  • Patent number: 9444518
Abstract: A one-touch application is launched by a user of a mobile communication device (MCD) selecting a single selector element on the MCD, and in response the MCD automatically and without further user interaction establishes near field communication (NFC) with an electronic product, receives identifying data from the electronic product over NFC, and uploads the identifying data wirelessly to a cloud server associated with a manufacturer of the electronic product. The server sends back to the MCD and/or to the electronic product information about the electronic product.

  • Publication number: 20160247121
Abstract: The system allows an employee/individual/asset to manage availability and schedules with multiple stakeholders from one log in, simultaneously. Stakeholders might include employers, organizations, departments, groups, units, friends, family and those with whom one might associate. A social network based on the sharing of availability and time with others is provided. Employees have a single source to manage availability or unavailability with multiple organizations simultaneously from one log in. Other solutions do not currently allow for a single log in for employees to connect with more than one employer using the same solution. The method allows for a single log in for employees to connect with more than one employer. The approximate distance away of every contact using a mobile app is provided so managers can see how far away an employee is in the event they have not shown up for a shift or when considering who to call in for a last minute shift.

  • Publication number: 20160201848
Abstract: A flow vortex spoiler including an oil sump wherein pressurization air flow moves about the oil sump through a sump pressurization cavity, the cavity having an inlet, a circumferential plate disposed across a portion of the pressurization cavity near the inlet. The circumferential plate is disposed at said inlet to said sump pressurization cavity. The circumferential plate has a plurality of closely spaced apertures. The pressurization air has a radial component and a tangential component wherein the circumferential plate and the plurality of closely spaced apertures substantially reduce the tangential component of the pressurization air and further wherein the vortex spoiler inhibits excessive pressure change within the pressurization cavity and inhibits oil leakage at seals adjacent to the oil sump.

  • Patent number: 9360459
Abstract: A method and apparatus for inspecting a composite structure. A thickness profile of a portion of a region of a composite structure is identified. The region has a cross-section with non-parallel surfaces. An estimated thickness for a location within the region and outside of the portion is identified using the thickness profile. An indication of whether the location has undesirable porosity is generated based on information about attenuation of response sound signals and the estimated thickness for the location.

  • Patent number: 9285847
Abstract: At least one embodiment of the invention relates to a cogeneration system configured to be coupled to an electrical input of a building and configured to be coupled to a heating system of a building. The cogeneration system can comprise a generator configured to generate electrical energy. There can be also a fluid output and a fluid input that passes through the generator and configured to absorb heat from the generator. There can also be an electrical output coupled to the electrical input of the building wherein when the generator is operational, the engine creates both heat and electricity. There can also be a processor in communication with the generator, wherein the processor controls when the generator turns on and off based upon the amount of heat needed, the cost of fuel and the existing electrical rates. These costs are obtained using communication with real time rates over the internet.

  • Publication number: 20160022018
Abstract: A load carriage frame (80) of FIG. 9 includes a shoulder yoke (90) and a belt (120) separated from the yoke by a multi-element connecting brace (96). The brace is telescopic in nature in that a flexible but rigid tongue (130), extending from a first section, is permitted to slide within a guide on a second section (154), thereby allowing the length of the connecting brace to be altered. The multi-element connecting brace is centrally coupled to the yoke and centrally coupled to the belt and configured to act as a force path by transferring weight that, in use, is loaded onto or through the yoke and into the belt thereby effecting selected weight re-distribution onto the pelvic girdle of a wearer about which the belt, in use, is secured. Additionally, as shown in FIG. 20, a quick release mechanism may further alter the length of the connecting brace by allowing the position of a rotational coupling point to be altered relative to a housing of the quick release mechanism.
