detection signal. A timer counts a predetermined period of time and generates a reset signal to reset the plurality of memories if the detection signal is not generated within the predetermined time period.
