  • Patent number: 8534297
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of testing moisture retention of tobacco in which dynamic rules on moisture desorption of the cut tobacco in a dry environment are investigated by using a dynamic vapor sorption system and has found that a dry basis moisture content at an earlier stage of moisture desorption of the cut tobacco has a preferred linear correlation with a square root of time. A linear fitting for t0.5 is made by using values of a dry basis moisture content Mt at a time point t, and a rate constant k is obtained from a slop of the obtained straight line and used as a reference of testing the moisture retention of tobacco. The method can also be used to investigate the moisture retention of tobacco and filter humectants of cigarettes. In comparison with the conventional method, the method is convenient and applicable, and has a short testing period, a high degree of automation, preferred accuracy and preferred reproducibility, etc.

  • Patent number: 8432416
Abstract: A method for adjusting a page display manner, a mobile electronic device, and a storage medium thereof are provided. In the present method, a scaling signal is first received. Then, a display ratio of a page in a touch screen is adjusted according to a variation of the scaling signal. If the display ratio is smaller than or equal to a specific ratio, the page is adjusted according to the display ratio and other open pages are displayed along with the page on the screen. Thereby, a user can resize the page, inspect all the open pages, and switch between all the open pages simply through the touch screen. As a result, it is made very convenient to browse multiple pages by using the mobile electronic device.

  • Patent number: 8370931
Abstract: Multi-behavior matching in a computer system is performed in order to identify suspicious sequences of activities. System behavior is captured using driver hooks. A behavior monitoring system determines the process to which the system behavior belongs by processing a table. This includes using the process ID and thread ID of the system behavior as lookups into the table. A multi-behavior matching algorithm is applied to determine if there is any matching suspicious behavior by matching sets of rules (a policy) to system events caused by a particular process. A state machine is used to keep track of matching policies. Options to the rules and policies (such as “offset,” “depth,” “distance,” “within,” “ordered” and “occurrence/interval”) are used to refine when a rule or policy is allowed to produce a positive match, reducing false positives.

  • Patent number: 8309689
Abstract: The invention relates to a simple and high yield process for producing a regenerated silk fibroin which does not need dialysis. Particularly, a process of the invention is characterized in that the silk fibroin is precipitated by applying a shear stress and/or changing the solvent power of the fibroin solution. The process of the invention simplifies the process of producing silk fibroin and greatly shortens the process time to 1 to 2 hours, whereas the conventional dialysis process is complex and needs around 2 to 3 days. In addition to reducing the time needed, the process of the invention can increase productivity of silk fibroin by at least 8%.
