In response, the computer dynamically calculates a horizon-based stratal slice that includes the user-selected point. A selected attribute rendering from seismic data that is contained within the horizon-based stratal slice is automatically calculated and dynamically shown on a second display.

Abstract: A distribution of sand sediment class in a subsurface of the Earth is identified. Three-dimensional stratigraphic images of sediment distribution in a subsurface of the Earth are constructed, including at least two depositional domains, by simulating sediment transport and deposition over a selected time interval of sediments originating from one or more clastic sediment input sources. The simulation uses at least two equilibrium surfaces bounding the at least two depositional domains and at least two sediment classes, and updates the equilibrium surfaces in a sequence of timesteps, by accounting for sediment feed from the one or more clastic sediment input sources, erosion and deposition in accordance with mass-balance equality constraints. The images are used to identify a distribution of sand sediment class in the subsurface of the Earth suitable for acquiring hydrocarbons or fresh water, or for storing gas or liquids.

Abstract: Certain embodiments of the invention provide a method for identifying a cancer cell that is sensitive to a biguanide compound or other CYP epoxygenase inhibitor, comprising detecting increased expression of at least one cytochrome P450 (CYP) and/or decreased expression of soluble epoxide hydrolase (EPHX2) in the cancer cell, wherein increased CYP expression and/or decreased expression of EPHX2 in the cancer cell correlates with increased sensitivity of the cancer cell to the biguanide compound or other CYP epoxygenase inhibitor.

The first power supply is affected by natural events that are uncontrolled by a user. The method also includes in accordance with a determination that, during the first time period, the power supply from the AES exceeds the power load: storing an excess portion of the power supply in the energy storage device, without releasing electrical power from the AES to the power grid. The excess portion is less than the energy storage device's maximum capacity.
