  • Publication number: 20210388358
Abstract: The invention provides compositions and methods for reducing expression of a target gene in a cell, involving contacting a cell with an isolated double stranded nucleic acid (dsNA) in an amount effective to reduce expression of a target gene in a cell. The dsNAs of the invention possess a single stranded extension (in most embodiments, the single stranded extension comprises at least one modified nucleotide and/or phosphate back bone modification). Such single stranded extended Dicer-substrate siRNAs (DsiRNAs) were demonstrated to be effective RNA inhibitory agents compared to corresponding double stranded DsiRNAs.

  • Publication number: 20210300707
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided to minimize waste and improve quality and production in web processing operations. The apparatus and methods provide defect detection in deposition of acquisition material, which on current machines frequently flips and is difficult to detect when it has flipped causing manufacturers to scrap thousands of products. Using the present invention, defects are able to be detected by discerning a difference in the appearance from side to side with a vision camera, and an acquisition inverter can flip the material to a correct orientation.

  • Patent number: 11115819
Abstract: A device and method for locally authenticating an accessor device to access an operable device. The method comprises receiving reservation information at a validation device from an access granting device, the reservation information identifying one or more accessor devices as having permission to utilize the operable device, where the operable device is local to (e.g., within a predetermined proximity) of the validation device. The method further comprises receiving a request from an accessor device requesting permission to utilize the operable device, the request including an identifier of the requesting accessor device, validating the request based on the reservation information and the identifier, and when validation is successful, granting to the requesting accessor device permission to utilize the operable device.

  • Patent number: 11005713
Abstract: Techniques for transmitting messages to send configuration information, and/or commands, to features, agents, applications and/or other aspects of endpoints and/or networked computing devices. In an example, server, a host of an analytics platform, or other computing device may send messages within a network to an endpoint that is remote from the computing device. In the example, a first message may be sent to a first agent operating on the endpoint, wherein the first message directs configuration of a first feature of the first agent. The computing device may receive consumption data from the endpoint, which may be monitored and/or analyzed by the analytics platform of the computing device. In the example, a second message may be sent to a second agent operating on the endpoint, wherein the second message has a parameter that allows free-format data, and wherein a command is encoded within the parameter.

  • Patent number: 10701892
Abstract: A system and method for automatically flushing urine from a pet litter box are disclosed. In one embodiment, the system and method may be directed to a combination of a urine-separating pet litter box with odor controlling conditionally non-absorbent litter and an automatic flushing device. The urine-separating pet litter box includes an upper litter tray with a perforated bottom and a lower liquid holding tank, which holds water inside. The lower liquid holding tank is connected to water intake pipes and a drainpipe and flushes the urine and holding water and fills freshwater in the lower liquid holding tank by detecting a water level of the holding water in the lower liquid holding tank with sensors. The flushing was performed by using a Venturi pump effect to control two electrical valves open or close. In some embodiment, Sodium Sesquicarbonate (SSC) may be used as conditionally non-absorbent litter for complete disposal of feces.

  • Publication number: 20200031862
Abstract: The invention provides for double stranded nucleic acid molecules comprising a 5? extension of the sense or antisense strand and further comprising a plurality of nucleotides that are conjugated to a ligand and methods of using the double-stranded nucleic acid molecules. Ligand-modified oligomers where the sense stands form a tetraloop provide new potent and stable RNA interference agents. These dsNA molecules are synthesized using a plurality of nucleotides that include ligand-modified monomers, nucleotide analog monomers, modified nucleotide monomers and the like, using standard nucleotide synthetic methods and systems.

  • Publication number: 20200024062
Abstract: There is disclosed a dispenser 10 for dispensing product objects, comprising: a main chamber 20 for storing product objects; and a portion dispensing mechanism for dispensing a portion comprising a plurality of project objects 40. The portion dispensing mechanism comprises a gate arrangement 36 and a collection chamber 24 which are configured for relative linear movement between a loading configuration and a dispensing configuration. In the loading configuration a plurality of product objects 40 within the main chamber 20 collect within the collection chamber 24 and the gate arrangement 36 prevents product objects 40 from being dispensed from the collection chamber 24. In the dispensing configuration the gate arrangement 36 prevents product objects within the main chamber 20 from entering the collection chamber 24 and a plurality of product objects are dispensed from the collection chamber.

  • Patent number: RE48182
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided to minimize waste and improve quality and production in web processing operations. The apparatus and methods provide defect detection both before and after application of component patches to a traveling web to create a product. Web defect detection may be provided by way of at least one visual inspection station located upstream from the patch applicator. Patch defect detection may be accomplished by way of a visual inspection station located proximate the patch applicator. If defects are detected in either the traveling web or the component patch prior to patch application, patch application may be prevented until both a satisfactory web and patch are provided. If defects are detected after patch application, the resulting product may be culled. Furthermore, the apparatus may be provided with diagnostic software to warn against extant or imminent machine complications.
