  • Publication number: 20240386521
Abstract: Example apparatus disclosed herein include a watermark detector to detect watermarks in a media signal. Disclosed example apparatus also include a controller to operate the watermark detector to (1) detect a first watermark in the media signal, and (2) cycle between sleep intervals and active intervals based on a repetition rate of the watermarks in the media signal to perform a detection operation for a second watermark at a second location in the media signal relative to a first location of the first watermark in the media signal. In some examples, the controller is to search a buffer of prior detected watermark symbols to detect a third watermark at a third location prior to the second location in the media signal in response to the second watermark not being detected at the second location in the media signal.

  • Publication number: 20240388823
Abstract: Voice-controlled devices that include one or more speakers for outputting audio. In some instances, the device includes at least one speaker within a cylindrical housing, with the speaker aimed or pointed away from a microphone coupled to the housing. For instance, if the microphone resides at or near the top of the cylindrical housing, then the speaker may point downwards along the longitudinal axis of the housing and away from the microphone. By pointing the speaker away from the microphone, the microphone will receive less sound from the speaker than if the speaker were pointed toward the microphone). Because the voice-controlled device may perform speech recognition on audio signals generated by the microphone, less sound from the speaker represented in the audio signal may result in more accurate speech recognition, and/or a lesser need to perform acoustic echo cancelation (AEC) on the generated audio signals.

  • Publication number: 20240386540
Abstract: Systems and methods for manufacturing and inspecting a honeycomb structure. A method for inspecting includes generating a three-dimensional volume file of the honeycomb structure from x-ray images. The three-dimensional volume file is reduced to two-dimensional data sets. One or more structural features of interest are tracked through the three-dimensional volume file by identifying a portion of the structural feature in a plurality of the two-dimensional data sets. A geometric contour of the structural feature of interest is derived from data corresponding to the structure feature of interest in the two-dimensional data sets. A planar representation of the structural feature of interest is created by extracting data from the three-dimensional volume file in accordance with the geometric contour. At least one structural condition of the honeycomb structure is determined based on the planar representation of the structural feature of interest.

  • Publication number: 20240386470
Abstract: A customer return management system operates to categorize reverse items for resale, such as returned items or overstock inventory, and deliver the categorized items through a variety of different reverse supply chains in a way to increase a net recovery rate. The system uses a sortation system that performs a two-step process for sorting the reverse items into different reverse supply channels. In a first step, the items can be scanned and divided into two categories based on their value, such as high value items and low value items. The low value items can be quickly liquidated as a bulk. In a second step, high value items can be categorized into a number of different sorts, which are taken to different resale channels.

  • Publication number: 20240386715
Abstract: A trajectory-based object search process includes receiving a user request specifying a geographic region of interest and/or a time period of interest. A set of video-derived object trajectories is identified based on the user request. At least one event is identified based on the set of video-derived object trajectories, by processing each video-derived object trajectory individually or by aggregating video-derived object trajectories, from the set of video-derived object trajectories, that overlap with respect to at least one feature. For each event, a preview image is selected that includes a thumbnail image and/or a video frame, based on the user request and using a ranking algorithm, and event metadata associated with the preview image is received. Also for each event, a video segment associated with that event is received, and the preview image and/or the video segment is caused to be displayed to a user associated with the user request.

  • Publication number: 20240388317
Abstract: The methods and systems herein enable dynamic cellular antenna allocation. Respective statuses of cellular radios are first received. Each of the statuses comprise an idle status or an active status with one or more operating bands. The operating bands are then evaluated for potential interferences between each other and with one or more other radios. Based on the statuses and the potential interferences, a configuration of a switch matrix configured to connect each of a plurality of cellular antennas to either one of the cellular radios or to a termination resistor is determined. The configuration is such that antennas connected to the cellular radios with the potential interferences are physically isolated from each other and any unused cellular antennas are connected to the termination resistor. The configuration is then applied to the switch matrix such that the potential interferences may be mitigated.
